RWWOKS Chapter 201

This entry is part 202 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Inside a small, unmarked motel by the roadside, Fang Bo couldn’t help but sigh in frustration.

“Damn Geese’s gang, they’ve ruined everything. Now I can’t even stay in a proper hotel.”

With the police still hunting him, he had no choice but to make do with this rundown, three-no motel.

After a night’s rest, Fang Bo had fully recovered and was ready to continue with his plans.

As for Mai Shiranui, her body had already been taken over by the storm god, Gönitz, the leader of the Eight Kings. Finally, he had returned to the world.

However, things hadn’t gone quite as Fang Bo had expected.

Gönitz, resurrected, didn’t show any particular excitement. In fact, she thought it wasn’t the best time to revive Orochi.

The once-great figure from the Heavenly Kingdoms now showed a calm indifference to everything.

Reluctantly, Fang Bo began explaining the threat of the “NESTS” organization and mentioned their plan to seize Orochi’s power.

“Humans are so foolish,” Gönitz remarked coolly. “Grasping at the power of gods will only bring ruin upon themselves.”

It was clear that Gönitz looked down on the so-called “NESTS” organization, not even considering them a threat.

“It’s almost as if you need to see it for yourself,” Fang Bo said, describing his battle with the enemy, emphasizing that the storm potion had come from them.

Gönitz, who had been puzzled about how Fang Bo had revived her, went silent upon hearing the explanation.

After a long pause, Gönitz finally spoke. “Perhaps you’re right. I can indeed feel the traces of Orochi’s power being stirred.”

“But even with such a skill, they are still not a threat.”

“Then Kyo Kusanagi has been captured by the NESTS,” Fang Bo said.

With those words, Gönitz fell completely silent.

Kyo Kusanagi was the heir of the Three Sacred Treasures family—the man who had once defeated her and sealed her father-god the following year. For such a powerful existence to be captured by the NESTS?

The truth dawned on Gönitz, and she finally took the threat seriously.

“If what you say is true, I will stop their plans.”

“No time to waste, we need to move out immediately,” Gönitz declared, ready to strike at the heart of the enemy’s lair.

Fang Bo, however, wasn’t quite so reckless. “You and I aren’t enough; we need more help.”

“Who else are you going to find?” Gönitz asked, a touch of irritation in her voice, as if she felt he was underestimating her strength.

But in reality, she wasn’t yet at her full power.

Gönitz (Leader of the Eight Kings)
Attack Tendency: Low
Attribute Tendency: Mental, Agility, Strength
Trait: Breath of the Storm (Legendary), Heavenly God Tribe
Threat Assessment: Low Pressure

Heavenly God Tribe: You are an emissary of the gods, Charm +5, Starting Affinity with divine beings +50.

Even ignoring her legendary status, as the leader of the Eight Kings, her threat assessment was surprisingly similar to Mai Shiranui’s level.

To make Gönitz understand reality, the two engaged in a simple clash of ultimate moves—just a few exchanges to see who was stronger.

When the fight ended, Gönitz no longer mentioned rushing into the enemy’s headquarters.

“I need time to adapt to this new body,” Gönitz said.

Fang Bo understood completely. Without absolute strength, charging into the NESTS’s base would be futile.

Other fighters needed to train tirelessly day after day to grow stronger, but Gönitz only needed to wait for her new body to adapt to Orochi’s bloodline power.

As for whether being in a female body would cause any inconvenience, Gönitz said, “I’ve reincarnated countless times, often in female forms. I’m quite used to it.”

From her words, it seemed she was satisfied with Mai Shiranui’s body.

Since she said as much, Fang Bo was happy to save his energy. Initially, he had planned to look for a suitable cyborg to modify, but now he was content with Gönitz’s “new form.”

As Fang Bo was deep in thought, a sudden gust of wind whipped past him. He turned and saw Gönitz, clad in a deep blue priestly robe, floating in mid-air.

The breeze gently lifted her skirt, revealing her smooth, long legs.

“Really white,” Fang Bo muttered, trying to regain his composure. He knew she had gone out earlier to find clothes.

Whatever he thought inside, Gönitz clearly could not tolerate the revealing ninja outfit.

“We can go now,” she said.

Fang Bo nodded, quickly packed up, and leaped out of the window.

He flagged down a car, and after a pleasant exchange, the driver willingly offered him the car for a month—on the condition that he spare his family’s lives.

“Such a coward. Even if he didn’t lend the car, would I have forcibly taken it?” Fang Bo muttered.

