Chapter 44: New Intelligence

One day later, Racios Assad left, filled with excitement. Before departing, he left behind all the supplies he had brought, including a large quantity of food and materials, clearly intended to support Eagle Ridge. As he left, he took with him 100 sets of black iron armor, one set of silver armor, and over a hundred knights.

Thus began his journey to establish the trade routes.

Thor gave Racios his most sincere blessings, as the success of these trade routes was crucial to the ongoing development of Eagle Ridge. This was especially important for its future growth.

The speed at which Eagle Ridge could continue to expand was vital, and after seeing Racios off, Thor turned his attention back to planning the construction of his territory, while also awaiting the upcoming auction in Loren City.

With the assistance of the Daily Intelligence System, the development of Eagle Ridge continued without any interruptions.

Soon, another month passed.

During this month, good news arrived from Racios. The establishment of the trade routes was progressing more smoothly than expected. In less than a month, he had already opened trade with three pioneering knights’ territories. It was anticipated that by the end of the year, they would have established trade with over thirty pioneering lords, and if luck held, perhaps even with a few titled noble lords.

Meanwhile, at Eagle Ridge, the basic infrastructure was completely finished within the month. If before it resembled a small town, it had now truly become a small town, and had expanded to twice its original size. Its land area was no less than that of some baronial territories.

What thrilled Thor even more was Raine’s rapid progress in his training.

With the guidance of Niel Morton, Raine’s training had advanced at a rocket-like pace. He was on the verge of breaking through to the mid-stage of a full knight, and it wouldn’t be long before Thor’s first guardian knight would reach that level. At this rate, Raine could reach the peak of full knighthood within a year, and there was a high possibility he would become a great knight within three years.

In ten years, he was almost certain to break through to become an earth knight, and within thirty years, he might even reach the level of a sky knight.

The thought of Raine becoming a sky knight in thirty years was enough to excite anyone.

A sky knight was among the top-tier warriors of the kingdom.

A single sky knight would be enough to elevate Thor’s title to marquis, with a chance of even reaching the rank of duke. After all, the three dukes of the kingdom had earned their titles because a sky knight had emerged from their ranks and contributed significantly to the kingdom’s wars.

Having a sky knight would lay a solid foundation for such ambitions.

The mere thought of this future was enough to fill Thor with excitement.

Of course, Niel Morton was even more excited.

After training Raine, he realized that Raine’s talent far exceeded his expectations. Whereas before, he had speculated that Raine might break through to become a Saint Knight, now he was almost certain of it.

Such talent was rare, even among the geniuses of the empire.

A Saint Knight!

Even in the empire, such figures were rare, and each one was treated with the highest honor. If Raine were to reach the empire, his arrival would surely cause a sensation, and the resources available to him would be unimaginable.

At one point, Niel Morton was even tempted to take Raine away by force.

But ultimately, he held back.

For one thing, he wasn’t that kind of person. For another, the situation in the empire was currently unstable, and rushing Raine into that environment might not be a good idea. Even Niel Morton himself preferred to stay away from it for the time being.

So, in the end, he decided to stay.

Of course, Thor knew none of this.

He wasn’t particularly concerned about Niel Morton, as the Daily Intelligence would notify him if there were any issues. After several months without any alerts regarding Niel Morton, Thor felt reassured that there would be no problems.

And indeed, that was the case.

Night passed quietly.

A new day gradually came to an end, bringing with it a slight chill in the air.

Right on schedule, the Daily Intelligence updated.

[Daily Intelligence Updated]

– 1: A herd of boar beasts will pass through your territory, 500 miles north, and their leader appears to be on the verge of breaking through to Tier 3.

– 2: To the west of your territory, in the lands of Baron Wells, a serf has accidentally discovered that grafting fern roots onto a Fire Spirit Tree increases its yield.

– 3: In seven days, the slave market in Loren City will offer a group of special slaves. Among them is a boy named Allen, who possesses an affinity for all living creatures. As a breeder, he can not only cultivate species but also has a certain chance of enabling their evolution.

– 4: In seven days, a Thunderstone will be auctioned in Loren City. It is one of the main materials used to create magical crystal cannons.

– 5: In seven days, a herd of unicorns will be foraging to the west of your territory.

– 6: Engel Dresrosa seems to be facing some difficulties due to limitations in his own strength.

As line after line of information appeared, Thor took note of the new intelligence.

Just as he expected, this time there was news about the upcoming auction. And what thrilled him even more was that there was something at the auction that truly piqued his interest.

The Thunderstone, a magical stone from the Thunder Abyss of the Aegean Sea, contained powerful thunder energy and was one of the main materials used to craft magical crystal cannons. Acquiring it would allow him to begin constructing such a weapon.

On top of that, there was another surprise.

The boy with the affinity for all living creatures.

The ability to help species evolve.

Thor’s mind immediately turned to the herd of unicorns.

For some time, he had refrained from capturing the wild unicorns, mainly because he lacked a proper breeder. Without one, it was impossible to domesticate wild magical beasts.

But now, with the appearance of a young breeder possessing such a remarkable talent, it was like a pillow being given to someone who was just about to fall asleep.

And these weren’t just any beasts—they were unicorns.

Most unicorns were Tier 1 magical beasts, with their leader at the peak of Tier 2.

If Thor could replace his knights’ horses with unicorns, the strength of Eagle Ridge would grow significantly.
