FLDI Chapter 209

This entry is part 210 of 211 in the series Fantasy Lord: Start with Daily Intelligence

“Yes!”

“My lord!”

In the study, Rachos Asad responded respectfully. Even though he had planned to rest for a few days, if Thor had arranged something, he wouldn’t slack off.

“By the way, you can try approaching the Asad family. If they’re willing to give up, the Eagle Chamber of Commerce can take the lead in establishing trade with them. If they’re not willing, then forget about it.”

Thor nodded and then paused for a moment before speaking in a low voice.

Due to Rachos’ relationship, Thor didn’t mind giving the Asad family’s expansion knights a chance. However, whether they could seize the opportunity was up to them.

“Thank you, my lord!”

Rachos was momentarily stunned but quickly spoke up.

Compared to the outside world, he had a much deeper understanding of the power of the Eagle Territory. As long as the three powerful marquis heirs didn’t show up to target Thor, Rachos believed it would be very difficult for anyone to challenge him.

For Thor to still remember the Asad family was indeed a pleasant surprise.

“Go ahead.”

“Oh, and next month, you can come to the Eagle Territory to exchange for a bottle of intermediate Life Potion. From now on, you’ll have the chance to exchange for one every year.”

Thor nodded, but as he spoke, he seemed to remember something and added, “Of course, this will be the minimum.”

“Yes, my lord!”

Rachos’ face showed a hint of surprise, but he quickly nodded.

Afterward, he slowly withdrew.

As he left the castle, Rachos couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe as he looked at the Eagle Territory.

It was clear that his earlier decision was correct. In just two short years, the Eagle Territory had already reached this scale.

Once this challenge was overcome, the Eagle Territory would undoubtedly take another step forward.

More importantly, Thor Dresrosa’s abilities were astounding. In just a few months, he had gone from providing low-level Life Potions to now offering intermediate Life Potions.

In another two years, even Rachos couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement.

As the setting sun bathed the land, Rachos’ footsteps quickened as he walked towards the distance.

Back in the study, Thor continued dealing with related affairs.

Time passed slowly.

Several more days went by.

For Thor, the past few days had been relatively peaceful. The only major change was that the Dresrosa family, specifically his cousin Rubi’s father, Burton Dresrosa, along with two other Earth Knights from the Dresrosa family, had arrived in the Northern Province.

This had increased Thor’s Earth Knight count once again.

As of now, the Eagle Chamber of Commerce had ten Earth Knights, making them the unquestionable powerhouse of the entire Northern Province.

Of course, the outside world was still unaware of these developments. Most people only knew about Michael, the Bloody Knight, and Chessier, the Shadow Knight, along with Rachos Asad and the two Earth Knights from Joz Anubi’s faction.

The arrival of Burton Dresrosa and the two other Earth Knights from the Dresrosa family might have been known to some, but others were still in the dark.

This was perfectly normal.

Thor and Lyan’s breakthroughs to the Earth Knight realm had only been revealed twice. The first was when they returned to the territory and witnessed the burial of Sejish Spencer, Water, and their knight regiment, who had long been buried in the canyon, their bodies likely devoured by magical beasts.

The second time was when Thor fought Michael.

The outside world still didn’t know about the latter.

And this ignorance was deadly for the outside world. After all, it wasn’t just two additional Earth Knights—Lyan’s strength was comparable to Michael’s. Even if there were some gaps, the difference wouldn’t be significant. This was still without Lyan having fully grasped his Law Mark; if he had, his power would have increased even further.

Thor’s strength was undoubtedly stronger, with two Law Marks. The Snow Law Mark was already showing signs of mastery, and his power had reached an astonishing level. Except for his inability to fly, his strength could likely rival that of a newly advanced Sky Knight.

With such power, Thor was already a force that could crush anything in the entire Northern Province.

Of course, the outside world had no way of knowing this, and as the news spread, many powerful nobles began to harbor other thoughts after the initial shock.

Michael, the peak Earth Knight, Chessier, the late Earth Knight, along with the mid-level Earth Knight from Joz Anubi’s faction, and the three early-stage Earth Knights from the Dresrosa family—this strength wouldn’t scare them.

While facing one family might be difficult, it didn’t mean that a coalition of nobles couldn’t handle it.

Especially with the arrival of more powerful noble heirs in the Northern Province, they began to develop new ideas.

Western Region

A hundred miles from the Bern Dresrosa Territory, there was a powerful noble heir’s domain. However, due to a divine awakening incident, this heir had chosen to retreat.

Though he managed to retreat safely, the divine awakening event at the Temple of Ruins was far more dangerous than he anticipated. The aura of the Behemoth King had crushed him, leaving his domain vacant.

Now, the territory had been occupied by Moravi Spencer, an expansion knight of the Spencer family.

As a strong marquis heir, Moravi Spencer was among the most powerful noble heirs to have recently arrived in the Northern Province.

This time, he had brought a peak Earth Knight and four mid-level Earth Knights. His ambition wasn’t just for the Northern Province but for the Northern Border as well.

His plan was to use the Northern Province as a base, gradually establish a firm foothold, and then head north to earn enough merit points.

However, his first step was met with a major setback.

He had originally thought that the Dresrosa family would be an easy target—after all, they had seized so many resources through underhanded means. He believed taking a third of them would be an easy task.

But to be cautious, he hadn’t acted recklessly. Instead, he began scouting.

What he didn’t expect was that just as he was about to take action, a shocking piece of news swept through the region.

Lyan Water, a noble heir of considerable strength, had attacked the Eagle Territory’s resource points.