Gönitz had no comment. To her, human notions of good and evil meant nothing.

“So, where are we going to find help?” she asked.

“Don’t rush. The person we need is actually an old acquaintance of yours,” Fang Bo replied with a grin.

Before Gönitz could ask the name, both of them turned to look out the back window at the familiar motorcycle speeding toward them.

It was Terry Bogard, along with his ambiguous companion, Mary.

Terry’s sharp gaze, concealed beneath his hat, cut through the air like blades. But when he noticed Mai Shiranui sitting in the passenger seat, his expression shifted.

What’s going on? He thought. Didn’t they say Mai was kidnapped? She doesn’t look like she’s been forced.

Terry’s momentum faltered as he kept glancing toward the car ahead. Andy, the driver, had golden hair that glowed with a greenish hue.

“Slow down, don’t go too fast,” Terry quietly urged.

“Mm.” Mary responded, sweating lightly, and eased off the accelerator, deliberately falling behind.

Originally, they had two reasons to chase after Fang Bo. First, they had to rescue Mai, who had been kidnapped. Second, the police had issued a warrant for Fang Bo, so, as fellow fighters, they felt it was their duty to help.

But when they encountered Geese’s gang, they started to realize that there might be more to the situation than they knew.

This so-called warrant might hide secrets that no one understood.

Now that Mai was sitting awake in the passenger seat, the first reason didn’t seem to hold any weight anymore. Terry felt like he wished he hadn’t come here at all.

“Mai!” Andy called out desperately, slamming his foot on the accelerator, rushing forward.

Although he had always been passive in their relationship, his love for Mai was overwhelming. He had spent the entire night worrying about her, and now that he saw her alive, he couldn’t think of anything else.

Meanwhile, Easton, in the passenger seat, could sense the tension and muttered under his breath, “I shouldn’t have gotten involved in this.”

As he imagined the awkward scene that might unfold, Easton couldn’t help but wish someone would knock him out to spare him from facing his friends’ embarrassment.

On the other side, Gönitz began to notice something wasn’t right. She turned to Fang Bo and asked, “Where did you get this body from?”

“Definitely didn’t pick it up off the street,” Fang Bo replied, then slammed his foot on the accelerator.

The car roared to life, Fang Bo, with his level-2 basic driving skill, was essentially like a veteran driver with three years of experience.

Though his driving wasn’t extraordinary, it had long become second nature.

But unfortunately, this didn’t change the difference in vehicle performance. Gönitz’s sleek two-door sports car easily caught up with his ordinary sedan.

“Mai!” Andy continued calling out, trying to capture her attention.

His love was as deep as any melodramatic soap opera.

Gönitz’s brow furrowed as she recalled the group of men she once encountered in 1996, when she descended like a deity upon the King of Fighters tournament, easily toppling everyone in her path.

She remembered Kyo Kusanagi’s sharp gaze beneath his hat.

Kyo was no heir of the Three Sacred Treasures, nor related to any member of the Eight Kings. He had reached this level through his own hard work.

“Too bad, you still don’t understand the difference in talent,” Gönitz muttered as she extended her hand and waved it lightly.

The next moment, a violent wind rushed toward Andy’s two-door sports car.

Fatal Move: Night Wind!

Gönitz, her patience exhausted, finally made her move. Though her body was not yet at its peak, she was still the supreme leader of the Four Kings.

Boom! The car exploded in a burst of flames and debris, but fortunately, both fighters were unharmed.

“Mai!!!” Andy shouted, his voice filled with grief.

But by then, Gönitz’s car had already sped off, leaving them in the dust.

“Don’t! Mai’s still in that car!” Andy shouted, trying to stop Easton, who was getting ready to strike.

Hearing this, Easton hesitated, retracting his fist.

Unbeknownst to him, if they had struck, the two people in the car wouldn’t have been able to defend themselves. The best outcome would have been a messy escape.

Looking back at the brief clash they had earlier, Easton couldn’t help but ask, “Was the power Mai used… wind?”

It had been far more terrifying than his own wind powers.

He was confused. Wasn’t Mai’s style supposed to be based on flames?

At this moment, Mary’s motorcycle came to a slow stop on the roadside, both of them staring at their silent friend.

“Mai,” Andy muttered, regret in his voice. He thought it was his fault somehow.

“I’ll beg for your forgiveness next time we meet.”

Terry Bogard, however, was deep in thought, his gaze fixed on the place where the wind had just swept through.

Something about that power felt strangely familiar.
