GTA Chapter 128

This entry is part 129 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

Chu Kunshan’s head suddenly fell to the ground!

Dongfang Yue and Chu Nantian were completely caught off guard.

Splat!

Immediately after, a sickly green chain blade flew from the hand of a petite figure, piercing Dongfang Yue’s abdomen and lifting her elegant, noble form high into the air!

“Damn it!”

Seventeen-year-old Chu Nantian, seeing this, didn’t hesitate. He grabbed a nearby mahogany chair and hurled it at the small figure!

In his mind, such a heavy strike would at least leave the girl bloodied and injured.

However…

Bang!

The mahogany chair shattered against the table, splintering into pieces, as the petite girl easily dodged without a scratch!

She countered with a swift kick, snapping Chu Nantian’s right leg and sending him collapsing to the ground, screaming in pain.

“Ah—”

Dongfang Yue and Chu Nantian were still alive, albeit barely.

Their screams, however, did not carry beyond the basement walls.

This was thanks to the superb soundproofing of their underground lair—designed to prevent the cries of tortured victims from escaping. Little did they expect to find themselves in the same predicament.

“It’s you… it’s you?!”

When Dongfang Yue, suspended by the chain blade, recognized Gui Ling’s face, she was consumed by terror.

She remembered now.

She had run over a civilian woman and dumped the woman’s husband into the Huangpu River… The girl before her was their daughter.

To Dongfang Yue, all commoners were beneath her.

She saw herself as superior, wielding life-and-death power over them.

Even after the Forsaken God Game descended, she maintained her lofty status.

But now…

As her once-dominant husband lay dead before her, and as the chain blade pierced her abdomen, Dongfang Yue finally grasped…

How fragile life truly was.

“How is this possible…”

“How did you get in…”

Her vision began to blur.

She was in disbelief.

Finally, the words from Chu Datou’s earlier call echoed in her mind…

Strength.

Strength was everything.

Without strength, no amount of lifespan mattered; it couldn’t be protected.

“So all this time, I was just fooling myself…”

Gui Ling watched Dongfang Yue and Chu Nantian with cold, expressionless eyes.

She raised her hand, retracting the chain blade.

Dongfang Yue’s body collapsed weakly to the ground.

She wasn’t dead yet.

“I was planning to torture you slowly, to let you feel the same pain my mother suffered when you ran her over… but never mind.”

Gui Ling’s voice was tinged with disappointment.

It wasn’t compassion that held her back.

She simply knew her time was limited.

“Consider yourself lucky.”

With a flick of her wrist, the chain blade shot out again, piercing the hearts of Dongfang Yue and Chu Nantian.

Dongfang Yue never imagined that the hundreds of years of lifespan she lost in the game allowed Gui Ling to extract enough power to bring this vengeance into reality…

Gui Ling didn’t relax for a moment.

She searched the basement thoroughly and soon found a trembling teddy dog.

“No living things must remain.”

Recalling the advice of the ‘Shadow’ master, Gui Ling sent it to the afterlife with a single strike.

She also discovered several mangled and unidentifiable corpses in the spacious basement, gnawed and tortured beyond recognition…

She looked at the remains, sighed, but didn’t linger.

“Absorb the lifespan first.”

“Then take away nine bodies.”

Gui Ling was aware of the existence of ‘Investigators’ among the authorities, who could use corpses to track down killers.

So, she wouldn’t leave any evidence behind.

Fortunately, she was well-prepared, having purchased a 20-slot storage ring that she extracted into reality.

In the game, a 20-slot space equated to 20 cubic meters of storage in reality!

While it couldn’t store living beings, it worked perfectly for the dead.

Just then.

Smack!

Gui Ling crushed a mosquito with a swift motion.

“Not even mosquitoes can be spared.”

She stomped on a small bug crawling nearby.

“Nor bugs.”

Taking Shadow’s advice as life doctrine, she tossed several gas canisters throughout the basement and villa.

Gas spread!

Every living thing in the villa would be wiped out!

Meanwhile, Qin Feng was still grinding monsters on the Terrifying Ghost Ship.

Moments later, he received a private message from the young Gui Ling: “Senior, it’s done.”

Qin Feng responded, “Everything taken care of?”

Gui Ling: “All done. I also found out that Dongfang Yue and her husband were planning to lure you to some fireworks factory…”

Gui Ling’s detailed account left Qin Feng slightly speechless.

“Lure me to a fireworks factory and blow it up?”

“What a stroke of genius…”

Qin Feng had to admit that being in such an environment could indeed lead to injury.

The sheer frequency of explosions would overwhelm evasion and the Blacklight Shield.

But the real question was…

Would he even bother showing up?

Even if the message had reached him, he wouldn’t have gone.

He wasn’t about to waste time on every random plot.

Still, he was surprised that the Devil City officials had intercepted the message and eliminated both the factory and foreign operatives.

“It seems the authorities value me more than I expected.”

Qin Feng made a mental note.

Gui Ling listed her kills: “Six armed guards, Dongfang Yue, Chu Kunshan, and Chu Nantian… a total of nine.”

“Wait, Chu Nantian?”

Hearing this, Qin Feng was stunned.

Gui Ling: “Yes, the son of Dongfang Yue and Chu Kunshan. He was there, so I took care of him too.”

Qin Feng: “…”

All he could say was, impressive.

In his past life, Gui Ling hadn’t been the first to try assassinating Dongfang Yue. The initial attempt was by a man called ‘Boss Ji,’ who hired assassins but failed. Afterwards, Dongfang Yue sent Chu Nantian to a military camp for protection… Eventually, Gui Ling killed Dongfang Yue and her husband.

A year later, Chu Nantian entered the game, became a necromancer with an emerald-tier talent, and rose to become a top figure under the Devil City authorities.

His role in Gui Ling’s demise couldn’t be overstated.

But now…

Gui Ling struck early, catching Chu Nantian at the scene!

And she eliminated him!

Qin Feng could only conclude…

Fate had a twisted sense of irony.

Actions have consequences—words from the ancients held true.

Ten minutes later.

The gruesome scene at ‘Yufenghua’ villa district was discovered because the security team failed to make their routine ten-minute check-in.

However, by the time investigators arrived, Gui Ling had already vanished with the bodies!

She had meticulously scouted the area beforehand, even disabling all surrounding surveillance.

All that remained was blood, hinting at the grim fate of Dongfang Yue and her family.

This left one burning question.

Who was responsible?

“It wasn’t Shadow; he’s been online consistently and had no time for such an act.”

“Dongfang Yue had many enemies, but few could pull this off…”

“I’ve got it—it must be Boss Ji!”
