**Chapter 81: The Symbiotic Contract**
The frigid air spread continuously, as snowflakes formed a massive storm.
The storm expanded, transforming the entire world into a blinding white expanse.
At the periphery, Thor and his group watched anxiously.
In the center of the canyon, amidst a world entirely shaped by snow and ice, a massive vortex took form.
At the heart of this vortex was a concentrated, pure mass of water elements, unlike ordinary water elements. These elements carried a freezing cold, seemingly capable of freezing everything in their path.
Anna continued to move forward, step by step, even as the magical barriers around her shattered one by one, leaving only a weak, flickering layer. This final shield was barely holding together, yet she kept moving toward the center.
Suddenly, there was a crisp cracking sound. The last protective barrier shattered completely, and frost began to creep over her body.
“Oh great Goddess of Life, hear my plea. In this moment of nature’s birth, grant me the chance for symbiosis with the child of nature,” Anna whispered. Her lips had already turned pale from the cold, but her voice still carried a strange power. It pierced through the wind and snow, traveling toward the heart of the vortex.
Inside the vortex, the faint, tiny figure solidified a bit more, as if responding to Anna’s call.
But at that moment, Anna’s body stiffened, unable to move further. The intense cold began to freeze her skin and slowly spread across her entire body.
“Is it impossible?” This was Anna’s final thought before her consciousness faded into darkness.
Just then, a soft hum echoed.
Ripples spread out, and at the vortex’s center, a pale blue magic circle appeared. Simultaneously, beneath Anna’s frozen body, another pale blue magic circle lit up.
As both magic circles activated, a torrent of water elements—or more accurately, higher-tier ice elements—began to gather.
Boom!
The storm intensified, and the extreme cold surged, spreading outward.
No—rather than spreading, the cold was being drawn toward Anna and the vortex’s center.
In that moment, the world began to freeze over. Even life energy could no longer hold out against the icy force.
At the periphery, one of the knights spoke up, struggling against the cold. “My lord, we must leave immediately!”
“Yes, my lord. The cold is growing stronger, and the magical barriers won’t last much longer,” another knight echoed.
“Just a little longer,” Thor gritted his teeth, glancing at the last remaining magical shield that was now flickering unsteadily. He made the decision to stay.
Despite their growing concern, the knights could only wait, anxious but obedient.
Time passed slowly.
Crack!
Another barrier shattered, leaving only the last layer of protection. Thor knew it would barely last for three more breaths before breaking, but then something unexpected happened. The fierce wind and snow began to calm, and the biting cold seemed to recede.
No, it wasn’t receding—it was all being drawn inward, toward the center.
“What… what is this?” Thor immediately noticed the shift and looked toward the heart of the storm, a glimmer of hope appearing on his face.
The knights noticed it too, and murmurs of surprise filled the air.
But Thor ignored them, his eyes fixed on the scene ahead.
Then, as if confirming his thoughts, a ripple of energy spread out, and a pale blue magic circle materialized in the sky above. Soon, a second magic circle appeared, both glowing with a frosty light and covering the entire sky.
The surrounding snow and cold vanished entirely.
In the center of the vortex, Anna’s figure floated into the air, surrounded by the pale blue magic circles. After a moment, a small, pale blue figure shot out from one of the magic circles, flying toward Anna.
In that instant, the magic circle seemed to activate fully, releasing a massive wave of ice elements.
Anna’s disguise fell away, revealing her pale skin, delicate features, and pointed ears. She was now adorned in an elegant, pale blue gown, surrounded by countless swirling ice elements. Above her head, a small, joyful figure floated—a tiny ice-blue spirit, no bigger than a hand, with crystalline, transparent skin.
It had dark blue diamond-shaped markings on its inner ears, body, and tail, contrasting against its pale blue color. Its hands and feet appeared dark blue, as if wearing boots. Two pairs of delicate blue wings fluttered gently behind it, making the spirit look especially cute.
It circled Anna joyfully.
“We’re partners now! Can I give you a name?” Anna asked, her excitement evident as she gazed at the tiny spirit.
“Of course! We are partners now,” the ice spirit replied with a cheerful voice, curious about everything in its new world.
“Then, I’ll call you Nico. My name is Anna,” she said, smiling.
“Nico! Nico has a name now! Anna, Anna!” the ice spirit repeated excitedly as it danced around.
Anna couldn’t help but smile too.
With this symbiotic contract, Anna had fully transformed into a true elf, becoming something even closer to a nature spirit. No longer a half-elf, her magical abilities had grown significantly as well.
She could now sense her potential to control even higher-tier magic, and the benefits didn’t stop there. Some aspects of this symbiotic bond were so profound that she couldn’t fully comprehend them yet.
The symbiotic contract was one of the most powerful magical bonds, offering unimaginable advantages. And with a Nature Spirit as her partner, those advantages were magnified even more.
Feeling a surge of emotion, Anna glanced at Thor, her thoughts suddenly shifting. She made a decision.
“Nico, I need to form another symbiotic bond—with someone very important to me. Will that be alright?” she asked, turning toward the joyful ice spirit.
“Of course! Someone important to Anna is important to Nico too,” Nico said cheerfully, completely trusting Anna.
Anna smiled, nodding in gratitude. Ice elements swirled around her as she floated toward Thor.
