GROIKTP Chapter 605

This entry is part 528 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

“Jingjing, happy birthday!”

Upon seeing the young man before her, Cao Jingjing immediately smiled.

As she accepted the gift, she playfully teased, “Tan Dong, when I called you earlier, didn’t you say you were out of town and couldn’t make it?”

The young man named Tan Dong responded honestly, “You told me Yuting was invited. No matter how far I was, I would’ve made it here!”

Cao Jingjing couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “You’re still as annoying as ever! Can’t you at least say something sweet to make me feel better?”

“I only say sweet things to Yuting!” Tan Dong replied bluntly before asking, “Has Yuting arrived?”

“She has.”

Hearing this, Tan Dong’s eyes lit up with excitement.

However, Cao Jingjing quickly added, “But… Tan Dong, you might want to prepare yourself.”

“Huh? Prepare for what?” Tan Dong asked, confused.

Cao Jingjing sighed and explained, “Yuting didn’t come alone. She brought her boyfriend.”

Instantly, a cold glint flashed in Tan Dong’s eyes.

“Jingjing, that joke’s not funny.”

“Sigh! I knew you wouldn’t believe me, but it’s true.”

Cao Jingjing spread her hands and warned, “Tan Dong, today’s my birthday, so don’t cause any trouble later. Don’t embarrass me!”

Clearly, Cao Jingjing knew Tan Dong’s temper and was trying to prevent a scene.

Tan Dong stared at Cao Jingjing for a moment, seeing that she wasn’t joking. His expression turned serious as he replied, “Alright, Jingjing, I’ll give you that respect.”

“Good. Now go inside, and I’ll catch up with you later.”

Tan Dong nodded, his face tense, and walked into the mansion.

The thought of his goddess having a boyfriend? It was a heavy blow to him!

Cao Jingjing’s mansion’s grand hall was like a small event venue—spacious and lavishly decorated. Famous calligraphy and paintings adorned the walls, while the floor was paved with expensive “Jingtailan” marble, which cost thousands per square meter. Even the chandeliers above were encrusted with real gemstones.

Under the soft glow of the lights, the gemstones sparkled, making the entire hall feel like a scene from a fantasy realm.

Long banquet tables lined both sides of the hall, offering a variety of rare delicacies for the guests to enjoy.

But none of this could hold Tan Dong’s attention.

He’d long since grown tired of such luxuries.

After entering the hall, Tan Dong’s eyes began scanning the crowd.

Before long, he spotted what he was looking for.

At the far end of the room, Tang Yuting was carefully peeling an Australian lobster. But instead of eating it herself, she lovingly fed it to the young man sitting beside her.

When the man took a bite, Tang Yuting’s face lit up with happiness, and she began peeling another one.

Witnessing this, Tan Dong nearly exploded on the spot!

The woman he saw as his untouchable goddess was now behaving like a doting admirer, serving someone else?

Tan Dong glared at the young man with murderous intent, wanting nothing more than to rush over and smash his face.

But he reminded himself where he was—Cao Jingjing’s house.

And tonight was her birthday.

If he acted recklessly, he’d not only offend the Cao family but also make a fool of himself.

Though he wasn’t afraid of what the Cao family could do, his father would probably break his legs when he got home…

With that in mind, Tan Dong forced himself to hold back.

His gaze remained locked on the young man as he carefully studied him, seemingly committing every detail to memory.

After observing for a while, Tan Dong had to admit that the guy wasn’t just some random pretty boy—his aura was extraordinary.

There was an unspoken authority about him, the kind of presence that Tan Dong had only seen in powerful figures.

Yet, those powerful figures were all in their sixties…

“Hmm?”

As Chen Ye enjoyed the food Tang Yuting was feeding him, his brow suddenly furrowed.

His heightened senses made him incredibly aware of his surroundings. Even from a distance, he could feel when someone harbored hostility toward him.

Tan Dong’s glaring eyes didn’t escape his notice.

“Chen Ye, what’s wrong? Don’t like the honey flavor?” Tang Yuting asked sweetly.

Chen Ye shook his head, gave Tan Dong a glance, then dismissed the thought.

Just a small fry, not worth remembering.

“It’s nothing. I’m almost full. You should eat something too.”

Tang Yuting smiled sweetly. “Okay!”

She picked up a small dessert and took delicate bites.

As Tang Yuting enjoyed her food, Chen Ye suddenly remembered the upcoming challenge and smiled. “Yuting, I’m about to tackle the 20th-floor dungeon. You’ve heard about that, right?”

Tang Yuting nodded. “Yes, I know. Too bad I’m no longer a newcomer; otherwise, I’d join you.”

Chen Ye was curious. “Hasn’t anyone tried asking you to pass a message to me or put in a word?”

Tang Yuting hesitated briefly before admitting, “Well, there were a few… but I didn’t want to burden you!”

Such a considerate girl!

Chen Ye was quite pleased with her thoughtfulness and smiled. “Don’t think of it that way. If we’re still worried about little things like this, how are we any different from casual acquaintances?”

Hearing this, Tang Yuting blushed and looked down shyly.

“And besides!” Chen Ye added, “I don’t know that many people, and I still have 14 spots open. If I have to pick someone, I’d rather let you use them as a favor. It doesn’t matter who asks you for help—you can agree, as long as they listen to me in the dungeon.”

Tang Yuting’s eyes lit up slightly.

In truth, many people knew about her relationship with Chen Ye and had come to her for help, including two close friends she didn’t want to turn down.

Even her parents had received requests from some officials asking if she could secure a spot for their children.

However, just as she had said, she didn’t want to trouble Chen Ye and hadn’t agreed to any of these requests.

Her parents, being reasonable people, didn’t pressure her either.

Now, with Chen Ye’s approval, she could finally offer some spots, even helping her father with his political career.

“I understand. Thank you, Chen Ye.”

“What are you thanking me for? Helping you is something I should do.”

Chen Ye laughed as he gently patted her head.

Tang Yuting beamed with happiness.

Watching this scene from a distance, Tan Dong was burning with rage and jealousy…

Chen Ye and Tang Yuting continued their quiet conversation.

But just then, the sound of footsteps approached.

Someone was heading quickly toward them…
