RWWOKS Chapter 173

This entry is part 174 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Faced with Sasori’s straightforward request, Fang Bo put on a conflicted expression.

“All my strength lies in that puppet, but… oh, it’s fine, really. If it helps Lady Chiyo, I’ll do whatever’s needed.”

Despite saying he had no issue, he hesitated to confirm. Fang Bo knew that when you’re doing someone a favor, it’s best to make it seem like it’s a difficult decision. If you agree too quickly, people might not appreciate it as much.

Sasori went silent for a moment, then pulled out a rather worn-looking puppet.

It was the same Third Kazekage puppet that had been damaged in the battle at the Tenchi Bridge. Fang Bo thought it was ruined for good, but Sasori had managed to repair it, though it still looked slightly battered.

“This thing is badly damaged; I couldn’t restore it perfectly. Once we deal with the enemy, it’s yours.”

So generous, huh? Skeptical, Fang Bo lightly touched the puppet, quickly bringing up its stats.

**Name**: Human Puppet (Third Kazekage)

**Grade**: Legendary (Damaged)

**Category**: Weapon

**Durability**: 328/328

**Energy**: 38

**Attribute Boosts**: +3 Spirit, +2 Perception

**Body Components**: Energy Core II, Kauri Wood Frame

**Mechanical Add-ons (1)**: Broadsword

**Equipped Skill**: Magnet Release

**Requirements**: Perception 25, Mastery in Puppet Control

**Origin**: Naruto

**Equipment Evaluation**: The Third Kazekage’s puppet, capable of controlling Iron Sand freely, though it looks a bit worse for wear.

**Magnet Release (Active Skill)**: Controls the shape and flow of Iron Sand, consuming 1 energy point per second.

Unlike ordinary puppets, this one had both energy points and body components. Using its skills depletes energy points, which require special methods to recharge—like the “two spare batteries” he carried for emergencies.

Silent for a moment, Fang Bo finally agreed to the trade, handing over the Yoriichi Zero to Sasori. Risks aside, he couldn’t pass up the chance to get his hands on this powerful puppet.

“The worst-case scenario is a one-for-one trade—I can afford that.”

The Kazekage puppet’s Magnet Release was precisely the wide-range attack Fang Bo needed to bolster his own arsenal. The only limitation was its short battery life, which capped at 38 seconds of continuous use. However, he had a “Grade IV Elite Mechanical Core” on him, which could potentially extend its duration slightly.

“With the Kazekage puppet, I can dual-wield puppets in battle,” Fang Bo thought. “Once this mission’s done, I can mount my Dragoon weapon on it.”

The puppet currently only had a broadsword; it would need substantial upgrades to reach its full potential. Fang Bo also understood why Sasori himself didn’t use it—likely fearing exposure of his involvement in the Kazekage’s demise. Fang Bo would also avoid using it openly in front of Sunagakure shinobi.

Watching Sasori store the puppet in a scroll, Fang Bo couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. He hadn’t expected to get his hands on his first human puppet so soon. In the face of all his plans, this was a valuable addition.

If he mastered the skills Yao Yao had offered, he could control the puppet purely through mental commands, without the need for manual maneuvering. Splitting his focus like this was practically second nature to Fang Bo now, thanks to his enhanced mental strength.

The only problem? Yao Yao insisted on waiting until after they reached the Fairy Tail world to finalize their exchange, supposedly following her sister’s strict orders. Probably out of caution, worried that her sister would be scammed.

“What a suspicious mind,” Fang Bo thought disdainfully, already plotting ways to convince her to hand over the skills sooner. Not a “scam,” he reasoned—more like “persuasion.” The sooner he learned the skill, the better prepared he’d be for any future missions.

Fang Bo’s musings were interrupted as Sasori completed his testing with the Yoriichi Zero puppet. Manipulating it with a fluidity Fang Bo had yet to achieve, Sasori even quickly picked up on the Sun Breathing techniques that came with it.

Fang Bo realized he’d have to tread carefully against Itachi. While Sasori was immune to genjutsu as a human puppet, it would be challenging to face Itachi without significant support.

As Sasori halted his practice, Fang Bo broke the silence. “We’ll need Konoha’s help. After all, he’s one of their missing-nin.”

“Agreed,” Chiyo nodded, her eyes filled with old hatred. “Konoha has so much blood on its hands; it’s time they pay for it. I’ll leave that part to you.”

Battling an S-rank rogue ninja was out of the question for him, but stirring up trouble? That was his specialty.

