OKSTS Chapter 55

Following that.

One by one, the bandit corpses began transforming into zombies.

However.

With Fang Ye there, a force to be reckoned with.

These little zombies had no chance to cause any trouble.

Their fate was sealed—they would be killed a second time.

Out of the 17 bandits.

Fang Ye personally killed 9, while Su Ziqiu finished off 8.

Additionally.

Fang Ye experimented with using flames to burn the zombies, and it turned out that his fire could completely incinerate the zombies!

Zombies are naturally afraid of fire and sunlight.

(Unless they are extremely powerful zombies with advanced cultivation.)

Fang Ye’s flames, however, were no ordinary fire—they drew their energy from the sun itself.

This made them highly effective against creatures that fear sunlight!

This discovery.

Brought Fang Ye great joy.

He hadn’t expected his flames to be so powerful!

In the large pit.

The fire was still blazing.

All the bandit corpses were burning within it.

Fang Ye looked up at the sky and saw the first pale light of dawn appearing in the east.

Morning was approaching!

Next.

Fang Ye used his flame ability to burn down all the wooden huts.

They kept only three of the horses, releasing the rest into the wild.

He destroyed every trace of the bandit camp.

By the time they finished, the sky had brightened.

After a sleepless night.

Fang Ye was still full of energy, but Su Ziqiu seemed a bit tired.

“Su Ziqiu, how are you feeling? Do you want to rest somewhere and sleep for a while?”

Su Ziqiu smiled and shook her head, “I’m fine, don’t worry about me. Let’s stick to your plan!”

Hearing her response, Fang Ye nodded with his typical straightforwardness, “Alright, we’ll rest at the next town then.”

With that, they set off together.

As for Old Master Ren, he was securely locked inside the wooden crate, which was wrapped in black cloth to prevent any sunlight from getting through and killing him!

They had three horses in total.

Fang Ye and Su Ziqiu each rode one, while the third horse carried Old Master Ren.

In Renjia Town.

Lu Feng, Zhao Fusheng, and the others hadn’t slept all night!

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to.

They simply couldn’t!

The only zombie had been stolen by Fang Ye…

And they had all accepted the mission to kill the zombie…

If they failed to complete the mission, their lives would be at risk!

How could they sleep with that hanging over their heads?

They were on the verge of panic!

At this moment.

The group sat around a breakfast stall, their exhausted eyes bloodshot as they discussed what to do while eating.

“Renjia Town isn’t that big. We’ve searched the whole place overnight!”

“Even Old Master Ren’s family has sent people to look for it…”

“It’s pretty clear now—the zombie’s no longer in Renjia Town. Someone took it!”

“I don’t know who the bastard is, but if I ever run into him, I’ll make sure to torment him to death!”

By this point, they were all gnashing their teeth, filled with frustration and anxiety.

Even Lu Feng and Zhao Fusheng couldn’t sit still anymore!

Just then, one of the girls in the group spoke up, “Guys, I think I know who took the zombie!”

“Oh?” A boy eagerly asked, “Meng Shu, do you know who it was?”

Everyone turned their attention to the girl.

Meng Shu explained, “Before we entered the Forbidden Land, our leader told us that the instructors wanted us to eliminate the two seed students from Martial Saint Academy while we were here.”

“And from last night until now, I’ve searched the entire town and haven’t seen those two anywhere! I even asked the Martial Saint Academy students, and they all said they haven’t seen them…”

“So, I suspect that it’s very likely they accepted the zombie-killing mission too, and their plan is the same as ours!”

Meng Shu’s attention to detail had served her well.

While tracking down the zombie, she had also noticed this crucial detail.

“You’re saying those two bastards probably took the zombie?” a boy asked angrily through gritted teeth.

Meng Shu nodded, “I think so!”

“Damn it! Even if we didn’t have the instructor’s mission, I wouldn’t let them off this time!!”

“Those losers from that trash academy are messing up our plans and kept us up all night—they’re dead!”

The students took turns venting their anger.

Lu Feng furrowed his brow and said, “The key now is to find them!”

Someone suggested, “I think we should ask Uncle Nine at the mortuary for help. Our instructors mentioned that this Daoist priest is quite skilled and knows some mystical techniques. He might be able to track them down for us.”

“Yeah, let’s ask the Daoist for help.”

“But how do we convince him to help us?”

“Convince him? The corpse went missing from his mortuary. He’s responsible for finding it—he owes that to the Ren family.”

“Alright, let’s do it. Let’s finish eating and head over right away!”

After finalizing their plan, they hastily ate a few more bites of food and immediately set off for the mortuary.
