- Online Game : God Level Assasin, I am The Shadow!
- GTA Chapter 112
Soon, the Knights’ Sanctuary guild leader, Chen Wuming, learned about Qin Xiaoyou’s discovery.
He was pleased; it seemed this “money pit” was finally proving useful!
“Lately, we’ve only found one silver-level sanctuary, and it’s nowhere near enough for our guild’s members.”
“We’re going to need at least a gold-level, or even a platinum-level sanctuary!”
“I hope Xiaoyou’s find will be something above gold-level!”
Chen Wuming smiled with satisfaction.
He privately messaged Qin Xiaoyou: “Well done! If it turns out to be a sanctuary, the guild will reward you.”
“Thanks, Guild Leader~” Qin Xiaoyou replied, feeling elated…
Soon, Chen Wuming gathered hundreds of Knights’ Sanctuary members and directed them toward the area surrounding the Purifying Soul Grounds entrance, clearing out any unaffiliated players in the vicinity.
He wanted to send a team to explore first and ensure no one would interfere when they attacked the sanctuary.
…
Meanwhile, Qin Feng, having finished his meal, logged back in, feeling full and ready to head back to the Wraith Academy.
He had plenty of jade-grade gear and skill books stashed there, and now that he had “Baphitch’s Pact of Equivalent Exchange,” he could sacrifice gear and skill books from other classes to convert them into assassin-specific items.
When he donned his new leg armor, he found it to be a sleek, black leather piece that radiated a unique energy, offering a calming, steadying force.
Qin Feng recognized it immediately…
It was the effect of that special attribute, “Whisper Resistance”!
Once you reach diamond-grade equipment, there’s a chance it will carry special attributes. These are called “superior traits.”
For instance, there’s Whisper/Whisper Resistance, Death/Death Resistance, Decay/Decay Resistance, and many others.
Take “Whisper” as an example:
Generally, any diamond-grade boss and certain special bosses are linked to remnants of the Old Gods’ thoughts.
Their attacks and skills will build up a player’s “Whisper Gauge,” and simply being near them can increase the gauge over time.
Once it hits 100%, the player will lose control, driven mad by whispers!
Among these superior traits, “Death” is the most fearsome.
Some bosses will cause a “Death Gauge” to build with each attack. When it reaches 100%, the player dies instantly!
The corresponding “Resistance” traits slow down the accumulation of these gauges and, when out of combat, help them dissipate faster.
“Under normal circumstances, players in the Godforsaken Game wouldn’t encounter superior traits so early…”
“Even diamond-level bosses don’t always carry these traits.”
Qin Feng wasn’t particularly worried.
These traits were advantageous, no matter how many he had…
He mounted his Spectral Wolf and began to hurry back. He intended to teleport to the Mo Capital ruins, but just as he approached the teleportation array in the Jiang Hai ruins, a system prompt appeared!
——
[Your sanctuary “Purifying Soul Grounds” is under attack!]
[Current Stone Gate Durability: 99.9% (Sustained Damage)]
[Current Magic Defense Barrier Durability: 100%]
[Do you wish to use “War Teleport”?]
(Available Daily Uses: 1/1)
——
The system prompt took Qin Feng by surprise.
“The Purifying Soul Grounds are under attack?”
He frowned.
When one’s sanctuary is under attack, the “War Teleport” feature allows direct teleportation back to the sanctuary.
This ability, however, can only be used once daily, so to avoid wasting it, Qin Feng had refrained from using it in the past.
“No.”
Qin Feng selected “No.”
It wasn’t that the situation wasn’t urgent; rather, he was close by and had no need to use his once-a-day War Teleport.
He turned his mount around and sped towards the Purifying Soul Grounds entrance.
The Spectral Wolf was incredibly fast, but as he neared his destination, Qin Feng dismounted.
After all, the Spectral Wolf’s stealth level was only one and could easily be detected.
Disguised in shadow, he arrived at the area undetected and was greeted with a classic scene.
Six Knights’ Sanctuary members were chasing down a small team of regular players!
“We’ve claimed this area for Knights’ Sanctuary; no unauthorized players allowed!”
“You think you can just force your way in?”
“Wifey, Ice Wall! Block them!”
“Ice Wall!”
Guild territory? Qin Feng was speechless. Wasn’t this a cliché right out of a pre-transmigration online novel?
