GROIKTP Chapter 594

This entry is part 517 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

As Wen Xingyi continued her explanation, Chen Ye finally understood the strategy for the 20th-floor dungeon.

“Bringing in newcomers for the mission…”

Chen Ye was a bit surprised.

Such a trial mission was indeed… peculiar!

“The maximum number of newcomers is fifteen,” Wen Xingyi said with a smile. “I imagine you’re aiming for the highest possible rating, so you’ll likely fill all the slots.”

“So, I’d like to buy one of those slots. What do you think, old classmate?”

Chen Ye gave her a strange look.

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll mess up and get you killed?”

Wen Xingyi nodded seriously. “If it were anyone else, I’d be worried! But you’re different!”

She smiled again and added, “Everyone in the Reincarnation Space knows that the mighty Shura is synonymous with perfect scores. If things really go wrong, I’ll just accept my bad luck.”

Although Wen Xingyi’s flattery was on point, Chen Ye still didn’t rush to agree. He thought for a moment and then asked, “Didn’t I share the strategy for the ‘Infernal Affairs’ dungeon with you before? What happened? You didn’t complete it?”

“I did!” Wen Xingyi replied, looking somewhat frustrated. “But I only got an S-rating. For some reason, Inspector Wong just wouldn’t believe me, and I almost failed the mission…”

She grew more upset as she spoke.

The same strategy had worked perfectly for Chen Ye, but when she used it, the results weren’t nearly as good. At first, she suspected that maybe Chen Ye had withheld some crucial details, but after thinking it through, she realized that wasn’t the case.

First, their transaction had been mediated through the system in the Trading Center, so if Chen Ye had lied, he would have been penalized by the system.

Second, after reviewing the situation, she concluded that Chen Ye’s method was indeed the most straightforward and effective approach.

The reason for her lesser success was likely due to her own execution.

Maybe she just wasn’t good at lying convincingly…

“S-rating, huh? You can’t blame me for that!” Chen Ye said, defending himself. “I told you everything I did, down to the last detail.”

“I know!” Wen Xingyi nodded again. “I must not have performed well enough. I was too nervous, which probably made Inspector Wong doubt me.”

“S-rating isn’t bad though. You must have gotten some decent rewards, right?” Chen Ye asked.

“Not bad, I ended up with about 3,000 Reincarnation Points.”

Wen Xingyi nodded once more and added, “I was originally planning to challenge the first floor of the Reincarnation Tower once the cooldown was over, but then I saw how quickly you were progressing. In such a short time, you’re already about to face the 20th-floor dungeon, so I decided to wait a couple of days and hope to catch a ride with you.”

“After all, the Reincarnation Tower dungeons are dangerous, and I wanted to accumulate a bit more experience before attempting them.”

“Of course, if it’s inconvenient for you, just forget I mentioned it.”

After saying all this, Wen Xingyi anxiously waited for Chen Ye’s response.

Chen Ye chuckled and said, “Come on, we’re old classmates—helping each other is only natural. Fine, I’ll reserve a slot for you!”

Wen Xingyi was overjoyed, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

“Chen Ye, thank you so much! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to show my gratitude…”

Before she could finish, Chen Ye interrupted, “If you still see me as a classmate, there’s no need for all that formality. Besides, I’m not interested in money. I’ve got more than enough for my needs.”

Not interested in money?

If anyone else had said that, Wen Xingyi would have scoffed. But coming from Chen Ye, she believed it.

Those who knew Chen Ye’s daily routine understood that he was solely focused on completing dungeons. His life in the real world was similar to that of a homebody.

Most people became reclusive because they were broke and had no other choice.

But clearly, that wasn’t the case for Chen Ye.

Someone like Chen Ye, with such grand ambitions, genuinely didn’t need much money.

“I understand… Thank you, Chen Ye,” Wen Xingyi said, sincerely grateful.

Recently, her father’s company had run into some financial issues.

