GROIKTP Chapter 557

This entry is part 479 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

“Master, this place is strange. My abilities can no longer be used…” Ebony Maw’s voice echoed from behind, filled with panic.

Thanos heard him but didn’t turn around, his gaze still fixed on the horizon.

He had already sensed the problem Ebony Maw mentioned.

For instance, he felt that his body had weakened significantly. Normally, Thanos’s skin was nearly indestructible, resistant to cold, heat, electricity, radiation, poison, aging, and disease. His mental abilities were also almost invincible.

But now, it seemed these strengths had been mysteriously diminished.

Thankfully, his physical power remained intact.

“Master, what should we do?” General Corvus asked gravely.

Thanos thought for a moment before responding, “Search the area. Find out what star system we’re in, and try to reestablish contact with the ship.”

“Boom!!”

Just as Thanos finished speaking, a loud explosion sounded not far to their left.

The group was immediately startled and turned toward the direction of the noise.

“It doesn’t seem far away,” General Corvus said slowly. “Master, let me go check it out.”

Thanos nodded.

With his master’s approval, General Corvus quickly grabbed his scythe and hurried toward the source of the explosion.

A few minutes later, he spotted a group of people.

They were quite an unusual bunch.

The leader had a flamboyant hairstyle and wore a martial arts uniform, with the character “Turtle” embroidered on the chest. His face was handsome but not particularly intelligent-looking. He wasn’t overly muscular but had well-defined, powerful muscles.

His exposed arms looked like granite, exuding strength!

The second person had spiky hair, stood shorter than the leader, and had a defiant expression on his face, full of arrogance.

Behind the two were more peculiar figures: a green-skinned humanoid creature with an antenna on his forehead, a short bald man with no nose, and a monk with three eyes, among others.

There were nine of them in total.

General Corvus hid in the trees, deciding to observe for now.

At that moment, the noseless, bald man spoke up, his tone filled with complaint:

“Goku, can you stop being so reckless? That explosion could draw in some danger.”

In response to Krillin’s complaints, Goku just laughed heartily, “Got it, Krillin! I’ll be more careful.”

Vegeta scoffed dismissively, “What danger could there possibly be? I could defeat any enemy here by myself!”

Krillin couldn’t help but retort, “Vegeta, don’t be so sure. We can’t sense ‘ki’ anymore, and our strength has dropped significantly. You probably can’t even turn into a Super Saiyan right now, can you?”

Hearing this, Vegeta’s face darkened.

He tried and realized Krillin was right—he couldn’t transform.

This meant his only advantage now was his raw physical power.

“Damn it, what kind of cursed place is this?”

Vegeta, clearly frustrated, looked to Goku and asked, “Kakarot, can you still transform?”

At that moment, the young woman known as Android 18 suddenly locked her gaze on General Corvus, who was hiding in the trees, and shouted, “Who’s there? Come out!”

She was still an android at this point, with built-in heat sensors that easily detected General Corvus, even though he was well-hidden.

Startled, General Corvus hadn’t expected to be discovered so easily.

But.

Since he’d been found, there was no need to hide.

His master, Thanos, was already on the way. What did he have to fear?

With this in mind, General Corvus calmly stepped out from the trees and approached Goku and his group.

As the others saw General Corvus, their brows furrowed.

It was clear that with his menacing appearance, he didn’t look like someone with good intentions.

“Who are you?” Krillin demanded. “And why were you hiding?”

Before General Corvus could reply, Vegeta spoke first: “Why bother talking to this guy? Let’s just finish him off!”

With that, Vegeta shot forward like an arrow, rushing straight at General Corvus.

General Corvus was shocked. He hadn’t expected Vegeta to attack without a word and was even more surprised by Vegeta’s incredible speed.

In the blink of an eye, Vegeta was right in front of him.

General Corvus hurriedly raised his scythe to slash at Vegeta while retreating.

“Too slow!!”

With a smirk on his face, Vegeta easily dodged the slash and delivered a punch straight to General Corvus’s abdomen.

“Ugh!”

General Corvus’s stomach was completely pierced through…

As Vegeta withdrew his hand, standing still with a cold expression, General Corvus’s body fell lifelessly to the ground, his eyes wide open in disbelief.

“Vegeta, that was reckless! We didn’t even get any information out of him…” Krillin tried to scold Vegeta, but hesitated, knowing better than to provoke him further.

Vegeta, too prideful to admit fault, simply scoffed in response, his anger still simmering from being trapped in this strange place.

“Hey, Vegeta, that was pretty dirty!” Goku chimed in, grinning. “Since you killed this guy, the next one is mine!”

Krillin almost fainted from frustration.

“Come on, let’s not waste time,” Piccolo interrupted. “We should keep moving.”

The group nodded and continued onward.

Not long after Goku’s group left, Thanos and his entourage finally arrived.

Upon seeing General Corvus’s corpse on the ground, Thanos’s expression turned grim.

“Father, there are footprints leading in that direction,” Gamora said.

Thanos, without looking up, coldly uttered a single word:

“Chase!”

Meanwhile, Chen Ye continued searching through the house.

In another room, he found a chest.

As soon as he opened it, a strange medicinal fragrance filled the air. At the bottom of the chest lay several peculiar pills.

Resting on a leaf were five differently colored pills, each quite small.

Chen Ye’s eyes narrowed upon seeing them.

If he wasn’t mistaken, there was only one kind of medicine that looked like this:

*Five Dragon Pills!!*

These came from the online game *Fantasy Westward Journey* and were known for their ability to restore a small amount of health and cure abnormal statuses!

When Chen Ye reached out to pick them up, the system prompt confirmed his suspicion.

“Precious medicine from the Dragon Palace of the Eastern Sea, capable of restoring health and curing abnormal conditions.”

Without hesitation, Chen Ye stored the *Five Dragon Pills* in his backpack.

Chen Ye was convinced that the system wouldn’t place items from *Fantasy Westward Journey* here without a reason—they would surely have an important role to play.
