FLDI Chapter 190

This entry is part 191 of 211 in the series Fantasy Lord: Start with Daily Intelligence

Figures began to appear one after another, and time slowly passed. In the blink of an eye, over a dozen individuals had been eliminated from the Divine Ruins. Most of them were the descendants of the powerful marquises from the Tulip family.

It wasn’t until more than two hours had passed that a descendant of a Duke family was eliminated.

When the figure appeared, one of the ten Sacred Realm knights immediately showed a grim expression.

“Hahaha, it seems that Sent is that boy from your family.”

A light laugh rang out.

The elderly man, who had a somber expression, became even more visibly grim upon hearing the comment.

“Humph!”

The sound of a cold snort rang through the air.

The others, noticing the elder’s sour expression, couldn’t help but smile faintly.

The pressure seemed to lift a little.

After all, the Battle of the Divine Realm was not something they could intervene in. They could only wait for the results.

And it was clear that this wasn’t something that would be decided in a day or two.

The three kingdom rulers had already reached the high-tier Divine Realm, and their actions were obviously premeditated. Though the Behemoth King surpassed the high-tier Divine Realm, the three kings were clearly confident and must have their own means. The battles between them, if things went wrong, could easily escalate into a battle of the Thousand-Day War in the Divine Realm.

In contrast, their focus now seemed to have returned to the original point.

It was somewhat gratifying to see that the other Sacred Realm descendants were having little success.

But this brief satisfaction didn’t last long for many.

Soon, the descendants from their own families started being eliminated as well.

Time slowly passed.

A full day passed in the blink of an eye.

The surrounding area gradually quieted down.

There had been over fifty knights who entered the Divine Ruins in the first batch, but by the end of the day, more than half of them had already been eliminated. While most of these were the descendants of the powerful marquis families from Tulip, there were also several from Sacred Realm families.

More importantly, just because no one had been eliminated recently didn’t mean they were still inside; it was just as likely that some had already died.

This made everyone’s smiles slowly fade away.

“Is the Divine Ruins too powerful this time?”

After a long silence, one person could no longer keep quiet.

Upon hearing this, even those who hadn’t been eliminated started to feel uneasy.

It was impossible not to worry. The elimination rate seemed much higher than they had imagined, and they had no choice but to be concerned.

They could accept losses, but only as long as they remained within an acceptable range.

If this time, everyone ended up failing, many families would face serious problems.

“Indeed, it might be a bit too much!”

“Half of the Divine Kingdom seems to have descended, and the power of the Divine Ruins is almost equivalent to the true arrival of a Divine Kingdom.”

“And it’s the death god Anubis. This Divine Ruins is bound to be extremely difficult.”

As the voice faded, another person spoke up. His tone was low, and his gaze remained fixed on the distant Divine Ruins.

At his words, many turned their gazes toward Karyenina.

“Everyone, this is not my doing. I had no part in this,” Karyenina spoke, a touch of helplessness in her voice. “And besides, the greater the difficulty, the greater the rewards. It all depends on who gets the opportunity.”

She naturally noticed the looks from others and couldn’t help but feel exasperated. Everyone had been discussing plans calmly, but now that something went wrong, they turned to her.

She almost felt like cursing, but thought better of it. There had been so many unexpected changes recently, and everyone’s mood was understandably unstable.

“Everyone, let us wait another day. If things aren’t improving, can we forcibly suppress the Divine Ruins?”

Suddenly, a voice cut through the air.

Everyone turned their eyes toward the remaining figures.

“Suppress the Divine Ruins?”

“That’s impossible. Though Anubis is only a lower-tier god, he is still a deity. There’s no way we mere Sacred Realm beings can suppress him.”

An elderly woman shook her head and frowned as she spoke.

“What are you talking about? When did Sacred Realm beings start suppressing the Divine Ruins? Do you think we’re in the Divine Realm?”

