GROIKTP Chapter 586

This entry is part 509 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

When Chen Ye arrived at the entrance of the military base, General Pentecost, along with some of his subordinates, was already there, waiting for quite some time.

It seemed that they had received specific orders to personally greet Chen Ye at the gate.

Chen Ye slowly descended from the air.

The soldiers around him looked at him with a mixture of awe and reverence.

“Hello, sir!”

As soon as Chen Ye landed, General Pentecost stepped forward and saluted, saying, “I am Pentecost Stacker, the leader of this base. On behalf of everyone here, we welcome you and thank you for killing those monsters and saving the port.”

“You are a hero to humanity!”

It was clear that General Pentecost was instructed by higher authorities to speak with such flattery.

Chen Ye smiled but said nothing, his gaze wandering past General Pentecost toward the figures behind him.

There, he saw familiar faces, including the main protagonist, the female lead, and other supporting characters from this world.

His act of ignoring the general was quite disrespectful.

However, General Pentecost showed no signs of being offended.

As anyone who has seen the movie would know, General Pentecost was a shrewd man with a great deal of restraint, a highly qualified leader.

After a brief moment, Chen Ye finally turned back and looked seriously at General Pentecost, speaking calmly, “General Stacker, I’m here for one purpose only—to destroy the kaiju’s nest and eradicate all the monsters completely!”

Hearing these words, everyone around immediately perked up, their eyes burning with intensity.

Ever since the first kaiju appeared years ago, humanity had suffered greatly at their hands.

The hatred for the monsters was a shared sentiment among all of humanity!

And those present, who had enlisted in the military, had done so with the goal of eradicating the monsters.

At that moment, hearing this immensely powerful man declare his intention to wipe out the kaiju triggered an intense reaction among the crowd.

“Sir, whatever you need, just say the word. We will do our best to provide it,” General Pentecost quickly offered.

“I’ve devised a plan to target the kaiju’s nest, and I will need your cooperation.”

Before General Pentecost could respond, Chen Ye added, “But first, I need a shower, a clean set of clothes, and a hearty lunch.”

General Pentecost was momentarily taken aback but quickly composed himself and invited Chen Ye inside. “Of course, sir. We have already prepared everything you need.”

Chen Ye smiled and nodded, following General Pentecost into the military base.

He had no fear that anyone would try to harm him.

With his current power, he could easily destroy the entire base with a single punch if necessary!

Most of the base’s structures were underground, and the interior was vast.

As they walked, Chen Ye passed by several towering, imposing Jaegers.

Numerous technicians were busy performing routine maintenance on the Jaegers.

General Pentecost had initially planned to introduce their pride and joy—the Jaeger mechs—to Chen Ye.

But when he remembered that the man beside him could easily defeat kaiju with his bare hands, he thought better of it and simply continued leading the way.

Soon enough, Chen Ye was shown into a luxurious room.

He enjoyed a refreshing shower, changed into clean clothes, and had a lavish meal…

Two hours later, General Pentecost reappeared.

“Sir, I hope the food at the base was to your liking?”

Chen Ye nodded. “It was quite good, thank you for the hospitality.”

General Pentecost then got straight to the point. “Sir, we are very interested in the plan you mentioned.”

“Oh… The plan is simple. We’ll blow up the kaiju’s nest.”

Chen Ye invited General Pentecost to sit down before continuing. “We need a very powerful bomb—nuclear weapons would be ideal.”

Hearing this, General Pentecost frowned slightly. “We can provide nuclear weapons, but… sir, we’ve known the location of the kaiju nest for some time now. We’ve attempted counterattacks, but the entrance to the nest is highly unusual. We’ve tried many methods, but none allow us to enter.”

Chen Ye chuckled, “You’re referring to the protective barrier at the nest’s entrance, right? I know how to bypass it.”

“It has a recognition feature that only allows kaiju through. We can use a kaiju corpse as camouflage.”

General Pentecost’s eyes lit up at the revelation.

Of course!

Why hadn’t he thought of that before?

Chen Ye’s explanation was like a wake-up call.

However, General Pentecost quickly realized another issue.

“Also, sir, there are bound to be kaiju guarding the nest’s entrance. They won’t let us pass easily…”

“Don’t worry about that,” Chen Ye said calmly. “All you need to do is prepare a powerful enough nuclear bomb and get me an oxygen mask—something simple that won’t hinder me in combat. I’ll take care of the rest.”

General Pentecost nodded in understanding.

He had almost forgotten that the man before him was regarded as a godlike being!

A few kaiju guards wouldn’t stand a chance against him.

“I understand, sir,” General Pentecost said. “When do you plan to execute this operation?”

“The sooner, the better,” Chen Ye replied. “Ideally, today.”

General Pentecost was momentarily stunned but quickly collected himself, excusing himself to begin preparations.

Being a man of action, General Pentecost wasted no time.

In less than an hour, he had everything Chen Ye needed.

An hour later…

*Knock, knock, knock.*

The sound of knocking echoed through the room.

“Come in,” Chen Ye called out.

The door opened, revealing an Asian woman.

It was the female protagonist, Mako Mori.

“Hello, sir. General Stacker has prepared everything you requested and invites you to come and inspect it,” Mako said respectfully.

Chen Ye glanced at the female lead.

She wasn’t unattractive, but neither was she stunning. However, she did carry an air of competence…

“Lead the way,” Chen Ye replied casually.

Mako Mori respectfully gestured for him to follow. “This way, please.”
