GROIKTP Chapter 427

This entry is part 347 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

In the world of DC, the forces within the ocean are not few.

Aside from Atlantis, there are Xebel, the Trench Kingdom, the Brine, the Fishermen Kingdom, the Lost Nation, and an unknown kingdom. These seven kingdoms each control one of the seven seas. The strongest among them is Atlantis.

The Seven Seas races possess technology and abilities far beyond the modern world. In the storyline of *Aquaman*, the current king of Atlantis, Orm, is ambitious and seeks to unite the Seven Seas to wage war against the human world on land.

This shows that the combined power of the Seven Seas could surpass that of humanity. If Chen Ye were to gain control of the Seven Seas, his mission rating would undoubtedly be high!

Upon hearing Chen Ye’s goal, Arthur immediately realized that this guy wanted him to be a puppet ruler.

However, Arthur couldn’t understand why Chen Ye didn’t just take the throne himself. Why was he pushing him forward instead?

Being straightforward by nature, Arthur asked directly, “I don’t get it. Why don’t you take the throne yourself? With the trident in your hand and your strength, Orm shouldn’t be able to stop you… You don’t need me at all.”

“Oh, I just don’t like the hassle. I don’t want to be king and deal with managing everything every day,” Chen Ye replied with a smile. “I think you’re better suited for it, Arthur. I trust you can lead Atlantis well. As for me, I’d prefer to remain the laid-back sea god.”

Arthur finally understood Chen Ye’s plan.

So, he wanted him to be a puppet ruler while this guy held all the real power. How infuriating!

“I won’t be a puppet!!” Arthur protested.

“How is this being a puppet?” Chen Ye waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t worry, Arthur. I won’t interfere with how you run Atlantis. You’ll have complete independence… And besides, I’m a sea god. In less than a month, I’ll have to return to the heavens, and by then, you can be king however you like.”

“The heavens?” Arthur’s rugged face was full of disbelief.

Chen Ye shrugged, unconcerned whether Arthur believed him or not. “The point is, I’ll be leaving Earth in less than a month. During that time, you’ll have to cooperate with me.”

“And if I refuse?” Arthur asked.

Chen Ye showed his fist. “Then I’ll beat you until you agree.”

Seeing Chen Ye’s fist, Arthur’s expression stiffened as the pain from his injuries subtly reminded him.

“Arthur, reclaiming the throne isn’t a bad thing,” Chen Ye continued. “If your brother finds out your mother is still alive, what do you think he’ll do?”

Arthur’s face immediately turned serious upon hearing this.

He hadn’t considered this before, still basking in the joy of the family reunion. Now, with Chen Ye’s reminder, he realized it was a crucial issue.

Chen Ye added, “From what I know, your brother’s ambitions are no secret. He’s always wanted to rule the Seven Seas. Arthur, do you really want to see me help your brother instead? I’m sure he’d be more than happy to cooperate with me.”

In fact, Chen Ye could have chosen to support Orm and help him unify the Seven Seas. But knowing the story, he understood Orm had too much ambition and wasn’t one to be easily controlled. Chen Ye needed a more obedient puppet.

Arthur fell silent. He might not care for himself, but he couldn’t ignore the safety of his mother. What would Orm do if he discovered their mother was alive? No one could say for sure. Even if Orm didn’t harm her, he certainly wouldn’t allow the former queen of Atlantis to live with a human.

At that moment, Atlanna stepped forward.

“Arthur, I support you in reclaiming the throne.”

“Mother?”

Arthur was surprised that his mother would back him in opposing Orm. Was Orm adopted? Not her real son?

“Son, I know what you’re thinking,” Atlanna said softly. “Orm is also my child. Of course, I don’t want to see you two at odds. But under his father’s influence, Orm has grown extreme. Atlantis under his rule isn’t in good hands… Arthur, you have a noble heart. I believe that with you as king, Atlantis will move in a better direction.”

Hearing this, Chen Ye nodded to himself. *This is a wise woman.*

Arthur finally wavered.

“Fine! I’ll do it,” he agreed.

Atlanna smiled at her son, then turned to Chen Ye with a serious expression.

“Lord Sea God, I ask that you promise me one thing: don’t take Orm’s life.”

Chen Ye smiled and nodded. “Madam, you’ve made a wise choice. With your eldest son on the throne, I’m sure the brothers will live in harmony. As for your request, I can promise you that I only need my goal fulfilled.”

And so, it was settled…

Meanwhile, deep in the ocean, in a palace…

Mera was talking to a middle-aged man, clearly agitated.

“Everything I’ve said is true!” Mera exclaimed.

The man in front of her was not Orm, but King Nereus.

King Nereus was the ruler of the Lost Nation, and also Mera’s father.

Mera, being the princess of the Lost Nation, naturally told her father about the day’s events. Besides, she didn’t particularly like her fiancé, Orm. Their marriage was a political arrangement, devoid of any emotional foundation, and Orm’s extremist and arrogant nature wasn’t what Mera desired in a husband.

At that moment, King Nereus frowned deeply, processing what his daughter had said.

Mera had just recounted everything that happened today.

However, what caught King Nereus’s attention wasn’t the stolen Mother Box or even the appearance of the alien Steppenwolf. What concerned him most was the figure Mera referred to as the “sea god.”

“You said a man wielding the trident appeared, claiming to be the sea god?”

“Yes, Father. While his identity needs further proof, his power is immense. He can control the sea at will. I’m certain the trident he held is the one from legend!” Mera explained.

“What else did he say?”

“He told me to inform Orm that he’d be coming for him,” Mera responded.

Hearing this, King Nereus’s expression grew serious as he fell into thought.

Mera couldn’t help but ask, “Father, should we inform Orm?”

“No,” King Nereus replied sharply. “Mera, do you know where he went?”

“I don’t,” Mera shook her head. “But he said something about needing Arthur for a task. I believe he’ll go looking for Arthur.”

“Who is Arthur?”

“He’s the firstborn son of Queen Atlanna and a human.”
