GTA Chapter 145

This entry is part 146 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

At the resurrection point in the Magic City ruins, Theodore clenched his fists and cursed under his breath, “F***!”

Beside him, the golden-haired girl Fury frowned. “Uncle, what’s going on? Can we recover the lifespan we lost?”

Theodore shook his head and replied coldly, “Heh. The official surnamed Zhu said they have no control over Shadow. The conflict between us and him is ours to resolve. They deeply regret the incident but are willing to compensate us with ten years of lifespan per person.”

The dreadlocked Zuma thought for a moment. “Ten years each? That’s 3,650 days. Not bad, I guess. Better than nothing.”

Theodore patted Zuma’s head and scoffed, “Kid, you don’t understand. Why would they give us ten years? To keep us from making trouble! I, Theodore, still hold some sway in Magic City. If I stir things up, I can rally 300,000 North American players and 200,000 from Sakura Country who’d follow our lead!”

Iron Fist Amos was stunned. “There are that many foreigners in Magic City?”

Theodore chuckled. “Of course. It’s Da Xia’s largest international city.”

Fury spat disdainfully. “So, are we taking the ten years or not? Those Da Xia officials are despicable!”

Theodore nodded, his eyes gleaming with calculation. “Of course we take it. Why refuse a free gift? Listen to me: going scorched earth benefits no one. Da Xia is strong, and this is their turf—it’s hard to fight against that.”

“I promised a ten-year lifespan to an official surnamed Sun and got some intel. The reason Da Xia officials are indifferent to us is that Shadow has solidified a partnership with them.”

“The officials locate bosses, and Shadow takes them down. He only keeps the lifespan and Assassin-specific loot.”

This revelation shocked the group.

The golden-haired Fury did the math. “With Shadow dealing damage in the hundreds of thousands per attack, he’d only need six or seven hits to kill a platinum-level boss. And the officials are giving him the bosses? That’s ridiculously efficient!”

Theodore smirked. “You think it’s that easy? The ruins of Magic City span 100–200 kilometers. If Shadow collaborates this way, he’ll spend most of his day traveling, wasting his own time to grow stronger.”

The fiery-tempered knight Amos growled, “So what do we do? Just take the ten years and hide like cowards?”

Theodore remained calm. “Patience. I have a plan. Shadow and the Da Xia officials must pay a price.”

Zuma looked puzzled. “What’s the plan?”

The diplomat explained, “Remember I mentioned an old friend gave me the location of a diamond-level boss? This boss is exceptionally strong with unique abilities.”

“It has a prefix called ‘Nightmare.’ If you die to it, the consequences are far worse than a typical death.”

“Even its weakest skills deal tens of thousands in damage. Not even Shadow could survive that, let alone one-shot it.”

“If we lure Shadow and the Da Xia officials there, they’ll suffer devastating losses!”

This revelation lit up everyone’s faces.

The knight Amos grinned. “Nice. Let’s move quickly!”

Theodore shook his head. “Not so fast. If we act now and a disaster occurs, we won’t leave this city alive.”

“I’ve confirmed that in three days, partial air travel will resume in Magic City. We’ll take a Columbia Airlines flight back to Washington, North America.”

“Once we arrive in Washington, we can consume lifespan to forcibly transfer our in-game locations to the Washington ruins.”

This brought a sigh of relief from the group.

Recent studies from multiple nations confirmed that players’ real-world locations could impact their in-game positions. By consuming lifespan, players could forcibly transfer to the in-game area corresponding to their real-world location. This process, termed ‘forced transfer,’ had its pros and cons.

For example:

-If Qin Feng moved in the real world from Jianghai to Magic City, he could consume lifespan to move in-game from the Jianghai ruins to the Magic City ruins.

Forced transfers were extremely costly:

-A standard transfer from Jianghai ruins to Magic City ruins at level 15 consumed 985 days of tradable lifespan.

-Forced transfers consumed ten times as much lifespan.

Cross-national transfers required even more lifespan.

Still, forced transfers had one key advantage: no level restriction. Without this option, players needed to reach level 15 for inter-city transfers or level 30 for international transfers.

Theodore, backed by North America’s resources, had no worries. With Zuma’s unique hidden class, the North American authorities were more than willing to fund their transfer.

As Theodore finished explaining, the group relaxed. Fury even hugged and kissed him on the cheek. “Uncle, you’re the best! Meeting you was the luckiest moment of my life~”

Iron Fist Amos laughed. “Once we’re on the plane and out of Da Xia airspace, we’ll log in and lead them straight to their deaths?”

Theodore grinned. “Exactly. Until then, we’ll stay inside to avoid getting killed by Shadow again. Over the next few days, I’ll use my network to sell boss location intel to Da Xia officials. This way, they’ll lower their guard. Once we’re airborne, we’ll send them straight to hell.”

As a diplomat, Theodore had an extensive network in Magic City. Many North American merchants and entrepreneurs doing business there were acquainted with him. Through them, Theodore maintained communication with Magic City’s 300,000 North American players.

Before long, he acquired intel on two platinum-level boss locations. Acting as a middleman, he sold this information to Da Xia officials at a profit.

Had Qin Feng known about Theodore’s revenge plot, he might have laughed: “This guy isn’t half bad!”

In his previous life, that same diamond-level boss had caused the deaths of nearly 100 top-tier Da Xia players, triggering a series of catastrophic consequences. Under normal circumstances, Theodore’s plan would have worked perfectly, inflicting massive losses on Da Xia.

But this time, things were different.

With Qin Feng in the picture, even a diamond-level boss was manageable.

In fact, Qin Feng had struggled to find a diamond-level boss himself. If he’d known its location, he’d have sought it out long ago. Theodore was practically serving it to him on a silver platter.

What a kind-hearted soul!

Meanwhile, Qin Feng was calmly evolving his skills when a message from Wang Meng popped up.

Wang Meng: “Boss, Magic City officials agreed to the collaboration. There’s a platinum-level boss available now. If you head over, you can add the on-site contact as a friend for future coordination.”

Qin Feng wasn’t in a rush.

Without a flying mount, traveling would take too long.

Qin Feng: “No hurry. I’m exploring a ruin right now, which will take several hours. I’ll reach out afterward.”

After responding, he glanced at his skill panel. Defeating Thousand-Blade Centipede, Moville had yielded a jade-grade Strength Training Skill Book via Greedy Hand.

This book provided a passive increase in strength.

Qin Feng learned the skill immediately and spent 33 evolution points to evolve it three times, upgrading it to legendary grade.