The result was a total defeat.

Not only was the knight regiment nearly annihilated, but Lyan Water himself was captured. To make matters worse, the Dresrosa family had apparently gone mad, even sending the Bloody Knight and Shadow Knight to the Northern Province.

The Shadow Knight was formidable, but he was only a late-stage Earth Knight. The peak Earth Knight he had brought should be enough to handle him.

But the Bloody Knight was another story. He had earned a fearsome reputation in the Northern Border. Moravi knew that the peak Earth Knight he brought couldn’t possibly match up.

And it didn’t end there. Just a few days later, more news came in—the Dresrosa family had sent three more Earth Knights to the Northern Province.

At this moment, Moravi couldn’t help but wonder: Has Count Engel gone mad? Or does the entire Dresrosa family no longer care about their territory?

Could they really be planning to move all their operations to the Northern Province?

How much power had they sent?

The most important Earth Knights of the Dresrosa family—the Bloody Knight and the Shadow Knight—arrived, followed by two more Earth Knights.

The Dresrosa family was merely a Count-level family, and with such strength, even if it wasn’t their full power, it was likely close enough.

However, no matter how they thought about it, Moravi Spencer seemed to be forced to confront a deadly problem: with his current strength, he couldn’t absorb the power of the Eagle Chamber of Commerce. Forget about a third, he couldn’t even handle a fraction of it.

As for asking for help from his family, he was just the legitimate son, not the heir. His father wasn’t Count Engel, so there was no way he could expect much more support; this was already the limit.

The situation had undoubtedly taken a drastic turn.

At this point, Moravi Spencer couldn’t help but become a bit impatient.

And as his impatience grew, more news arrived.

One particular piece of information made him furrow his brow: Three powerful marquis heirs—one of them had already decided to head to the Northern Province.

Although it was only one, as powerful marquises, they knew full well that the three families were on a completely different level from theirs.

Each of these top-tier marquis families had at least one Sky Knight.

Rumors suggested that the three top-tier marquis families each had at least three Sky Knights.

But that was just hearsay. Thanks to his grandfather’s favor, Moravi Spencer knew much more. He understood that the three premier marquis heirs likely had more than just three Sky Knights. It was rumored that some even had peak Sky Knights nearing the power of a Holy Knight.

Such strength was beyond what their family could compare to.

Once that one powerful marquis heir arrived, it was possible that they would be left with nothing.

On the other hand, if they could seize some advantage early, even if they had to give up some later, they would still retain some benefits.

After all, the ten major noble families often intermarried, and there was still some mutual respect between them.

In his growing anxiety, Moravi Spencer could no longer hold back.

Five days ago, he sent invitations to the powerful noble heirs he knew, inviting them to come to his territory for discussions.

Faced with his invitation, most of the powerful heirs agreed.

After all, Moravi Spencer knew things that they, as nobles of the same rank, also knew.

They too were caught in a similar sense of urgency.

Moravi Spencer’s invitation was not something they could refuse.

Over the next few days, noble heirs arrived one by one.

By the fifth day, no new noble heirs had shown up.

At this point, more than twenty-seven powerful noble heirs had gathered at Moravi Spencer’s castle, including seventeen strong marquis heirs, eight marquis heirs, and two powerful count heirs.

“Has the Asad family sent a response yet?”

Inside the room, as the light outside began to fade, Moravi Spencer looked toward his attendant.

“Not yet, my lord.”

The attendant answered respectfully, his expression tense.

“Then there’s no need to wait. Tell them to head to the banquet hall,” Moravi Spencer said, furrowing his brow slightly but then nodding. He stood up to leave.

“Yes, my lord!”

The attendant sighed in relief and quickly nodded in agreement before retreating.

Moravi Spencer made his way to the banquet hall.

By the time he arrived, the twenty-seven noble heirs had already gathered in the meeting hall and were greeting each other.

“Lord Moravi Spencer!”

“Lord Moravi!”

As Moravi Spencer entered, the noble heirs all greeted him.

Among them, Moravi Spencer was undoubtedly one of the strongest, so most of them treated him with great respect.

“Please, no need for such formalities,” Moravi Spencer said as he looked around at the crowd.

“I’ve invited you all here for one purpose—I’m sure you’ve all heard about the news from a few days ago.”

In a deep voice, Moravi Spencer’s gaze swept over everyone.

“Yes, we’ve heard. Apparently, that fool Lyan Water was captured by the Dresrosa family. He’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Someone couldn’t help but laugh lightly, their words tinged with a hint of schadenfreude.

However, their smugness didn’t invite any further agreement from the others, making the situation awkward.

Moravi Spencer glanced briefly at the person who spoke, his brows furrowing slightly, but he said nothing.

Of course, just because Moravi Spencer didn’t speak didn’t mean others wouldn’t.

“Pal, your foolishness doesn’t mean everyone else is foolish,” a voice suddenly interrupted.

“Lord Moravi Spencer, is the Dresrosa family insane? I’ve heard they’ve even sent the Bloody Knight. What exactly do they want? Are they trying to expand in the Northern Province? But that’s impossible!”

A powerful noble heir disdainfully looked at the one who had mocked Lyan Water and then spoke in a low voice.

“Jessica, what did you say?” The first speaker’s face changed immediately, his voice rising in anger.

“Enough, this isn’t the place for bickering,” Moravi Spencer intervened.

“I don’t know what the Dresrosa family is trying to do. But one thing is certain: taking back the resources the Dresrosa family has seized won’t be as easy as we thought.”
