GROIKTP Chapter 414

This entry is part 334 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

**Gotham City?**

Upon hearing the name, Chen Ye froze for a moment.

For anyone familiar with the DC Universe, Gotham City was undoubtedly famous, practically an iconic city within the DC world.

Not only was it the territory of the legendary superhero “Batman,” but it was also the birthplace of numerous supervillains.

This included infamous figures such as “The Joker,” “Harley Quinn,” “Bane,” “The Penguin,” “Poison Ivy,” “Mr. Freeze,” “Killer Croc,” and many more.

As the saying goes, “Gotham, where the people are humble, and Arkham, where talents are born!”

Now, Chen Ye finally understood why the citizens around him were rushing about at night.

The criminals in Gotham were simply too numerous.

Even though Batman worked tirelessly to combat crime, he couldn’t completely eliminate all criminal activity.

After all, Batman was just one person…

He couldn’t possibly oversee all of Gotham City!

The middle-aged white man saw Chen Ye standing in place, lost in thought, and couldn’t help but say, “Sir, it’s getting late. My child is waiting for me at home…”

Chen Ye snapped back to reality and smiled, saying, “Thank you for telling me all this. You should head home. Good luck.”

“Thank you for the blessing!”

The middle-aged man politely left, quickly disappearing into the street.

Chen Ye remained where he was, lifting his head to gaze into the distance.

Whether it was due to Gotham’s weather or something else, Chen Ye felt that the city was shrouded in a perpetual darkness, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

In the distance, thick clouds hung over the city, blanketing Gotham in a constant state of gloom.

Just then.

A sudden light appeared in the sky, breaking through some of the darkness.

The light illuminated the clouds, forming a massive bat-shaped symbol!

Upon seeing the Bat-Signal, the citizens on the street instantly smiled.

“It’s Batman!”

“Batman’s out to deliver justice!”

“Hahaha, those despicable criminals must be scared out of their wits right now!”

Chen Ye glanced at the enormous bat symbol in the sky and listened to the cheers from the surrounding citizens, a slight smile forming on his face.

At that moment, the system provided a mission notification:

[Attention: Main Mission Issued!]

[Main Mission: Form a Faction!]

[Mission Details: Within thirty days, form a faction with at least 100 members.]

[Mission Time: 30 Days.]

[Mission Failure: Death!]

[Hint: The larger the faction you create, the higher your mission rating.]

[Note: You are prohibited from revealing the existence of the Reincarnation Space to characters in the instance world. Violation will result in termination!]

Hearing the mission notification, Chen Ye’s expression remained calm.

“Since I’m in Gotham, it would be a shame not to say hello to Batman, wouldn’t it?”

Chen Ye thought to himself that interacting with such important characters might even trigger a hidden mission.

With this in mind, Chen Ye headed toward the direction of the Bat-Signal.

He wasn’t in a hurry.

Because he knew Batman’s true identity, he could find him at any time.

So, Chen Ye walked slowly.

At that moment.

A gust of wind blew a newspaper toward him.

The headline on the newspaper caught Chen Ye’s attention:

**”Superman is Dead!!”**

Chen Ye paused, momentarily stunned.

“Superman’s dead? He was probably killed by that super monster, ‘Doomsday,’ right? So, the *Justice League* storyline is just beginning?”

With that thought, Chen Ye’s mind suddenly sparked with an idea!

“According to the original story, Batman and the others will resurrect Superman to deal with a powerful enemy. But what if I prevent Superman’s resurrection? Could that trigger a hidden mission?”

“After all, without Superman, the other Justice League members wouldn’t be able to defeat the boss from Apokolips, ‘Steppenwolf.’ The system wouldn’t just sit back and watch Earth be destroyed, would it? If I step in, could the system issue a hidden mission to stop Steppenwolf?”

The more Chen Ye thought about it, the more he felt this possibility was very real!

Given this potential, Chen Ye decided it was worth trying.

It wouldn’t hurt to test it out!

Of course.

His primary focus remained on completing the main mission.

The hidden mission was just an experiment for now.

This is the absolute advantage of knowing the storyline.

By altering events based on the story, one could test whether hidden missions could be triggered.

Other Reincarnators, no matter how hard they thought, would never consider this possibility.

Chen Ye continued walking.

As he neared the location of the Bat-Signal, he began deliberately choosing small alleys and narrow paths.

For an ordinary person, doing such a thing in dangerous Gotham City would be asking for trouble.

However.

Chen Ye was no ordinary person!

Soon, trouble found him.

A few gangsters, noticing he was alone and unfamiliar, followed him. Once they were in a secluded alley, the gangsters quickly caught up and blocked Chen Ye’s path.

“Hey, kid, if you don’t want some new holes in your body, hand over all your cash!”

The lead gangster said.

In his hand was a black handgun.

Chen Ye raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

It wasn’t that he was shocked at being mugged.

He had known from the moment these thugs started following him.

What surprised him was that even petty street thugs carried guns while committing robberies, highlighting just how “charming” the law and order in Gotham City really was.

Chen Ye prepared to deal with these unlucky fools.

Just then, his ears twitched, and he quickly changed his mind.

“W-What are you doing? I-I don’t have any money…”

Chen Ye’s acting was deliberately over-the-top, not at all convincing for someone being mugged.

The reason for his exaggerated performance was that he had just heard something flying through the air from the darkness.

If Chen Ye wasn’t mistaken, Batman had probably noticed the situation and was now observing from the shadows.

Hearing Chen Ye’s claim that he had no money seemed to irritate the lead thug. He raised his gun, pointing it at Chen Ye’s forehead.

“I’ll count to three. If I don’t see the cash by then, I’ll blow your brains out. One…”

“Two…”

Chen Ye remained unfazed.

Bullets posed no threat to him whatsoever!

“Three!!”

As the gangster finished counting and saw that Chen Ye still hadn’t moved, he angrily prepared to pull the trigger.

At that moment, something unexpected happened.

“Whoosh!”

A sharp sound pierced the air as a throwing weapon shot out from the darkness.

The projectile struck the gangster’s hand with pinpoint accuracy, hitting the wrist that held the gun!

“Ahh!!”

The thug let out a scream of pain as his gun fell to the ground.

The gangster, furious that someone had interrupted his “payday,” froze when he saw the shape of the throwing weapon.

His face turned pale, and all his anger vanished in an instant.

It was a bat-shaped throwing star!!

“Holy crap! It’s Batman!!”