“It’s true that our strength alone isn’t enough,” another person said, nodding. “But with this… we should be able to manage.”

He raised his right hand gently, and a white feather appeared in his palm, glowing with a holy radiance, emanating a peaceful, soothing energy.

“What is this?”

At the sight of the feather, everyone was taken aback.

“A middle-tier angel’s feather? Anubi, you?” One of them gasped, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“I obtained this by accident on the Outer Battlefield. It should still hold enough power for a single strike, one that will be enough to briefly suppress the Divine Ruins.”

The woman, who was addressed as Anubi, spoke slowly, watching the others’ reactions.

“Can we?”

“Indeed, with the middle-tier angel’s feather, we should be able to temporarily suppress the Divine Ruins.”

“Anubi, what should we do?”

Everyone took a deep breath, then nodded in agreement. One of them spoke up, unable to hide his concerns.

At this moment, even they couldn’t help but worry for their own descendants.

“Well then, it’s settled. If, in the next two days, no one is eliminated, we’ll act together to suppress the Divine Ruins.”

Anubi nodded, making a decision.

The others agreed without hesitation.

At this point, those inside the Divine Ruins had no knowledge of the decision made by the Sacred Realm knights.

“Whoosh!”

The phantom waters of the River of Souls flowed, and the eerie aura of death continued to interweave. In one of the Divine Ruins spaces, Thor’s body had completely solidified. Not only his body, but even his knight’s spear had taken on a similarly solid form.

If anyone were to see Thor now, they would realize he had changed completely from before.

A chilling aura spread across his body, and a diamond-shaped crystal adorned his forehead. The power of ice elements interwoven around the crystal as it radiated an otherworldly glow.

At the same time, cold miasma seemed to emanate from his soul as well.

Previously, after signing a shared contract with Anna and under the influence of the natural elves, his life force had begun to undergo a transformation, slowly integrating ice elemental power.

But that had only been a transformation of his life force; his body hadn’t been affected.

Now, however, as he continued to slay werewolves formed by the laws, fragments of primordial power had converged, causing the ice elements in his body to evolve toward the law of ice.

And it wasn’t just the ice element. A pervasive deathly aura spread around him as well, the power of the law of death taking form.

A massive influx of primordial power had accelerated the growth of his soul force, and in the process, Thor gained a mysterious insight into the law of death.

Though this insight couldn’t be used immediately, the law of death was now beginning to spread across his being.

With the law of death, if Thor were to eventually break through to the Sacred Realm, there was a high chance he would be able to use it to enter the Divine Realm, overcoming a threshold that most Sacred Realm experts could never cross in their entire lives.

After all, the law of divine power was an insurmountable barrier for any Sacred Realm expert.

Understanding the law was a pursuit that every Sacred Realm cultivator had long sought after.

However, aside from the Divine Ruins, it was nearly impossible to comprehend the laws of the world.

Typically, the Divine Ruins could not accommodate Sacred Realm experts.

Even the most powerful Divine Ruins could only house Sky Knights.

The reason for this was simple: the space of the Sacred Realm clashed too strongly with the Divine Ruins. Either the Sacred Realm would cause the Divine Ruins to collapse, or the power of the Divine Ruins would overwhelm the Sacred Realm.

Over the past thousand years on the continent, those who had managed to break through into the Divine Realm were either exceedingly gifted or had entered the Divine Ruins or the Outer Battlefield.

Aside from that, stepping into the Divine Realm was almost impossible.

However, at this moment, Thor had found an opportunity.

And it wasn’t just the power of the Law of Death—he also had the power of the Law of Ice.

Of course, Thor was still far from reaching that step.

For now, he wasn’t thinking about it too much.

The wolves, densely packed, continued to charge forward one after another, but Thor was completely immersed in the hunt.

Compared to when he started, over time, the process of hunting had become much easier.

However, when this ease reached a certain threshold, something seemed to change.

