GROIKTP Chapter 584

This entry is part 507 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

The piercing sound of alarms echoed throughout the human base.

“What’s happening?” the Black General quickly asked.

The radar technician hurried to report, “Sir, we’ve detected a new kaiju, approaching the port at incredible speed… Oh my God! It’s moving so fast, nearly reaching supersonic speed!”

“We’ve never seen anything move this fast underwater.”

Hearing this, the gathered officers were stunned, rushing toward the radar display. On the screen, a red dot was rapidly approaching at an alarming speed.

“What kind of kaiju is this, moving so fast?”

“Damn it! If a creature like this had shown up earlier, humanity would…”

Some of the more fragile-minded officers couldn’t help but exclaim in fear.

The Black General’s face darkened, and he gritted his teeth. “It must have been drawn by the death cries of the other fourth-level kaiju… Its target is most likely that human!”

At these words, the others’ expressions shifted.

They understood clearly.

With powerful kaiju emerging one after another, their only hope lay with that superhuman. The relationship between the two was symbiotic.

If that human was in danger, humanity’s fate would be grim.

Immediately, someone shouted, “We have to find a way to warn that man…”

“There’s no time,” the Black General sighed, turning his gaze to the large screen. “All we can do now is pray to God.”

At the shoreline.

“ROAR!”

Suddenly, Leatherback let out a roar and charged fiercely at Chen Ye, its attacks more frantic and relentless.

Even though it knew full well that it couldn’t hit this nimble human, it continued its crazed assault, despite its grievous injuries.

Its desperation seemed odd, as if it was fighting a losing battle.

But Chen Ye’s sharp senses picked up on something, and a smile spread across his face.

“It’s here, huh?”

Thanks to his heightened perception and his Death Sense ability, Chen Ye could sense a large presence rapidly approaching from afar.

Now, Leatherback’s behavior made sense. It was throwing itself at Chen Ye in a last-ditch effort to keep his attention, buying time for its partner to land a decisive blow!

“ROAR!”

Leatherback roared again, attempting to keep Chen Ye’s focus on itself.

Chen Ye glanced at it, a smirk playing on his lips. “You cunning beast. So your partner’s here already, huh? You’re of no use anymore…”

“You want to die? Fine, I’ll grant your wish!”

With those words, Chen Ye clenched his fist, channeling his quake powers.

Just in time, Leatherback charged again, jaws wide open, trying to bite down on Chen Ye.

This time, Chen Ye didn’t dodge. Instead, he raised his right hand and punched.

*CRACK!*

The sound of bones shattering filled the air once again as the space around Leatherback’s jaw fractured.

The earth-shattering power of Chen Ye’s punch struck Leatherback right under the chin.

In an instant, Leatherback stopped moving. Its legs no longer ached, its back no longer hurt…

Because it was dead.

*BOOM!*

Like a balloon popping, Leatherback’s head exploded into pieces, chunks of flesh and bone splattering into the ocean.

The shoreline was left in ruins.

Leatherback’s massive body collapsed heavily into the water.

“Congratulations! You have killed another kaiju. Current mission progress: 2/1.”

Hearing the system’s notification, Chen Ye didn’t rest. He clenched his fist again, the white energy shield reappearing around it, and swiftly unleashed another punch.

Almost simultaneously, a massive figure leaped out of the water, attacking Chen Ye, only to meet his fist head-on.

*CRACK!*

The void cracked once more.

The creature’s enormous claw shattered into fragments, spraying green blood everywhere, further staining the sea.

“ROAR!!”

Otachi, the kaiju that had just attempted a sneak attack, let out a pained scream. It had just entered the fight and was already gravely injured.

Chen Ye calmly examined the creature.

It resembled a massively oversized scorpion, with four legs for swift movement, and a long, whip-like tail over a hundred meters long. At the tip of its tail, there was a sharp, blade-like growth—a formidable weapon clearly meant for deadly strikes.

Additionally, Otachi had wings tucked beneath its limbs, allowing it to fly.

That’s right—this kaiju could fly!

Otachi’s most dangerous feature, however, was its highly toxic nature. Its body was laced with bioluminescent blue veins, and under its jaw was a massive poison sac capable of spraying corrosive acid strong enough to melt through a Jaeger’s armor.

In official data, Otachi was regarded as the strongest of the fourth-level kaiju!

But right now, this so-called strongest kaiju didn’t even hesitate to flee after meeting Chen Ye’s gaze.

Otachi was incredibly cunning.

Seeing how Chen Ye had killed Leatherback and shattered its claw with a single punch, Otachi knew that this human was a monster in his own right, far beyond its ability to fight.

Wisely, Otachi chose to run.

*WHOOSH!*

The sound of air splitting echoed as Chen Ye chased after it.

For the first time, Chen Ye displayed his unparalleled supersonic flight speed.

He had gone to great lengths to draw Otachi out—there was no way he was letting it escape!

This creature could move extremely quickly underwater, which might interfere with Chen Ye’s upcoming plans.

Therefore, Chen Ye had to eliminate it!

Anything that posed a threat to Chen Ye’s mission would be ruthlessly removed.

Otachi, hearing the whoosh of air behind it, was startled.

But the creature’s reaction time was sharp. Its massive tail lashed out, sweeping toward Chen Ye like a deadly scythe.

With Otachi’s immense strength, if Chen Ye were hit, even with Armament Haki shielding him, he would likely be injured.

“Futile struggle!”

Chen Ye snorted coldly, having already anticipated the attack. He deftly dodged, avoiding the lethal strike.

His knowledge of the plot meant he was familiar with all the famous kaiju and their attack patterns.
