**Chapter 147: The Whitebeard Pirates Strike Back!**
“Run!”
Ace, dragging Luffy along, burst through the smoke, trying to regroup with the Whitebeard Pirates.
“Stop them!”
The Marines noticed them and surged forward.
“Fire the cannons!”
**Boom! Boom! Boom!**
Without hesitation, the Marines unleashed a hail of cannonballs, blanketing the sky as they rained down on the two. The scene was utterly terrifying.
“Stay back!”
Ace shielded Luffy, flames roaring to life around him as he crossed his arms.
“Solar Blaze!”
His fiery arms intercepted the cannonballs mid-air, detonating them in a series of explosions before they could hit their targets.
“Fire Pillar!”
Ace hurled a massive fireball to the ground, which erupted like a bomb, creating a wall of flames and clearing a path.
“Amazing!”
Luffy marveled at the blazing corridor Ace had carved out, unable to hold back his admiration.
Ace smiled faintly and led the way as they dashed forward.
“Gum-Gum Gatling!”
“Crossfire!”
The two fought as they ran, dispatching any Marines who tried to block their path.
For a moment, no one could stop them.
“Ace…”
A deep, menacing voice rumbled from behind them, causing Ace to freeze.
“Luffy, run!”
With a shove, Ace pushed Luffy forward and turned to face the threat.
The ground behind them had melted, and standing there was Akainu, his body radiating molten lava as he fixed his piercing gaze on them.
“Akainu.”
“Ace, so you’re still alive,” Akainu said, adjusting his hat emblazoned with the word “Justice.”
Without hesitation, Akainu’s right arm turned to magma, and he struck.
“Fire Fist!”
Ace’s own arm ignited into a massive fireball, stretching out to meet Akainu’s fiery punch.
This was Ace’s signature move, one he had perfected over time.
Under normal circumstances, this attack could sink five ships with ease.
But now, colliding with Akainu’s molten fist, it was completely halted, unable to advance an inch.
“Luffy!” Ace yelled, gritting his teeth.
“I’m coming!”
A figure stepped forward, positioning themselves between Luffy and the fight.
“Who are you…?” Luffy asked, hesitating before recognition dawned. “The mysterious pirate?”
Fang Ye nodded, his expression calm as he began to charge up.
“Serious Punch!”
Fang Ye’s fist, massive as a cannonball, slammed into Akainu with unstoppable force, creating a massive explosion that blew a hole through Akainu’s chest.
The “Justice” emblem on Akainu’s back burned away as lava spewed from the wound, and blood trickled from his lips.
“Damn it…”
Akainu growled in pain, leaping back to put distance between them.
Fang Ye’s surprise attack had worsened his already serious injuries.
“You little brat…”
Akainu glared at Fang Ye, his hatred palpable.
While Fang Ye might not be the strongest among the pirates, he was an unpredictable variable that the Marines had not accounted for.
Akainu couldn’t shake the feeling that Fang Ye somehow knew what was going to happen next.
“Could his Observation Haki really be that advanced?”
The idea that Fang Ye could predict the future even briefly sent chills through Akainu.
If true, it would place Fang Ye on an entirely new level of danger.
“Damn it!”
Sengoku’s fist slammed into a fallen column, his face twisted with frustration.
“They were right in front of me, and I still let them escape! Unforgivable!”
Sengoku’s uniform was torn, his expression one of deep regret.
Meanwhile, Whitebeard rose to his feet.
“You little brats…”
Whitebeard himself wasn’t in great shape. His face bore severe burns, and his clothes were shredded.
No longer the invincible man of his youth, Whitebeard had been pushed to his limits just dealing with Akainu, who had repeatedly threatened his life.
Despite this, determination burned in Whitebeard’s eyes.
“Listen up, Whitebeard Pirates!”
Slamming his massive bisento into the ground, Whitebeard addressed his crew.
“I’m giving you two choices!”
“First, separate from me. Return safely to the New World and carry the Whitebeard flag with pride!”
Whitebeard took a deep breath, his eyes blazing with resolve.
“Second, if you’re not afraid of death, charge with me! Today, we’ll clash with these Marines and show them who the true rulers of the seas are!”
Whitebeard’s bold declaration ignited the pirates’ spirits. They raised their weapons high, roaring in agreement.
“Father!”
The Eleventh Division Captain, Kingdew, cleaved through a Marine with his blade, raising his sword to the sky.
“I’m with you! I’ll stand and fight alongside you, Father!”
A burly pirate with dreadlocks wielding a massive spiked mace stepped forward.
“Count me in! Today, I swear to live and die with you, Father!”
His weapon was stained red with the blood of countless Marines, its presence alone intimidating.
Seeing his crew’s unwavering loyalty, Whitebeard smiled, his heart swelling with pride.
But then his tone grew stern once more.
“No one gets back on the ship! Do you want the Whitebeard Pirates to vanish from history?”
His commanding voice silenced the crowd.
“Thirteenth and Fourteenth Division Captains, lead your squads and break through! Get back to the ship!”
“What… Father…”
The six-meter-tall “Buffalo” Atmos, wielding twin giant blades, looked unsure.
Similarly, Speed Jiru, armed with a shield and spear, hesitated.
“What are you waiting for? Izo, go with them and protect their retreat!”
The cross-dressing, elegant Izo’s face was a mix of shock and anguish.
“Father, how could I…?”
“Enough!”
Whitebeard’s voice cut through, cold and unyielding.
“If you won’t listen to your father…”
He trailed off, sighing deeply.
Izo clenched his teeth, his face etched with pain. He didn’t want to abandon Whitebeard.
But as one of the few level-headed members of the crew, Izo knew the truth: if they disobeyed Whitebeard, the entire crew might perish here.
“Understood… Father,” Izo said, his voice trembling as he turned to the pirates.
“Follow me! Back to the ship!”
“Captain…”
“Move!”
Izo barked, his twin pistols raised.
“Do you dare disobey Father’s orders?”
The rebellious pirate shrank under Izo’s piercing gaze, his grief evident.
“Yes, Captain!”
Tears streaming, the man led his group away.
As the pirates retreated, Whitebeard watched them go, a bittersweet smile on his face.
“Don’t blame me… this may be my last order.”
Turning back to face Marineford, Whitebeard roared, “Brats, are you ready?”
“Of course, Father! I’ll clear the way for you!”
Marco transformed into a blazing phoenix, surging ahead with incredible speed.
Finally unleashing his instincts, Marco laughed as he sent Marines flying with a single kick.
“Hahaha! I’ll clear the path too, Father!”
Rakal hurled his spiked mace, crushing several Marines in its devastating arc.
The Whitebeard Pirates charged forward with unstoppable determination! Â