The six Knights’ Sanctuary members included a tank, healer, and damage dealers. A female mage with a blue robe and a face that was all too trendy raised her hand and cast a ten-meter-long Ice Wall, blocking the team of six regular players and reducing their speed by 50% with its chilling effect.
Of the regular players, male and female alike, a ponytailed girl with a sweet, innocent look turned pale, whispering, “We’re just passing through; we never intended to trespass…”
Another woman with long hair and a more assertive demeanor snapped angrily, “If you want to kill us and take our loot, just say so—don’t pretend to be virtuous while acting like bandits!”
The six guild members faced them, and a yellow-haired berserker sneered, “I said you’re trespassing, so you are. Get over it.” He leapt into the air, swinging his twin axes, and struck down with a ground-shaking slam, blasting the six players off their feet!
Just as they were about to be pummeled by a flurry of follow-up attacks…
Without warning, a bloody blade light flashed across the field, cutting down four of the guild members, including the berserker and the mage, instantly!
Caught off guard, the surviving healer and tank froze in shock.
The healer shouted in party chat, “Damn, is it the Underpants Hero? Is that guy trolling again?”
The berserker’s enraged voice came through, “To hell with the Underpants Hero! It’s Shadow! We all got one-shot by Shadow!!”
The healer’s expression quickly turned pale, “Yeah, right, Underpants Hero couldn’t one-shot you guys… Wait, what? Did you say *Shadow*? Ahh—”
The color drained from his face as he realized what this meant.
The tank, gripping his round shield, trembled and stammered, “But… wasn’t Shadow supposed to be in the Mo Capital? Why is he here?”
At that moment, Qin Feng materialized from the shadows, his face covered by a dark veil, only his cold eyes visible. With a casual wave, he summoned a flower of death on the four bodies, harvesting their lifespans.
With his slayer status nearly at level five, Qin Feng had no intention of going on a killing spree. After all, summoning a certain NPC would be far from ideal…
To put it bluntly, Qin Feng wasn’t sure he could handle that NPC!
So, he decided to “peacefully” resolve this matter instead.
He now knew that the ones attacking the Purifying Soul Grounds were from Knights’ Sanctuary.
“Since that’s the case, Chen Wuming won’t be getting away unscathed today…”
Qin Feng smirked to himself.
He dispatched the four marked as “slayers,” then faced the last two for some “peaceful negotiations.”
“Call your guild leader.”
His voice, enhanced by a voice modulator, was cold and impersonal.
“Yes, yes, sir, right away!” The pudgy healer straightened up and saluted, instantly obedient.
Meanwhile…
“Whoa, it’s Shadow!!”
“Oh my god, my idol saved me!!”
The small team Qin Feng had just saved quickly recovered from their stunned state and took in the scene, their excitement evident.
Only the ponytailed girl seemed frozen as she caught sight of “Shadow.”
Even with his face hidden, the moment she saw his eyes, she felt an uncanny familiarity.
“Could it be… Qin Feng?”
“No, it couldn’t be…”
“If it were him, he wouldn’t have left his sister behind…”
With a bitter smile, she pushed the thought aside. She was Yang Xiaoya, Qin Feng’s former colleague.
Seeing her was what prompted Qin Feng to intervene and help. However, he had no idea that a single glance had nearly revealed his identity.
Even Qin Xiaoyou hadn’t recognized him before.
Clearly, after all these years, Qin Xiaoyou knew far less about him than a coworker who once secretly harbored feelings for him…
Of course, Qin Feng was unaware of Yang Xiaoya’s thoughts and would never reveal his identity to her—that would benefit neither of them.
After ordering the Knights’ Sanctuary healer to call their guild leader, it wasn’t long before Chen Wuming himself showed up, riding a battle leopard and leading over a hundred guild members.
Their numbers seemed impressive.
But as he reached Qin Feng, Chen Wuming raised a hand, and the guild members all shouted in unison, “Hail Shadow, the Immortal Master! Long live Shadow, ruler of the land!!”
Chen Wuming, grinning, then asked, “Is there anything I can do for you, sir? Someone in our guild must’ve messed up, huh? Just say the word, and I’ll boot them. If they complain, I’ll make sure to kick them good and hard!”
Unaware, he didn’t yet realize that the sanctuary they had been attacking was *Shadow’s* own.
