The Goblin King’s troops were unwaveringly loyal to his commands, attacking the ambushed enemies in the forest with unyielding determination. Even as their comrades fell one by one, they never questioned his orders, believing that victory was certain as long as they continued their charge.
“My plan is flawless. Even if my troops follow me without question, what’s wrong with that?”
The problems lay entirely with them.
Faced with a goblin army several times their size, the ambushed forces stood no chance of holding out, especially with my elite assassination squad in their midst.
“Who is commanding the rescue team?”
Turning around, the Goblin King surveyed the chaotic battlefield. The goblin troops were unwavering, with only a few retreating, yet they continued their assaults under the main force’s onslaught.
The adventurers fought hidden in the woods, with magic flying everywhere. They grew bolder with each battle and showed no signs of fatigue due to frequent rest rotations.
The central commander of the rescue team was an unremarkable young adventurer, the same boy the Goblin King had seen winning a battle with cunning two days earlier through a crystal ball.
“So, it’s him who’s been commanding the troops all along.”
The Goblin King’s face twisted in rage. “Damn it, if I can get to him in time, I’ll crush him. Once he’s dealt with, my army can wipe them out completely.”
As the Goblin King stepped forward, Andeno’s fist came whistling through the air, “Being distracted in battle is a no-go! BABY! Take this ‘Supreme Punch!’”
“Get lost!” The Goblin King didn’t dodge but took Andeno’s punch directly to his chest. He then kicked Andeno in the stomach, sending him flying.
Andeno soared like an arrow and crashed into a wooden palace, splintering the wooden boards and scattering a row of crystal balls.
Blood flowed, and Andeno lay in a dire state, unable to fight further. The Goblin King didn’t finish him off but rushed towards the battlefield.
To his surprise, the boy who had been commanding the battle stepped to the front of the rescue team, rubbing his shoulder.
“He’s coming out to die on his own.”
The Goblin King, brimming with confidence, swung his staff horizontally, ready to crush the boy into pulp with one blow.
However, Yang Yu simply ducked and completely evaded the Goblin King’s attack, letting the staff strike a tree, which split in half.
Stunned, the Goblin King couldn’t believe the boy had dodged his deadly blow so easily. Despite exuding the aura of a weakling, there was no fear in his eyes.
“Who are you?”
“You sure are enthusiastic, charging at me like this.” Yang Yu teased, his face full of confidence, a slight smirk on his lips. “Your next line is, ‘How did you dodge my attack?'”
“How did you dodge my attack?”
What?
The Goblin King’s eyes widened.
“Why did I dodge your attack? Hmm—probably because I saw through all your moves. I thought you’d be tough, but it’s just the same few tricks.”
“Impossible! How can you command the troops so well while observing my moves and finding my weaknesses? Even I can’t do that…”
How to explain? My teammates are too reliable. Every decision I make, they execute better than I imagined, leaving me plenty of free time to watch you.
Of course, Yang Yu wouldn’t reveal the truth. He quickly deduced the Goblin King was targeting the rescue team.
“Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean others can’t. Maybe it’s because you’re not that smart?”
Now that the rescue team’s defenses were solid, the goblin army was exhausted. Victory was only a matter of time. The only way to change the battle’s tide was for the boss to intervene.
But Yang Yu hadn’t expected the Goblin King to take Andeno’s blow and forcefully kick him away, rushing over.
So, he quickly delegated some tasks, handed over command to Sekamens, and stepped forward.
“Let me give you some advice: battles aren’t won this way. Don’t think sheer numbers guarantee victory. A skilled commander can easily turn the tide. And, well, I’m quite excellent.”
Yang Yu deliberately provoked the Goblin King, trying to draw all his attacks to himself.
“But, even with ten times the troops, a sensible commander wouldn’t be easily defeated. You must be pretty simple-minded. In other words, you’re trash.”
Provoking further, Yang Yu hoped to gain the “Taunt” skill by drawing more aggro.
“You bastard!” The Goblin King roared, gripping his staff as flames erupted from it, dancing on his black armor. “Do you know how I rose to this position?”
“I don’t, but if it were me, I’d do a better job.” Yang Yu continued to taunt.
“You’re so ignorant!”
Furious, the Goblin King attacked Yang Yu with his staff, but Yang Yu dodged each strike effortlessly.
After Andeno’s efforts, the Goblin King’s health was halved, while Yang Yu still had 70% left, perfectly positioned to use his “Killing Intent” skill and withstand the Goblin King’s blow.
Enraged, the Goblin King kept swinging his staff, but Yang Yu saw through every move and skill.
Compared to the numerous traps in Mario, the Goblin King’s attacks were easy to dodge.
Since his attacks were so weak, Yang Yu didn’t aim to defeat the Goblin King alone. He had only one goal: to stall for time.
One, to let the rescue team gain the upper hand. Two, to allow the healer he sent to treat Andeno’s injuries so he could rejoin the battle.
After many missed attacks, the Goblin King began to calm down. Why is he only dodging and not attacking? If he sees through all my moves, why not counterattack?
Is he really just stalling for time? Without a commander, the longer this drags on, the worse it should be for them!
The Goblin King feigned a vulnerability and glanced at the clashing armies. During his entanglement with Yang Yu, his goblin troops had fallen to a disadvantage.
