- Online Game : God Level Assasin, I am The Shadow!
- GTA Chapter 143
The Soul Walker class was incredibly unique.
In terms of combat strength, it was almost negligible, as the class lacked any damage-dealing abilities. Although it could wear mage equipment, it couldn’t learn any mage skills. All its power stemmed from its signature skill:
Soul Conversion.
This skill allowed the Soul Walker to transform themselves and their teammates into soul forms. In this form, they couldn’t attack or take damage and had no collision with physical objects. This ability was invaluable for exploring ruins or navigating complex labyrinths, making the Soul Walker an exceptional support class.
But the most critical aspect was…
The Soul Walker could also transform enemies into soul forms, thereby disabling their abilities!
Imagine a 6v6 battle where the Soul Walker transformed five opponents into soul forms, leaving only one enemy capable of fighting. The team could gang up on the remaining enemy, take them out, and then release one opponent at a time, systematically eliminating them.
Such game-changing potential was precisely why the Magic City officials were willing to collaborate with Zuma, a Soul Walker.
It was also why the officials agreed to Theodore’s request to pardon Tony’s group.
—-
Recently, Zuma had even been invited by the Magic City officials to assist in taking down a platinum-level boss in the wild. At a critical moment, his Soul Conversion skill saved several government players on the brink of death, earning him their admiration and respect.
This convinced the Magic City officials to maintain their partnership with Theodore.
However…
They were unaware that Theodore’s cooperation was a facade. Although he had offered minor assistance, his actions before leaving would deal the officials a significant blow.
For Zuma, lacking offensive capabilities meant relying entirely on his team. He was a North American who had traveled to Da Xia for a street dance competition, only to get caught up in the Divine Abandonment Game.
As a Soul Walker, he didn’t need to focus on damage output. Instead, he prioritized cooldown reduction, duration extensions, and survivability. His equipment was stacked with attributes that boosted health, physical defense, and elemental resistance.
This approach made Zuma extraordinarily resilient. Despite being a magic-based class, he was tougher than many tank classes, capable of enduring two or three times more damage than a standard mage.
With the golden equipment looted from Tony’s group, Theodore’s team’s damage output significantly increased. Two minutes into their fight with the platinum-level boss Thousand-Blade Centipede, Moville, the boss’s health dropped to 95%. Moville let out a piercing screech, summoning dozens of crimson centipedes from the ruins.
This was the boss’s primary challenge: its relentless ability to summon minions. If the team failed to clear the minions in time, Moville would absorb them, restoring health and increasing the number of blades on its body.
Moville’s grotesque features twisted with rage as its centipede-like legs, sharp as blades, slashed toward Iron Fist Amos. Amos dodged and blocked, his health kept steady at half by Theodore’s healing spells.
“The minions are out.”
“Zuma.”
Theodore’s calm command came as they faced a flood of crimson centipedes.
Their previous attempt to defeat Moville had failed because their damage output wasn’t enough to clear the minions. This allowed the boss to fully heal after every summon. But with their newly enhanced gear, their damage had improved significantly.
As dozens of crimson centipedes swarmed the area, Zuma raised his hand and cast Soul Conversion. Instantly, about twenty of the centipedes were transformed into soul forms. In this state, the minions couldn’t attack or be attacked, reducing the pressure on the team.
“Focus fire!”
The knight, wielding a golden halberd previously owned by Tony, unleashed a Ground-Shattering Whirlwind, gathering over ten minions into one spot and stunning them. The team unleashed a barrage of area attacks, decimating the stunned centipedes.
The team demonstrated skillful coordination and formidable individual prowess. With Zuma’s support, it seemed possible to slowly grind down the platinum-level boss.
Unfortunately for them, the Skull Ruins happened to be Qin Feng’s destination.
Unseen and unheard, Qin Feng had already arrived in the ruins, drawn by the sounds of battle. As he approached, he realized it was Theodore’s team fighting the boss. Noticing the golden halberd wielded by the knight, Qin Feng pieced it together:
“So, they looted Tony’s equipment after getting him released through diplomatic channels? Impressive.”
“Diplomacy to free them, followed by robbing them. Theodore lives up to his reputation.”
In his past life, Qin Feng hadn’t interacted much with Theodore, but he knew of him. He had often lamented that if Qin Xiaoyou’s support skills were as strong as Theodore’s, their guild, Slayers, would have ranked among the global top ten instead of being confined to Jianghai City.
But now, things were different.
As Qin Feng stealthed into the battlefield, Moville’s health was at 94%. He wasn’t about to let Theodore’s team finish the fight.
Silently, Qin Feng positioned himself behind Zuma.
The dreadlocked Soul Walker had no idea he was in danger until a black shuriken pierced his heart from behind.
Shadow Blade!
-164,000 (Critical Weakness Attack)!
A lifespan orb, larger than most, dropped from Zuma’s body as he collapsed.
“F***! We’re under attack!”
“Zuma’s been one-shot!”
“What? That’s impossible! Zuma’s a tank mage with over 6,000 health. Who could one-shot him?”
“Retreat! Everyone, retreat now!”
In the team channel, Zuma’s stunned voice rang out: “It’s Shadow! Shadow killed me!”
The name sent a chill through the team. Theodore, Fury, Amos, and the others hastily began to retreat, their hearts racing.
But before they could escape, a circular blade of darkness swept across the battlefield.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
-188,000 (Critical Weakness Attack)!
-175,000 (Critical Weakness Attack)!
One by one, Iron Fist Amos, Theodore, and the rest of the team fell, their lifespan orbs scattering across the ground.
The last survivor was Fury, the golden-haired Gunslinger. She clutched her rifle as her bubble gum plastered against her face, paralyzed with fear.
Her once unshakable confidence was gone.
An exchange student from North America, Fury had always been treated well in Da Xia, fostering a sense of superiority. Under Theodore’s guidance, she had progressed rapidly, even acquiring the Book of Divine Gifts from the Tower of Divine Authority early on.
But now…
Facing Shadow, she felt like an insignificant insect about to be crushed.
In mere moments, her teammates were wiped out.
Fury herself had only survived because she was crouched in a corner, and Qin Feng’s Night Blade Ring had narrowly missed her.
“We’re Magic City’s official partners!” she shouted in clumsy Mandarin, desperation in her voice. “Shadow, you can’t kill us!”
Her plea was met with another black shuriken, this time piercing her forehead.
-172,000 (Critical Weakness Attack)!
Fury’s blue eyes widened in disbelief as she crumpled to the ground, a massive lifespan orb rolling free.
“Why did Shadow kill us?”
“Aren’t we official partners of the Magic City?”
“We’ve lost so much lifespan. Contact the officials and have them negotiate with Shadow!”
Theodore’s team respawned at the Magic City ruins, their faces filled with confusion and fury.
Theodore immediately opened his friend list, initiating a private chat with a Magic City official.
News of Shadow’s massacre of Theodore’s team quickly spread.
Hearing the details, many officials in the Magic City began to break out in cold sweats.
