GROIKTP Chapter 587

This entry is part 510 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

Under Mako Mori’s guidance, Chen Ye arrived at the weapons warehouse.

General Pentecost was already there, waiting. Upon seeing Chen Ye approach, he immediately stepped forward to greet him.

“Welcome to our weapons depot.”

Chen Ye nodded slightly, acknowledging the greeting, and got straight to the point. “Where are the items I requested?”

“They’re over here.”

General Pentecost gestured to the left.

Over there, on a large metal rack, sat an enormous missile.

The missile itself was a staggering ten meters long.

One could easily imagine that when it detonated, the sheer force of the explosion would be utterly devastating.

“This is the EVA-6,” General Pentecost began explaining. “It’s the most powerful nuclear weapon we have at the base, with a yield of 20 megatons. If detonated, it will completely obliterate everything within a hundred-kilometer radius, easily leveling a small city.”

Chen Ye nodded approvingly.

With such power, if it exploded inside the kaiju’s nest, it would undoubtedly earn him a top-tier evaluation.

“Sir, this nuke is quite heavy. Would you like me to send a Jaeger to assist you?” General Pentecost asked.

“Oh?”

Chen Ye stepped forward, grabbing the handle on the side of the nuke, and then—he effortlessly lifted it with one hand!

“It is heavy, but manageable,” Chen Ye said calmly.

The soldiers around him gazed at him with even more awe and respect.

They all knew exactly how much that nuke weighed.

Because they knew, they fully realized just how terrifying Chen Ye’s strength was.

General Pentecost’s face twitched slightly in shock, but he quickly composed himself. “Very well, then.”

Chen Ye smiled faintly.

Actually, if someone had helped him, it would have been easier.

However, Chen Ye didn’t want the system to assign any of the credit to others, so he preferred to handle everything himself to secure the maximum reward.

“By the way, how do I detonate this thing?” Chen Ye asked. “Is there a remote control or something?”

“Yes!”

General Pentecost retrieved a remote from a nearby shelf, handing it to Chen Ye while explaining how to use it.

“Sir, this is the safety mechanism. Once it’s disengaged, you press the red button to initiate EVA’s detonation sequence. The countdown is set to 60 seconds… I suggest you leave immediately after pressing the button.”

Chen Ye took the remote, examining it briefly before putting it away.

At that moment, General Pentecost pointed to a suit made of part metal, part fabric, and introduced it. “Sir, this is a specialized diving suit designed for you by our researchers. It’s mostly made from the hide of kaiju. The suit has an internal oxygen supply that will allow you to breathe underwater for up to four hours. Most importantly, it’s lightweight and won’t hinder your movements.”

Chen Ye was quite satisfied with General Pentecost’s preparations.

“Very good… now, leave the rest to me.”

With that, Chen Ye grabbed the nuke and began to leave.

General Pentecost was caught off guard by Chen Ye’s urgency and couldn’t help but call out, “Sir…”

Chen Ye turned back. “Is there something else?”

“Uh… I was going to say, you could rest a bit longer before heading out.”

“There’s no need.”

At a mysterious oceanic location.

Chen Ye, carrying the “EVA-6” nuke, dove deep into the sea.

Before long, he saw a faint light emanating from the ocean floor.

It was almost certain that this was the entrance to the kaiju nest!

The reason Chen Ye was able to locate the entrance so quickly wasn’t because he remembered the movie’s plot.

Even if he did, there was no way he could recall it with such precision.

In the original plot, the location of the entrance was only vaguely mentioned. Finding it alone would take days, if not longer.

What helped Chen Ye pinpoint it so quickly was the set of coordinates provided by General Pentecost.

Following the light, Chen Ye swam like a fish, quickly closing in on the entrance.

Although he couldn’t use the abilities of the Sea God’s Ring, Chen Ye still had his telekinetic powers.

With his current mental strength, controlling the surrounding seawater was a simple task.

This allowed him to move freely underwater.

Just as Chen Ye was approaching the entrance, his Death Sense suddenly triggered an alert.

The warning wasn’t particularly strong, indicating a nearby danger, but nothing life-threatening.

Still, Chen Ye instinctively dodged.

After all, he was carrying a nuclear bomb in his hands.

If it exploded, even he might not survive, though the chances of that happening were slim, given the safety mechanisms built into the nuke.

*Splash!*

A surge of water swirled.

As soon as Chen Ye dodged, a massive shadow swept past where he had just been.

The shadow was long and wide—enormous, to be exact.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a tail!

Had Chen Ye not moved, that tail would have slammed into him.

While his Armament Haki and regeneration abilities would have kept him alive, the “EVA” would certainly have been damaged.

His face darkened at the thought. Chen Ye’s eyes fixed on a particular spot in the water.

There, lurking in the depths, was a massive shadow!

No need to guess—that was the kaiju guarding the entrance.

The next moment!

The gigantic shadow lunged at Chen Ye.

“Courting death!”

Chen Ye snorted coldly, tossing the “EVA” aside and clenching both fists…

Back at the military base.

At that moment, countless high-ranking officials had gathered in the large control room, all monitoring Chen Ye’s actions.

General Pentecost had made a small modification to Chen Ye’s “diving suit,” installing a tracking simulator.

Of course, it posed no harm to Chen Ye.

They simply wanted real-time updates on the situation.

Chen Ye was fully aware of this and allowed it.

“Teacher, do you think he’ll succeed?” Mako Mori asked softly as she stood beside General Pentecost, both watching the monitor.

Still fixated on the screen, the general responded without turning his head, “If even he can’t succeed, then no one can stop the kaiju.”

Mako Mori fell silent.

She knew that her teacher had placed all his hopes on this one man.

Just then, a technician suddenly shouted, “We’ve detected another lifeform approaching Plan A!”

Plan A was the codename the military had assigned to Chen Ye.

When General Pentecost turned to look, the technician was already exclaiming in shock, “Oh my God, it’s another Category 4 kaiju…”