If she had to come up with the money herself, she could manage, but it would put more strain on her father.

Even though Chen Ye had said there was no need to pay, Wen Xingyi was determined to find a way to repay his kindness someday.

“No need to be so polite.”

Chen Ye suddenly added, “But let me say this upfront—the Reincarnation Tower dungeons are dangerous. If something unexpected happens, I may not be able to guarantee your safety.”

Wen Xingyi quickly nodded. “I understand, and I’ve prepared myself mentally. If something happens while I’m with you, I’ll accept it.”

“Alright, it’s too late to start a dungeon tonight. Tomorrow night, come find me,” Chen Ye said.

“Deal!”

Wen Xingyi smiled brightly. “I won’t keep you any longer. You should get some rest. Goodnight!”

“Goodnight.”

With that, the call ended.

Somewhere in the Reincarnation Plaza.

After hanging up, Wen Xingyi couldn’t contain herself. She spun around in a circle, letting out a joyous cheer!

She had already mentally prepared herself for the possibility of being rejected.

After all, it had been a while since they last spoke, and Chen Ye was now a big figure, someone she could hardly hope to reach. Being turned down would have been normal…

But to her surprise, Chen Ye still remembered their old friendship and agreed to take her along.

It was a huge stroke of luck!

Anyone with half a brain could see how rare and precious this opportunity was.

Just looking at the massive lines in the safe zone’s dungeon hall made it clear…

With that, Wen Xingyi immediately logged off.

She wanted to share this fantastic news with her father!

Just as she was about to log out, a voice suddenly called out to her.

“Xingyi? Is that really you?”

A young female Reincarnator with a pure and innocent appearance approached with a smile. “I saw you jumping around from afar. What’s got you so excited?”

Seeing the newcomer, Wen Xingyi playfully replied, “It’s personal, I’m not telling!”

“Fine, keep your secrets!”

The girl pretended to be indifferent, but her curiosity got the better of her. “Come on, did some dream guy finally confess his love to you?”

Wen Xingyi rolled her eyes at the question, deciding it wasn’t worth explaining.

The girl noticed her lack of response and dropped the subject. She suddenly sighed and said, “Wow, the influence of Lord Shura is just incredible. I just passed by the dungeon hall, and it was packed. I couldn’t even find a place to stand in line!”

Hearing this, Wen Xingyi remained silent…

The girl, seemingly remembering something, perked up and asked, “Oh, by the way, Xingyi, I remember you were classmates with Lord Shura, right? Could you maybe ask him to reserve a slot for me? I’d be willing to negotiate any terms if he agrees!”

Wen Xingyi’s heart skipped a beat, but she kept a calm expression.

“We were classmates, yes, but we weren’t in the same class, and I’m not that close to him… Plus, with his current status, I’m really in no position to ask him for favors!”

“If I could, I’d ask him to help me first!”

“Oh, really?”

The girl gave her a knowing look, smiling slyly. “The way you were jumping around just now, I thought maybe Lord Shura had already agreed to take you along!”

This girl was clearly sharp.

She had noticed Wen Xingyi’s earlier phone call and deliberately didn’t approach right away, choosing instead to observe.

From what she knew of Wen Xingyi, the kind of excitement she had displayed could very well be related to Lord Shura’s dungeon run.

And of course, the girl wanted a chance to join.

But unfortunately, the competition for those 15 spots was intense!

“Cousin, you’re overthinking it!”

Wen Xingyi replied calmly, “I’m really not that close to Lord Shura.”

She had no choice but to lie!

If her cousin knew that Shura had indeed offered her a spot, she would undoubtedly do something drastic…

“Heh, alright, alright. No need to be so tense. I was just messing with you…”

Her cousin chuckled. “It’s getting late, and it looks like I won’t be able to get in line today. I’m calling it a night. Make sure to come visit me sometime, Xingyi.”

“Sure thing, cousin.”

Watching her cousin log off, Wen Xingyi finally let out a deep sigh of relief…
