Chapter 171: Consecutive Kills
The sounds of explosions and bodies breaking echoed through the dust-filled air.
A grim rain of blood mixed with dust fell, sending chills down anyone’s spine.
As the smoke began to dissipate, the vision of the Pain paths cleared.
“Where is he?” Jiraiya asked, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Soon, he spotted Fang Ye by a crumbled wall.
The Human Path was embedded deep into the wall, blood streaming down its surface.
The Human Path was dead.
“Incredible…” Jiraiya muttered, wiping cold sweat from his brow.
The Pain Six Paths, which had cornered him countless times and brought him to the brink of death, had been reduced by half in mere moments by Fang Ye.
“Attack!” the Deva Path commanded coldly, charging toward Fang Ye with the Animal Path.
The duo moved with lightning speed, engaging Fang Ye in close combat.
“Summoning Jutsu!”
The Animal Path crossed its hands, summoning a massive rhinoceros that charged directly at Fang Ye. Each step of the beast shook the ground.
“Child’s play.”
Fang Ye grabbed the rhino’s horns with both hands, steadying his stance as he twisted his waist. With a powerful heave, he spun the beast in a wide arc.
Suddenly, Fang Ye released his grip. The rhino became a massive projectile, hurtling toward the Deva Path and Animal Path.
The Deva Path leaped nimbly, dodging the flying rhino. At the same time, he grabbed the Animal Path by the collar, pulling it to safety.
Boom!
The rhino smashed into a wall, vomiting blood before vanishing.
Seeing this, the Deva Path hurled the Animal Path upward.
“Summoning Jutsu!”
The Animal Path quickly formed hand seals and slammed its hands together.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Four figures appeared around the Animal Path before landing near the Deva Path.
The Six Paths of Pain were reunited once again.
“What’s going on?” Fang Ye frowned as he noticed the seemingly unscathed Human Path and Asura Path.
His gaze shifted behind them to the Naraka Path, standing with the terrifying King of Hell next to him.
“So I forgot to deal with you,” Fang Ye muttered, cracking his knuckles. He turned and called, “Shima-sama, one more time?”
“Of course!” Shima leaped into the air, unleashing another torrent of sand and wind.
“Sage Art: Wind Style Sandstorm!”
Once again, the battlefield was enveloped in a thick sandstorm, cutting off the Six Paths’ shared vision.
Meanwhile, Jiraiya summoned the three great toads: Gamabunta, Gamaken, and Gamahiro.
“Bunta, you’re up!” Fukasaku jumped onto Gamabunta’s head and directed him into the sandstorm.
“What is this place?” the Animal Path muttered, disoriented in the pitch-black storm.
Boom!
Fang Ye found the Animal Path in the haze and struck without hesitation.
Boom!
The Animal Path was sent flying, its left shoulder shattered, blood spraying as it cried out.
Fang Ye didn’t let up. In a flash, he appeared behind the Animal Path and delivered another punch.
Boom!
A dull thud rang out as the Animal Path’s abdomen caved in, leaving its body in tatters.
Fang Ye struck again, delivering the final blow.
Splat!
The Animal Path’s body disintegrated into a bloody mess of flesh and gore.
Outside, the sandstorm began to settle, revealing the towering figure of Gamabunta.
“Where’s the Animal Path?” the Deva Path muttered, realizing he couldn’t sense it.
Nearby, Gamabunta grimaced, spitting out both Fang Ye and the mangled remains of the Animal Path.
Fang Ye leaped nimbly off Gamabunta’s tongue, avoiding the blood and gore.
“Oh?” the Deva Path raised an eyebrow as he observed the scene, locking eyes with Fang Ye.
“Impressive. Perhaps you’re worthy of becoming part of Pain—after you’re dead,” the Deva Path said coldly, his tone as if addressing a mere object.
“You value me that much? Then come and take me,” Fang Ye retorted mockingly, gesturing with disdain.
The Deva Path’s eyes narrowed. He raised his left hand toward Fang Ye.
“Bansho Ten’in!” (Universal Pull!)
In an instant, Fang Ye was yanked off his feet, pulled by an invisible force straight toward the Deva Path.
“Die,” the Deva Path muttered. A black rod extended from his sleeve, aimed directly at Fang Ye.
Bang!
The rod pierced Fang Ye’s body, but instead of blood, smoke billowed out.
The “Fang Ye” impaled on the rod transformed into a small frog, sitting innocuously on the black rod.
“Ribbit~” the frog croaked before leaping away, vanishing from sight.
“Serious Punch!”
Fang Ye’s voice roared from behind the Pain paths. Unnoticed, he had moved into position, raising his fist high.
Boom!
His punch landed squarely on the Naraka Path, obliterating it in a fiery explosion of blood and gore.
The King of Hell beside the Naraka Path twisted grotesquely before disappearing into nothingness.
“When did this happen?” the Deva Path muttered, shocked.
None of the five remaining pairs of Rinnegan had seen Fang Ye’s movements.
Using Gamabunta’s distraction, Jiraiya had created a shadow clone of himself, which transformed into Fang Ye. Meanwhile, the real Fang Ye had hidden within the dissipating sandstorm, sneaking behind the Naraka Path.
As for the frog? That was an unintended bonus.
With the Naraka Path destroyed, Fang Ye launched himself into the remaining Pain paths, punching and kicking with unrelenting force.
Though the Human Path was the strongest in close combat among the Six Paths, it was no match for Fang Ye.
After just two exchanges, the Human Path was overwhelmed, its limbs cracking under the pressure.
“This kid… he’s a monster,” Jiraiya murmured, watching Fang Ye dominate the fight.
The Deva Path coordinated with the others, attacking Fang Ye with black rods. Yet each attempt was thwarted, as Fang Ye’s strikes shattered the rods with ease.
The Deva Path’s eyes suddenly flickered. The remaining Pain paths stopped their attacks and dispersed in four directions.
“Bansho Ten’in!”
The Deva Path restrained Fang Ye with Universal Pull, pulling him into position.
“Shinra Tensei!” (Almighty Push!)