The Third Hokage’s peaceful approach meant Konoha wouldn’t go all out, likely just sending a few people as a token effort. Fang Bo’s job was to turn this token effort into real involvement.

Wasn’t it time for a certain someone to know about Itachi’s arrival?

“I think he’s busy training the Chidori, right?” Fang Bo muttered to himself, thinking of the one person with the deepest grudge against Itachi: Sasuke Uchiha.

If Sasuke found out, nothing would keep him from the fight.

Would Kakashi let his student rush into such danger?

**Chapter 173: The Puppet of the Third Kazekage**

The answer, of course, was no; Kakashi would never let Sasuke go in alone—he’d definitely go to support him.

And his comrades, watching Kakashi walk into danger, would they let him face it alone?

Before long, more and more allies would be rushing to the scene, enough to potentially overwhelm Itachi Uchiha.

But Fang Bo had another concern.

Though Itachi had come to hunt down a traitor, with Tobi’s cautious personality, he wouldn’t fully trust Itachi. What if the two of them were working together?

“Better safe than sorry,” Fang Bo thought, formulating a plan.

After parting from the others, he finally returned to his room to get some sleep. But after all that had happened that night, Fang Bo could almost hear the cawing of crows in his mind whenever he closed his eyes. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, he put himself into a trance to get some rest.

**Konoha Village, Cliffside**

“Strange, why does my head hurt…” Sakura muttered, standing up in a daze, her gaze vacant.

She couldn’t remember how she’d ended up there.

“I…I think I had a dream.” Blushing, Sakura recalled meeting a man in her dream, one even more charming than Sasuke. He’d been gentle, his touch so mesmerizing that she was completely captivated.

With her heart filled with memories, Sakura’s eyes sparkled with a faint, dreamy glow. Suddenly, as if something clicked, she turned and began walking toward the cliff’s edge.

“I need to stop Sasuke…to take him somewhere.”

“I…I have to do this.”

Not long after she left, a handsome man appeared nearby, watching her retreating figure with a smug smile and a glint of satisfaction in his eyes.

No woman could resist his power.

The man, a reincarnator from the Cloud Village, had given himself a name strikingly similar to a character from a story: Shirou Emiya.

In certain circles, Shirou Emiya was quite infamous, thanks to a particular ability that he possessed—a talent for love.

A terrifying ability directed toward the opposite sex, it allowed him to raise any woman’s affection level to overwhelming heights in a short amount of time.

Using this power, Shirou Emiya had perfected the art of living off women’s resources—eating their food, spending their money, learning their skills, using the gear they’d given him.

To him, reincarnators who fought tooth and nail were foolish.

They simply didn’t understand that using the story’s characters was the true way to complete missions.

This time, his target was a naive girl who was easy to manipulate.

To avoid leaving any evidence, Shirou Emiya had used a dream-influencing ability to win her over. It was a bit tricky, but the method was foolproof.

Using this well-practiced skill, he’d easily gained the girl’s trust and, with her information, located Uchiha Sasuke.

This time, their objective was to take his Sharingan eyes. Without them, it would be nearly impossible for the Cloud Village to win the Chunin Exam.

Then, a pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders. Behind him, a slightly older woman embraced him.

“Shirou, is everything set?” she asked.

At her words, Shirou’s expression softened. Turning around, he gazed at her with warm eyes. “Don’t worry. She’ll be leading our target into the trap shortly.”

“Good,” she said, smiling warmly.

As he held her gently, Shirou whispered, “I promised that I wouldn’t let anyone else near me.”

“Since I joined the Thunder Team, I’ve only wanted to stay close to you, so I can report everything to you as it happens.”

The woman smiled, motioning for him to continue. She could never hear enough.

“I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world of space alongside a powerful reincarnator like you,” he continued, gazing deeply into her eyes. “Even if I didn’t do anything but watch you train and fight, it would be the happiest thing in my life.”

The woman was indeed powerful, with a team of elite reincarnators under her command.

Before he entered a higher-difficulty world, Shirou Emiya needed her support to clear his primary mission. Once he completed it, he’d find an excuse to leave her behind.

With so many strong women around, there would always be someone willing to protect him.

While they exchanged sweet words, a dazed Sakura had managed to intercept Sasuke, dragging him to a distant spot without a word.

“Sakura.” Sasuke looked at her, puzzled. He could sense something was off.

Only when he noticed the explosive tags planted around them did he realize what was happening.

Boom!
