GROIKTP Chapter 536

This entry is part 458 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

The upgrade to Skynet seemed like it would take some time.

Chen Ye wasn’t in a hurry; he still had over two months to wait.

He recalled that before entering the *One Punch Man* instance, he had looked up some guides. One post mentioned that in the final days of the mission, a massive spaceship would appear over City A…

It looked like none of the reincarnators knew that this ship belonged to Boros, the Cosmic Overlord, and they were even less aware of Saitama’s upcoming battle with Boros!

Before attacking the Monster Association’s lair, Chen Ye had also informed the upper echelons of the Hero Association.

He didn’t want to do a good deed without leaving his name! Even if he didn’t care about the credit, it would still be a nice gift for Saitama.

The *One Punch Man* instance was a massive world.

In other words, as long as Chen Ye wasn’t dead and continued to survive in the reincarnation space, he’d definitely have more chances to return here in the future…

Saitama’s fate had already been altered by Chen Ye.

Perhaps.

The next time he came to this instance world, Saitama might be different.

Morning.

Near a residential area in City Z.

Chen Ye and Saitama appeared, standing outside a house.

“Master, this is where I used to live.”

Saitama looked up at the second floor of the small house, his voice filled with nostalgia: “I lived here for over a year. I was almost kicked out for not being able to pay rent—thankfully, I met you later, Master…”

Chen Ye smiled and patted Saitama’s shoulder. “From now on, my home will always be your home too.”

“Thank you, Master…” Saitama was deeply moved.

At this moment.

On the second-floor balcony, a young man appeared, hanging up his laundry.

“There seems to be someone living here!” Saitama asked, “Master, should we go up?”

“No need,” Chen Ye replied.

Saitama nodded and couldn’t help but look at the young man, finally speaking after a long pause: “He looks just like I did back then…”

Chen Ye glanced at the man on the second floor. His eyes were dull, his expression despondent, and there was hardly any youthful energy left in him. He seemed young, but already jaded by life.

He truly did resemble Saitama from three years ago!

“If I hadn’t met you, Master, I might still be like him…” Saitama muttered to himself.

“Let’s go, Saitama.”

“Coming!”

Hearing Chen Ye’s voice, Saitama withdrew his gaze from the young man.

On the balcony, the young man hanging laundry finally noticed Chen Ye and Saitama.

But he just glanced at them and didn’t think much of it…

“Master, where are we headed now?” Saitama asked.

Chen Ye thought carefully.

In the original story, the lair of the Monster Association was right under the small house they had just been at.

And the entrance was nearby!!

In the original plot, there was a minor detail: when the man known as the “King of Engines,” King, passed by Saitama’s house, he accidentally stumbled upon the entrance to the Monster Association’s base—but King didn’t take it seriously…

So, as long as they searched nearby, they should be able to find the entrance.

If they couldn’t find it, Chen Ye figured he could always force his way in…

“Saitama, I’ll search this way, and you go that way. If you find anything suspicious, let me know right away,” Chen Ye instructed.

“Yes, Master!” Saitama replied energetically.

The two of them split up, one heading left and the other right.

It didn’t take long before Chen Ye found something suspicious: a strange house!

There was a large hole in the house’s wall, with an unknown slimy substance around it. Upon entering, Chen Ye discovered the house was completely empty—no people, no furniture.

Behind one of the walls, he found an entrance leading underground!

At this point, Chen Ye was almost certain that this was the entrance to the Monster Association.

He immediately took out his phone and called Saitama.

“Master, did you find something?” Saitama’s excited voice came through as soon as the call connected.

“Yes, come to me. I’ll be waiting at the entrance,” Chen Ye replied.

“Got it, Master! I’ll be there right away!”

When Saitama said “right away,” he meant it!

Barely moments after the call ended, Saitama’s figure appeared in a blur.

This guy, when running at full speed, was unbelievably fast!

“Master, I’m here!” Saitama said excitedly. “Is this the place?”

Chen Ye nodded. “It should be.”

“Alright, Master, I’ll go down first.”

Saitama said this as he prepared to jump into the entrance.

“Wait! Hold on!” Chen Ye quickly grabbed Saitama, stopping him. “There’s something I need to explain to you first…”

Hearing that Chen Ye had instructions for him, Saitama immediately halted and listened attentively.

“Master, go ahead.”

Saitama always followed his Master’s orders without question.

Chen Ye continued, “I’ve done some research on the Monster Association. Their leader is called Orochi! When you encounter him later, don’t kill him—leave him to me.”

“Understood, Master.”

“Alright, let’s go!”

With that, the master and disciple both descended into the underground lair.

As they ventured underground, they found themselves in a whole new world!

This place was dominated by darkness and filth!

A foul stench filled the air, making both Chen Ye and Saitama wrinkle their noses in disgust.

It was the complete opposite of the clean, shining world above.

Seeing the underground world, Chen Ye suddenly understood why the monsters were constantly invading the surface.

This place was simply unfit for any life to survive…

“Master, it smells awful down here…” Saitama complained, holding his nose.

“The place is connected to the sewers, of course it reeks,” Chen Ye replied, also holding his nose. “Let’s move quickly and get this over with.”

“Yes, Master.”

The underground lair was a maze of tunnels, and they had no idea which one led to the Monster Association’s base.

However, since Chen Ye knew the storyline, he was aware that Orochi’s territory was directly under Saitama’s former house.

Judging by that, Chen Ye picked a tunnel heading in that direction.

Before long, they encountered a monster.

“Skreek, skreek, what’s that noise? Skreek, skreek, is something coming this way?”

A monster that looked a bit like a rat appeared in front of Chen Ye.

The moment Saitama saw the monster, he clenched his fist, ready to charge.

Normally, Saitama wasn’t so eager to fight.

But now, with the responsibility of destroying the Monster Association handed to him by his Master, he felt compelled to act.

“Wait, Saitama.”

Chen Ye stopped him. “Let’s interrogate it first.”

As he spoke, a golden rope appeared in Chen Ye’s hand.

He didn’t feel like wasting time questioning it, so he planned to use the truth-binding lasso right away…
