- Global Reincarnation: Only I Know the Plot
- GROIKTP Chapter 390
The mutant squad had suffered heavy losses while being hunted by the reincarnators.
Iceman and Sunspot (a mutant similar to Pyro) were severely injured.
Colossus was killed by a mysterious toxin!
Pathfinder (the weakling who wielded two daggers) also perished in the battle!
Even the “Living Weapon” (the one wielding a gun) was dead.
As for the key figure in their plan, **Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat)**, she had been stabbed through the abdomen and was now unconscious.
The only one who remained unscathed was **Blink**.
“No! Kitty, wake up…” Iceman was holding Kitty Pryde tightly, his face filled with anxiety and worry.
He was her boyfriend, after all.
Storm approached to examine Kitty’s injuries, then spoke gravely, “She needs a doctor!”
The expressions of the surrounding mutants turned grim.
As mutants hunted by the Sentinels, they couldn’t risk going to a hospital. Seeking medical help was nearly impossible for them.
Wolverine thought for a moment before speaking. “I know a guy—a pretty good doctor.”
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Iceman urged.
The group of mutants quickly boarded the plane.
…
**Inside the Cabin.**
The atmosphere was heavy and somber.
Each mutant bore a look of deep concern. Their losses had been severe, and the key figure of their plan, Kitty Pryde, was critically injured. Without her powers, their “Days of Future Past” plan couldn’t proceed.
The appearance of the reincarnators had completely wrecked their plans.
Amidst the tension, Chen Ye remained calm.
Sitting next to Blink, his gaze wandered toward her.
Blink had black hair and black eyes, and like Chen Ye, she was of Asian descent. Her delicate features reminded him of a celebrity from his past life…
Noticing his stare, Blink couldn’t help but turn her head and whisper, “Hey! Why are you staring at me?”
“You look familiar,” Chen Ye replied with a smile.
“Is that your way of flirting?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“You misunderstand. I’m just curious about your abilities.”
Blink’s power allowed her to create spatial portals for short-distance teleportation. Though not very powerful in battle, it was incredibly useful and fascinating.
“Hmph!” Blink scoffed, thinking Chen Ye’s approach was a weak attempt at flirting.
Given the dire situation, with everyone grieving, she found it heartless that this guy was trying to flirt at such a time.
Seeing her turn away, Chen Ye chuckled to himself but didn’t dwell on it.
“Damn it!” Wolverine suddenly punched the seat next to him, his rage boiling over like an angry bull.
“Logan, calm down,” Professor X said slowly.
But even Professor X’s face showed deep concern.
“Professor, what do we do now?” Wolverine asked.
Professor X sighed. “First, we need to find a way to heal Kitty…”
Without her ability, traveling back in time to stop the creation of the Sentinels would be impossible—a mere fantasy.
…
Two hours later.
The plane returned to the United States, landing in a secluded area.
The group, with the now critically injured Kitty Pryde, followed Wolverine to an abandoned building.
At the entrance was a heavy metal door.
Wolverine stepped forward and knocked. “Bell, it’s me. Open up!”
There was no response.
Annoyed, Wolverine extended his Adamantium claws and stabbed the door.
*Clang!*
The door’s lock was instantly destroyed by the claws.
It was only then that a frustrated voice called out from inside, “Damn it, Logan! You’ve broken my door again!”
Wolverine ignored him and strode inside.
The others quickly followed.
The interior of the building was sparse, and a middle-aged white man in his fifties stood there, glaring at Wolverine.
“Logan, you owe me a new door!”
Wolverine growled, “If you can save her, I’ll consider it.”
Seeing the gravely injured Kitty Pryde, Bell, the doctor, immediately commanded, “Get her into the operating room, now!”
Iceman hurriedly carried Kitty into the surgery room.
Half an hour later, Bell emerged, looking exhausted.
“How is she? How long until she recovers?” Wolverine asked.
“It doesn’t look good,” Bell said grimly. “Her injuries are severe, and she’s lost a lot of blood. She’ll need at least six months to fully recover.”
Hearing this, Wolverine, Professor X, and the others frowned deeply.
On one hand, they were worried about Kitty’s condition.
On the other hand, their entire plan was now on the verge of collapse before it could even begin!
Without Kitty’s ability to phase and send minds back in time, they couldn’t stop the creation of the Sentinels.
“No! Bell, you have to heal her faster!” Wolverine shouted.
Bell rolled his eyes. “Logan, I’m a doctor, not a god!”
Wolverine wanted to argue more, but Professor X intervened, “That’s enough, Logan.”
“Professor, we can’t wait six months!” Wolverine said.
He was right.
Since the arrival of the second-generation Sentinels, less than six months had passed, and mutants were already on the brink of extinction.
With the way the Sentinels were hunting them down, they wouldn’t last even a month.
Professor X understood this all too well and sighed. “This is our fate.”
Clearly, even the wise Professor X was at a loss for a solution.
Chen Ye listened quietly from the side, unaffected.
Just then, a system notification sounded in his mind:
[Attention: You have triggered a hidden mission…]
[Hidden Mission: Stop the Creation of the Sentinels!]
[Hint: Complete the hidden mission to receive rich rewards. Failure comes with no penalty.]
Hearing the system’s prompt, Chen Ye was taken by surprise.
This was the first time he had encountered a hidden mission while running a storyline.
“A hidden mission? Why wasn’t this mentioned in any of the guides?”
“Could it be that no one else has ever triggered this mission before?”
It made sense. The conditions for triggering this hidden mission were quite specific.
First, Kitty Pryde had to be critically injured, preventing her from using her powers to send Wolverine back in time.
Second, you had to be involved with the mutant group long enough to trigger the mission.
“Even if others had triggered this mission, they probably wouldn’t share it so easily!”
“And completing this mission wouldn’t be simple! Stopping the creation of the Sentinels? You’d need to travel back in time, and most people don’t have the ability to time travel!”
At this thought, Chen Ye smiled slightly.
“But I’m different. My original plan was to get Skynet to create a time-travel device so I could go back and hunt mutants. Now, with this hidden mission, I can take care of both at once!”
