- Global Reincarnation: Only I Know the Plot
- GROIKTP Chapter 428
“The bastard child?”
King Nereus looked surprised.
Mera couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “Father, please mind your words! That’s not something a king should say.”
King Nereus chuckled, not taking his daughter’s reprimand to heart. He spoke calmly, “Mera, I want you to find this so-called sea god and extend my goodwill. Invite him to visit our palace.”
“Why?” Mera asked, puzzled.
King Nereus smiled faintly, his eyes gleaming with wisdom. “I know Orm well—his ambition is immense. He won’t tolerate anyone threatening his position.”
“So, there will inevitably be conflict between Orm and this sea god.”
Mera was still confused. “Father, are you planning to side with the sea god? Isn’t Orm our ally?”
“Mera, there’s a saying among humans: ‘Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.’ We can’t be too involved in the conflict between Orm and the sea god. I need to meet this sea god first. If he’s truly as powerful as you say, then we’ll decide.”
Mera finally understood her father’s intentions.
*Clever old fox!* she thought.
“I understand, Father.”
…
On the beach near the lighthouse, Arthur and Chen Ye were drinking while discussing how to reclaim the throne.
Initially, Chen Ye’s idea was simple—just fight their way in. With his strength and the trident’s ability to control all marine creatures, he was confident he could easily crush Atlantis and overthrow Orm.
But Arthur disagreed with this plan. He believed that a violent takeover would result in unnecessary deaths, something he didn’t want to see.
Arthur’s mother, Atlanna, also didn’t want her son’s ascent to the throne to be too bloody.
Chen Ye, respecting his “puppet’s” feelings, agreed to consider a different approach.
“Arthur, I’ll give you one day. If you can’t come up with a better plan, we’ll do it my way,” Chen Ye said as he stood up, stretched, and left Arthur to ponder. He was ready to find a place to sleep.
Just then, a slim figure emerged from the sea and walked toward the shore.
It was Mera.
“Arthur Curry, and the esteemed Lord Sea God, greetings,” she said as she introduced herself. “I am Mera, Princess of the Lost Kingdom. My father, King Nereus, wishes to invite both of you to our palace.”
“Oh?” Chen Ye smiled, immediately understanding what Mera’s invitation meant.
*How convenient,* he thought. It was just what he needed.
Arthur looked at Chen Ye, unsure how to respond.
Chen Ye nodded with a smile, agreeing, “When do we leave?”
Mera answered, “We can leave now.”
Chen Ye, however, decided to bring Atlanna along.
Seeing Atlanna, Mera was shocked. She had thought the queen was long dead.
However, Mera quickly recovered and said respectfully, “It’s an honor to see you again, Your Majesty.”
Atlanna looked at her and said, “You must be King Nereus’s daughter. I remember holding you when you were just a little girl.”
“Yes, Your Majesty, and I still remember your teachings,” Mera said, full of respect.
Atlanna smiled kindly. “No need to be so formal, child. I’m no longer the queen, just a criminal of Atlantis.”
“No,” Mera replied earnestly. “In my heart, you will always be the queen of Atlantis.”
“It’s an honor to have you join us, Your Majesty. I’m sure my father will be delighted to see you.”
Atlanna nodded. “Let’s depart then.”
She also hoped to gain King Nereus’s support for her eldest son, Arthur.
…
Soon, the group of four, led by Mera, arrived at the Lost Kingdom’s palace.
When King Nereus saw Atlanna, he was just as shocked as his daughter had been. But when his gaze fell on the trident in Chen Ye’s hand, his surprise deepened.
King Nereus then became quite enthusiastic. He understood the significance of Atlanna’s presence.
After witnessing Chen Ye’s ability to control the ocean and seeing the sea monster Karathen, which Chen Ye summoned, King Nereus’s hospitality only increased.
The discussions went smoothly.
When Chen Ye mentioned his intention to support Arthur’s claim to the throne, King Nereus immediately promised his full support.
He would have been a fool not to. With just the sea monster Karathen, Atlantis could be wiped out. And with an even more terrifying “sea god” backing them…
“King Nereus,” Chen Ye began, “I want Arthur to become the king of Atlantis. However, Arthur doesn’t want the process to be too violent. Do you have any suggestions?”
King Nereus thought for a moment before replying, “There’s a way. In a few days, we’ll have our annual council meeting of the sea kings. Lord Sea God, if you bring up Arthur’s succession at the council, there will likely be little opposition.”
Chen Ye smiled.
“Let’s do that.”
…
Four days later.
Today was the annual council meeting of the sea kings.
The meeting was to be held in Atlantis.
There was no choice—the power of Atlantis was currently the strongest among the seven seas. The kings of the other kingdoms were all in attendance, traveling to Atlantis’s royal palace.
Chen Ye and his group, disguised, accompanied King Nereus to the palace.
Today, Atlantis was bustling with activity. Four kings were gathering, creating an unprecedented spectacle that had drawn the attention of the entire ocean.
The citizens of Atlantis were filled with pride. The fact that the meeting was held in Atlantis, not Xebel or the Fisherman Kingdom, was a testament to their nation’s strength.
Why only four kings and not seven?
Well, the Trench Kingdom was filled with monsters and had no king. The other two kingdoms had strained relations with Atlantis, and Orm didn’t have the influence to invite them.
Ordinary citizens weren’t allowed to attend the meeting, so they could only participate in the celebrations, sharing in the excitement and pride.
Inside the royal hall, the four kings took their seats according to rank.
As the host and a royal member of Atlantis, Orm sat in the center, while the other kings took their places in the lower seats.
