- Global Reincarnation: Only I Know the Plot
- GROIKTP Chapter 399
Seeing Wolverine leaping toward him, Chen Ye merely waved his hand casually, and Wolverine was sent flying backward.
“Logan!”
The young Storm gasped in shock. Her eyes turned white as she immediately activated her powers.
Suddenly.
A fierce wind howled, and dark clouds appeared in the sky.
“Boom!”
A bolt of lightning struck down, hitting the ground.
However, it didn’t hit Chen Ye. Instead, it struck Wolverine, who had just gotten back to his feet.
“Ahh!!”
Wolverine screamed in pain, his body smoking, and his hair standing on end.
Fortunately, his healing factor kicked in. Otherwise, that lightning strike could have cost him his life.
“Ororo?” Cyclops scolded Storm, “Aim better next time!”
Although he verbally chastised her, Cyclops couldn’t hide the satisfaction in his eyes.
Wolverine had been his rival, constantly getting close to Jean. Seeing Wolverine hurt brought him some joy.
Even Storm was startled.
Her ability to summon lightning didn’t usually work that quickly.
“It wasn’t me!” Storm quickly explained.
“What?”
Everyone was confused.
If it wasn’t her, then who could summon lightning here?
Just then…
“Boom!”
Another bolt of lightning struck, this time right beside Storm.
Seeing the massive lightning so close, Storm panicked and fell from the sky.
She was still too young and inexperienced.
“Boom!”
Yet another bolt of lightning struck down.
This time it hit right at Cyclops’ feet, startling him as well.
At this point, even a fool could see that Storm wasn’t the one releasing the lightning. It had to be someone else.
That stranger!!
“I’ve been going easy on you,” Chen Ye said calmly, “But none of you can stop me.”
He wasn’t holding back out of mercy for the X-Men, but because he feared angering Jean Grey too much, which could trigger the release of her Phoenix Force.
It wasn’t yet time to confront that power.
“Then try this!”
Cyclops shouted, raising his right hand and pressing the switch on his visor.
His eyes could emit powerful optic blasts, usually kept in check by his glasses. But once the switch was activated, he could release them freely.
“Buzz!”
A beam of red energy shot out from Cyclops’ eyes, aimed directly at Chen Ye.
Chen Ye, having anticipated this, had already activated his Armament Haki.
As the optic blast came toward him, Chen Ye didn’t dodge. He simply raised his arm, now covered in a dark, hardened layer of Haki, to block the attack.
“Boom!”
The optic blast collided with Chen Ye’s arm.
Cyclops quickly stopped firing, fearing he might accidentally hit Rogue, who was standing nearby.
As the beam faded, everyone looked toward Chen Ye.
When the smoke cleared, they were stunned.
Chen Ye stood there completely unscathed.
“A bit hot,” Chen Ye remarked, casually flicking his fingers, then asked, “Want to keep going?”
Everyone was in shock.
They had all clearly seen the optic blast hit the mysterious man.
Yet someone had actually managed to withstand Cyclops’ optic blast without any injury?
“This is impossible!” Cyclops gasped in disbelief.
His optic blasts could cut through almost anything and were hot enough to melt steel. Yet here was a man who was unharmed?
“What kind of monster are you?”
By this time, Wolverine had recovered from his paralysis and was glaring at Chen Ye.
Chen Ye didn’t answer Wolverine’s question, instead saying, “If that’s all you’ve got, you won’t be able to stop me.”
“Everyone, attack together!” Cyclops called out.
But before they could move, a calm voice came from behind them: “Everyone, stand down.”
It was Professor X, sitting in his wheelchair, being pushed by a young student—none other than Iceman.
“Professor…”
Wolverine seemed like he wanted to say something but was stopped by a wave of the professor’s hand.
Professor X stared intently at Chen Ye. “You’re not a mutant.”
“What?”
The others were all stunned.
Not a mutant?
How could someone this powerful not be a mutant?
Chen Ye looked at the middle-aged Professor X and smiled. “That’s correct. I’m human.”
When Chen Ye admitted this, everyone’s shock deepened.
Human?
If humans were this powerful, then why would they fear mutants at all?
“Young man, I can tell you don’t mean us any harm. You’ve been holding back. But…” Professor X asked, “Can you explain why you need to take Anna?”
Chen Ye waved his hand dismissively. “It’s a long story. Let’s just say, today, I’m definitely taking her with me.”
Upon hearing this, Rogue turned pale with fear.
“You’re not taking her!”
Wolverine roared and charged at Chen Ye again.
“Logan!”
Professor X called out, trying to stop him.
But Wolverine didn’t listen, recklessly lunging at Chen Ye.
This time, Chen Ye didn’t use his telekinesis to send Wolverine flying. Instead, he punched him directly, aiming squarely at Wolverine’s face.
Chen Ye’s speed was incredible, and his punch landed before Wolverine could react.
Wolverine felt his vision blur as the punch connected.
A surge of immense force hit his face like a freight train, the overwhelming power knocking him out instantly.
His entire body flew through the air like a cannonball, carving a trench in the grass until he smashed into a distant pavilion, collapsing it into rubble, where he lay motionless.
Chen Ye’s punch had knocked him out cold, giving him a severe concussion.
With Chen Ye’s strength stat currently at 598, such a punch was no joke.
If it weren’t for Wolverine’s healing factor, that punch might have killed him outright.
“Hiss!”
Everyone present gasped, instinctively touching their own faces as if feeling Wolverine’s pain.
That kind of destructive power…
Anyone here would have been killed instantly by such a punch!
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now,” Chen Ye said calmly.
“Wait!”
Professor X called out, “Will Anna be in danger?”
Chen Ye smiled cryptically and replied, “She will die and be reborn, as will all of you…”
With those mysterious words, Chen Ye grabbed Rogue and lifted off the ground, his telekinesis carrying them both into the sky.
Rogue, seemingly resigned to her fate, didn’t struggle or scream. She simply trembled in fear.
It seemed she realized that this man was far too powerful, and even the strongest mutants couldn’t stop him, let alone save her.
…
“Professor!”
Seeing Chen Ye about to fly away, Storm called out, still hoping to save Rogue.
Professor X sighed. “He’s too powerful. You can’t stop him.”
Hearing this, the others felt a wave of embarrassment.
But they had to admit, the mysterious man’s power was overwhelming and filled them with despair.
“Professor, you could stop him!” Cyclops suggested.
He was referring to Professor X’s ability to control minds through telepathy.
It was a powerful ability, capable of killing someone with ease.
“I tried,” Professor X shook his head and sighed, “He’s the most difficult opponent I’ve ever encountered. My powers have no effect on him.”
At these words, everyone’s expressions darkened again.
Even Professor X’s telepathy didn’t work?
What kind of monster was this?
Jean Grey suddenly spoke up, “He seems to know a lot about me… and the power sealed inside me…”
“Oh?”
Even Professor X was surprised to hear that.
Then, recalling what Chen Ye had said before leaving, Professor X fell into deep thought.
“She will die and be reborn, as will all of you…”
What did he mean by that?
“Professor!” Cyclops asked urgently, “That man took Anna. He’s definitely up to something. What do we do now?”
“First, we need to find out exactly what he’s planning.”
…