The aura of death suddenly thickened, and in the next moment, the werewolves formed from death energy seemed to grow larger, and their surrounding death aura expanded even further.

Boom!

Thor’s lance shot out like a streak of light.

Yet, contrary to what had happened before—where the wolves were instantly pierced—the attack didn’t produce the same result. Instead, Thor felt a massive force strike him, and his body involuntarily staggered back several steps.

The werewolf, meanwhile, was flung away into the distance.

“Eh?”

A surprised sound escaped Thor’s lips, and he raised his brows, his expression tinged with unexpected surprise.

His mind snapped out of the trance-like state he had been in.

Howl!

A werewolf’s roar echoed nearby, and before he could fully process what had just happened, it lunged at him once more.

The death aura surrounding it made his soul instinctively tremble.

Thor’s brow furrowed slightly, and with a thought, the aura of death around him surged as well. His once snow-white knight’s lance transformed into a deep black color.

With a swift motion, Thor raised his lance and swept it horizontally toward the attacking werewolf.

Boom!

The massive werewolf’s body halted mid-air as Thor’s lance swept across its claws.

Crash!

The werewolf’s body dropped, but this time, it only staggered back four or five steps.

“Has it leveled up?”

Thor murmured softly, understanding the situation at once.

Clearly, as he continued hunting, the strength of the werewolves he faced had been steadily increasing.

Within the Divine Ruins, as one kills beings formed from the laws, the strength of these law-formed entities gradually rises after reaching a certain level. Killing these enhanced entities brings greater rewards.

It was rumored that if one could endure until the end and kill enough law-formed beings, it would not be impossible to harness all the power of the laws in the Divine Ruins.

Of course, reaching this point was extraordinarily difficult.

On the entire continent, there were only a few who had ever achieved it.

This was not about strength alone, but rather the depth of one’s understanding of the laws of power.

The deeper one’s comprehension, the longer they could endure, and the more law-formed entities they could defeat.

Otherwise, even if you lasted, if you didn’t kill enough, you wouldn’t gain enough power from the laws. At best, you would be merely refining yourself.

“Bring it on!”

Recalling the information about the Divine Ruins in his mind, Thor shouted out, and in the next moment, the ice-cold aura on his lance mingled with the death aura, causing a biting chill to spread through the darkness.

Thor’s figure surged forward once more.

A powerful soul force erupted as the laws of death and ice intertwined.

This time, one werewolf barely managed to block, but as their deathly aura tangled, the chilling power completely froze it.

With a final crash, its massive body was sent flying into the distance.

Then, an even denser stream of primal energy, infused with death energy, rushed toward him.

Thor’s body slightly trembled, and his already nearly-solidified soul seemed to solidify even further. At the same time, the aura of death around him expanded.

Sensing the change within himself, Thor’s eyes lit up.

His gaze instantly locked onto the remaining werewolves.

The hunt began anew.

Though the werewolves’ strength had increased, with his own law power continuously growing, Thor was still able to handle them—though it was becoming a bit more troublesome.

Soon, the seventh day arrived.

Seven days had passed.

A sigh of relief escaped the ten Sacred Realm experts, though they exchanged wary glances.

The number of eliminations over the past seven days wasn’t as high as on the first day, but it was still substantial. The plan to act had been postponed.

But with the continuous eliminations, including some from their own families, everyone’s expression grew increasingly grim.

Only one woman, who had been nervously glancing around, seemed the most tense.

For the past few days, she hadn’t seen any sign of her own descendant.

A few times, she had been on the verge of taking action, but she had refrained at the last moment.

She wasn’t sure if her descendant was absorbing the power of the laws. If that were the case, interfering now would cause her to miss the opportunity.

Fortunately, this anxiety only lasted until the seventh day, when her heart finally settled.

In her line of sight, Isabelle’s figure appeared, and the fluctuations of her life force had noticeably expanded, nearly reaching the late-stage Earth Knight level.
