GROIKTP Chapter 597

This entry is part 520 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

**A Certain Film Production Company**

In the massive conference room, a commendation ceremony was underway.

The company president stood on stage, delivering an impassioned speech.

“First of all, congratulations to our new drama for achieving the number one rating in all time slots! Our latest show, *King of the Reincarnators*, has reached this incredible milestone thanks to the entire crew, but especially to Director Guo Dasi. Without his vision, this drama would never have come to life. Let’s give a big round of applause for Mr. Guo Dasi!”

*Clap! Clap! Clap!*

The room was filled with applause.

Everyone in the conference room was clapping, their faces beaming with smiles.

Amidst the applause, a short man walked onto the stage, taking the microphone from the host.

“Thank you, President Wang, for your praise! Though *King of the Reincarnators* was largely my idea and I directed it… still, I couldn’t have created this work without the help of the entire crew. So, I’d like to thank everyone at XXX…”

As the short man spoke confidently on stage, many of the company’s employees and other contracted directors sitting in the audience were noticeably unhappy.

“What’s he so smug about? He only got popular by skirting the edge of the rules.”

“Hmph, just wait. When that big shot finds out, this little guy is going to be in serious trouble.”

“That’s right. The bigger the success of this show, the quicker he’s going to crash and burn for stepping on the toes of a real boss.”

Several people in the audience quietly gossiped, not in the least interested in listening to Guo Dasi’s self-congratulatory speech.

Wherever there are people, there’s conflict.

Even within the same company, there’s always competition. And in the entertainment industry, where resources are everything, the competition is even fiercer.

The company’s budget is only so large, and if it’s used to fund one person’s project, others have to wait. Jealousy over Guo Dasi’s success ran high, especially considering his drama had achieved the number one rating in the golden time slot.

Becoming a top-rated director wasn’t something just anyone could accomplish.

Regardless of what was said below, none of it reached Guo Dasi’s ears.

At this moment, he was reveling in the pinnacle of his career.

“…Also, I must give special thanks to our lead actor, Zhao Xiao. Without his constant encouragement, this drama wouldn’t have gone so smoothly. His input during our script discussions also provided me with great inspiration. Let’s welcome Mr. Zhao Xiao to the stage!”

*Clap! Clap!*

The applause rang out again.

A well-groomed young man stood up with a smile and made his way to the stage.

As Zhao Xiao ascended the stage, a small detail didn’t escape the attention of many in the audience. He pursed his lips at Guo Dasi in what seemed to be a subtle gesture.

*Ugh!*

Quite a few people in the audience were disgusted on the spot, silently cursing him in their minds.

Just then!

*Boom!*

The conference room doors were violently kicked open from the outside.

Immediately after, a squad of fully armed soldiers stormed in, surrounding the entire room.

The lead officer barked, “Military operation! Everyone remain seated and do not move!”

The sudden upheaval left everyone in the room completely stunned.

“W-Who are you? Which military division are you from?” the company president stammered nervously.

The officer glanced at him coldly and asked, “Are you the person in charge?”

The president instinctively nodded.

Before he could say another word, the officer waved his hand and shouted, “Take him!”

Immediately, two soldiers rushed forward, grabbing the president with swift precision.

“What—what’s going on? Officer! There must be some mistake! I haven’t done anything wrong!” the president yelled in panic.

But the officer paid no attention to his protests. His gaze swept across the room.

“Which one of you is Guo Dasi?”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s eyes turned toward the short man on stage.

The officer wasn’t foolish. He made his way straight to Guo Dasi.

Even standing on the stage, Guo Dasi’s short stature made the officer, standing below, appear to tower over him.

“You’re Guo Dasi?”

In that moment, Guo Dasi was no longer the confident figure he’d been earlier. His legs trembled, and cold sweat poured from his forehead.

“Y-Yes, sir, I am…”

“Take him!” the officer ordered, waving his hand again.

Two soldiers leapt up, grabbing Guo Dasi like a helpless chicken.

Guo Dasi began screaming in terror.

“Officer, I’m innocent! What crime have I committed?”

The officer replied coldly, “Treason.”

At that word, Guo Dasi was left dumbfounded.

Treason??

That was a capital crime—one that meant certain death. If he took the fall for this, there would be no escape.

“No, it’s impossible! Officer, I didn’t…”

The officer had no interest in hearing more of his excuses. He pulled out a list and addressed the room.

“I’m going to start reading off names. When your name is called, stand up. Don’t make me use force. First name—Zhao Xiao.”

As each name was called, another person was taken away.

Everyone else in the room turned pale, sitting frozen in fear, terrified that their name might be called next.

However, as the officer continued reading, it became apparent that the people being taken were all those connected to *King of the Reincarnators*.

After the officer had successfully apprehended the last person on the list, his icy demeanor shifted, and he flashed a surprisingly kind smile.

Standing on stage, he looked down at the remaining employees and picked up the microphone again.

“My apologies for the scare,” he said with a smile.

No one dared say a word.

The officer, undeterred by the silence, continued cheerfully, “This operation is classified. I expect all of you to keep today’s events strictly confidential. Can I count on that?”

As he finished speaking, his tone grew suddenly stern.

The crowd quickly nodded and voiced their compliance.

“We can do that, absolutely…”

“Right, I won’t breathe a word of this, even if I’m threatened!”

“What just happened? I don’t know anything…”

Satisfied with their responses, the officer’s smile returned. “Good. Thank you all for your cooperation.”

With that, he stepped off the stage and signaled to his troops.

“Move out!”

It wasn’t until long after the soldiers had left that the remaining employees began to recover from the shock.

Some of the more timid ones couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into tears.

It had been a terrifying ordeal!

Even the braver ones were drenched in cold sweat, thoroughly shaken by what had just transpired.

By now, it was clear to everyone: a powerful figure had intervened.

After all, that’s what it means to be a true big shot.
