- Global Reincarnation: Only I Know the Plot
- GROIKTP Chapter 384
What happened next completely transformed the little girl’s perception of mutants.
In her memory, no matter how powerful a mutant was, none could ever stand a chance against a Sentinel.
But now!!
The man before her effortlessly crushed the Sentinel…
It was unbelievable.
*Thud!*
With a single punch, Chen Ye slammed the Sentinel’s head, smashing it to the ground. Half of its head was completely gone.
As he struck, Chen Ye calmly said, “What? Besides using your hands and laser beams, you have no other attacks?”
Chen Ye walked over, grabbed the Sentinel by its neck, and coldly said, “If this is all you’ve got, then you’re useless!”
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt a sudden chill.
The Sentinel in his grip began to turn cold. Frost and ice spread across its body and along Chen Ye’s arm, quickly creeping up toward his body.
In the blink of an eye, half of Chen Ye’s body was frozen solid.
The sudden change surprised Chen Ye!
“So, you can’t release freezing cold like Iceman, but need physical contact to freeze your opponent?” Chen Ye mused aloud. “Looks like, even though you can mimic other mutants’ abilities, there are clear limitations.”
The Sentinel didn’t care about Chen Ye’s remarks.
Seeing that its powerful enemy seemed to be frozen, the Sentinel intensified the freezing process, rapidly covering Chen Ye in ice.
In just a few breaths, Chen Ye was entirely encased in ice, turned into a giant frozen statue emitting cold air.
The little girl nearby looked on in despair…
In the next moment, there was a slight tremor from within Chen Ye’s body.
*Crack!*
A sharp sound rang out!
All the ice covering Chen Ye shattered in an instant, scattering across the ground.
Chen Ye had used his Tremor-Tremor Fruit powers!
(In *One Piece*, Whitebeard used the same powers to break free from Aokiji’s ice during the Marineford War.)
Chen Ye dusted off the remaining ice from his shoulder, grinning. “Not bad, not bad. That last attack was quite effective. I’m actually feeling a little chilly now!”
The Sentinel, baffled, stared at Chen Ye. It was as though this “mutant” standing before it was something beyond its understanding.
Yet, loyal to its mission, the Sentinel raised its spear arm and lunged at Chen Ye with force.
*Ding!*
The spear seemed to strike solid steel.
The Sentinel’s spear arm instantly snapped.
And Chen Ye?
He was perfectly unharmed!
His mastery of Armament Haki was at its peak, and no simple physical attack could break through it.
Seeing Chen Ye’s skin turn black in an instant, the Sentinel’s red electronic eyes flashed even brighter.
In the next moment, its own skin began to darken, but it malfunctioned, flickering on and off.
“You’re trying to copy my ability?” Chen Ye was momentarily surprised before he laughed. “I’m not like those other mutants… The game’s over!”
As he spoke, Chen Ye strode forward, delivering a sweeping kick that sent the Sentinel crashing to the ground. Then, with his left hand, he pinned the Sentinel’s head to the ground.
The Sentinel immediately began to struggle violently.
Its body shifted from fiery red, to icy white, and even to steel… But no matter which mutant ability it used, it was futile.
Chen Ye’s hand, as immovable as a mountain, held it firmly in place.
Neither heat nor freezing could affect Chen Ye in the slightest.
In front of him, the Sentinel was no more threatening than a helpless child facing a hulking predator…
Soon after, Chen Ye pulled out a modified USB device!
He connected it to the Sentinel.
The moment the USB interface touched the robot, the Sentinel stopped struggling and became completely still.
On the display screen of the USB, a progress bar appeared.
“1%, 2%, 3%…”
Though the Sentinel was equipped with advanced electronics, its core systems were still computer-based, programmed to hunt mutants.
And as long as it was a computer, the modified USB was its nemesis!
When the progress bar hit 100%, the Sentinel immediately stood up.
But now, it stood calmly beside Chen Ye, showing no signs of aggression.
As Chen Ye withdrew his hand from the robot, a system prompt appeared:
“You have discovered a special item…”
Chen Ye smiled and, with a tap of his hand, the Sentinel vanished, stored into his personal inventory.
The Sentinel’s combat abilities were indeed impressive.
Chen Ye decided he would capture a few more of them!
Although he wouldn’t need them personally, they would make great gifts for others.
“Oh my gosh!”
The little girl emerged from her hiding spot, glancing around in disbelief, trying to find the Sentinel.
“This is unbelievable… Sir, where did that monster go?”
“It’s been dealt with,” Chen Ye replied casually, not offering much explanation.
“Sir, you’re incredibly powerful!” The little girl looked up at Chen Ye, her eyes filled with admiration and politeness.
Chen Ye studied the girl. She seemed to be around thirteen or fourteen, with light red hair and delicate features. Her skin was pale but covered in dirt and grime, with smudges of oil and dust on her little face.
“I saw you collecting things,” Chen Ye pointed to her satchel and asked, “What are you doing with those discarded parts?”
The girl, without hesitation, answered, “Uncle Mark needs them. I collect them for him, and in return, Uncle Mark gives me food.”
So, she was trading parts for food.
Chen Ye nodded and asked, “Where’s this Uncle Mark of yours?”
“At our camp.”
“Can you take me to him?”
“Of course!” The girl replied excitedly. “A powerful mutant like you is rare. Everyone will be happy to meet you.”
Just then, a flying craft appeared in the distant sky.
Upon seeing it, the girl shouted in fear, “Oh no, those monsters are back! Sir, we have to leave quickly!”
“There’s no escaping now,” Chen Ye calmly remarked.
