GTA Chapter 80

This entry is part 81 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

One minute later.

Qin Feng had consecutively killed two of the Gold-tier bosses, following the sequence of the “Ancient Calamity God Uthos” symbols, but…

Both Gold-tier bosses revived immediately after being killed.

This left Qin Feng somewhat perplexed.

“So, it’s not about the order?”

Since he could remain in stealth, failing this experiment wasn’t a problem. He simply cloaked himself and began exploring the surrounding map.

After circling the stagnant lake, he found nothing suspicious.

Then a thought crossed his mind about something he had overlooked.

“Wait, I haven’t explored the lake itself yet?”

Qin Feng approached the shore of the lake and noticed that the water’s surface was perfectly smooth, like a mirror, revealing nothing beneath it.

He decided to activate *Blacklight Shield*.

As he raised his hand, his dodge rate transformed into ten layers of black barriers that circled around him, providing protection.

With his shield up, he jumped into the water.

At the bottom of the lake, in the center, he saw an ancient stone tablet bound by chains—clearly, it was the *Ancient God Slate*.

Surrounding the central slate were seven smaller stone pillars, each inscribed with a symbol matching the ones on the seven bosses.

“The bosses need to be killed near their corresponding stone pillars to break the seal on the slate?”

With this idea in mind, Qin Feng set to work.

Soon, he lured the first Gold-tier boss to the lake and toward the stone pillar bearing the matching symbol. The boss, the *Cursed Ratman*, had a frail, withered body that constantly spewed black-green sludge at Qin Feng, launching long-range attacks.

Meanwhile, Qin Feng had his *Phantom Nightwolf* lure the other bosses away temporarily.

“Perfect timing.”

“Kill!”

With a quick *Shadow Strike*, Qin Feng decimated the *Cursed Ratman* once more!

This time, the boss finally dropped loot, granting Qin Feng both experience and evolution points.

“Good, that confirms the strategy.”

When the boss died, the symbol on its body glowed with a black light, resonating with the corresponding stone pillar.

The pillar shattered instantly, and one of the chains on the *Ancient God Slate* began to break…

Ten minutes later.

Qin Feng repeated the process, dragging the remaining six bosses to their corresponding pillars and slaying them.

By this point, he had fully understood the mechanics of the slate’s boss battle.

“To reveal the Calamity God symbols on the bosses, you have to kill all seven simultaneously first.”

“Then, lure them to their matching pillars for the kills to break the seals.”

“If the officials had tried to figure this out, it would have taken them at least ten days, and the cost in resources and lives would have been enormous…”

Qin Feng shook his head.

The difficulty for other players in killing the bosses was simply too high.

Even taking down a single Gold-tier boss was a challenge—there were no more than ten teams in all of Jianghai City capable of doing so.

Not to mention handling seven bosses at once, and meeting all these conditions…

It would have been nearly impossible!

For Qin Feng, however, from the moment he arrived in the valley, it had only taken about fifteen minutes to solve the puzzle entirely.

All seven bosses were level 10 Gold-tier.

After defeating them all, Qin Feng reaped a bounty of experience, lifespan, and evolution points!

He leveled up to 14 instantly!

His evolution points surged by 294 in one go!

“Adding in what I had left from before, I now have 325 evolution points.”

“*Shadow Strike* is my main damage-dealing skill right now.”

“In that case, I’ll spend 210 points to evolve it to legendary-tier and see what happens.”

At its current epic tier, *Shadow Strike*, combined with the active effect of *Redemption*, was already capable of dealing around 500,000-600,000 base damage in total!

What would happen if he evolved it further?

——

[You have consumed 210 evolution points. Remaining points: 115.]

[Shadow Strike (Epic → Legendary): Blink in a direction (range increased from 30 → 40 meters), entering stealth (duration increased from 12 → 15 seconds), dealing 9 strikes to all enemies along the path. Cooldown reduced from 12 (8.8) seconds. Level 4.]

[Strike width: 5 → 6 meters. Each strike adds 500 → 700 attack power.]

[New effect: Each strike grants a shield equal to 100% of your maximum health, stacking up to 9 layers!]

——

The range had increased, the width was broader, and the area of effect larger.

The number of strikes remained the same, but a new effect had been added: each successful strike granted Qin Feng a shield equal to his entire health pool!

“Damn…”

“Does this mean that if all nine strikes hit, my effective health instantly becomes ten times what it was?!”

Qin Feng was astonished.

He knew that legendary-tier skills in *The Forsaken Game* always came with unique effects.

But the effect of *Shadow Strike*…

It boosted his survivability to the max!

Of course, some skills in the game dealt extra damage to shields, and there were a few rare skills that could even bypass shields entirely…

But the former wouldn’t be too impactful, and the latter wouldn’t appear in ordinary skills—it would only show up at the epic tier or higher.

“With this, my margin for error in boss fights is much higher.”

Qin Feng was quite pleased with this result.

The only downside was that the damage increase from evolving *Shadow Strike* to legendary-tier wasn’t massive.

But damage wasn’t something Qin Feng lacked right now…

“With over 100 evolution points left, I’ll hold onto them for now and use them when I need to adapt to a particular situation.”

With his current power level, Qin Feng decided to always keep some evolution points in reserve, giving him the flexibility to evolve as needed in critical moments.

After evolving *Shadow Strike*, Qin Feng’s focus shifted to the slowly unsealing *Ancient God Slate*.

With all seven surrounding stone pillars destroyed, the black chains binding the central slate began to unravel.

After waiting a moment, Qin Feng reached out and grasped the ancient stone tablet, roughly the size of a laptop.

As soon as he touched it, chaotic whispers and murmurs filled his mind…

——

[Congratulations, you have obtained the “Cursed Slate of the Calamity God”!]

[Cursed Slate of the Calamity God: This slate contains the cursed power of Uthos, the Calamity God!]

[Active use: Enchant any piece of equipment with a “curse.” This curse will randomly provide one beneficial affix based on the equipment and your class, but it will also add one negative affix.]

[After killing a certain number of monsters while carrying the slate, the usage counter will reset (allowing it to be used on any piece of equipment again). However, only one piece of equipment can be cursed by the same slate at a time. When reapplying the curse, you may choose to keep the previous effect or replace it with the new one.]

——

*Ancient God Slates* came in two varieties: *Blessed Slates* and *Cursed Slates*.

The former purely added beneficial affixes to equipment, but the effects were relatively weak.

The latter added both beneficial and negative affixes, but the boosts could be much stronger.

“A single *Ancient God Slate* can double the affix value of equipment, and with some luck, it might even grant powerful affixes that change class traits.”

“And since it can be used repeatedly, I can refresh the curse until I’m satisfied with the affixes…”

Excited, Qin Feng opened his equipment list.

“Let’s test this out!”
