GTA Chapter 160

This entry is part 161 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

Who is the Film Vigilante?

The Jianghai City authorities desperately wanted to uncover their identity, yet they had no leads.

Even this latest appearance provided no actionable evidence.

The Film Vigilante struck swiftly, dealt with the targets, and cleaned up the bodies—all in just over ten seconds.

From surveillance footage, all that could be seen was a blurred, bone-white figure—useless for identifying the perpetrator.

“One thing’s clear: it’s definitely not Shadow.”
“If it were Shadow, there wouldn’t even be a shadow to capture on camera.”
“This Film Vigilante feels more like a superhero out of the movies, don’t you think?”
“True, both incidents involved punishing evildoers. Although, in this case, the targets might not have deserved death…”
“I disagree. Based on their behavior, these individuals were a significant threat to society. If they had gained more power, they could have caused chaos for ordinary people.”

Within the Jianghai City official ranks, opinions on the Film Vigilante were deeply divided.

Some viewed them as a dangerous vigilante, destabilizing the fragile order.

Others believed their actions had purpose, targeting evildoers with precision, and potentially deterring further crimes.

The authorities decided to publicize the incident.

On the surface, the announcement urged the Film Vigilante to turn themselves in. But in reality, it was a calculated move to instill fear and restore order across Jianghai City.

By spreading the notion of a vengeful, untraceable vigilante, they hoped to make would-be criminals think twice.

“With such a fierce enforcer in Jianghai, anyone contemplating crime might reconsider.”

Meanwhile…

None of this mattered to Qin Feng.

He continued his relentless back-and-forth between Jianghai and the Magic Capital, methodically hunting down every platinum and emerald-level boss reported to him.

Two and a Half Days Later

Global player development surged during this time.

Players with high talent and advanced classes began to pull ahead, while the majority remained around Level 10.

The strongest players had already reached Level 15, unlocking city-to-city teleportation functions.

News from around the world painted a picture of how chaotic the Forsaken Game had made the planet:

-In North America’s Gotham City, a hidden-class player called “The Joker”, despite being only Level 13, had already undergone two class advancements, becoming a nightmare for Gotham’s elite.

-In India, a hidden-class “Gourmet Chef”, designed to enhance players’ attributes with prepared meals, caused over 100 deaths due to food poisoning—thanks to questionable ingredients.

-In Japan, a hidden-class “Demolition Expert” assassinated the Prime Minister again, sending shockwaves across the globe.

“Wait… again?!”

The arrival of Forsaken Game had plunged the world into unprecedented turmoil.

Smaller nations, unable to maintain control, devolved into full-blown anarchy within days.

Where official power waned, jungle law reigned.

The strong dominated.

The weak became slaves—or tools for the strong to harvest lifespan.

Only powerful nations like Daxia and the North American Empire managed to maintain a semblance of order.

Even so, both faced significant upheaval.

North America, already chaotic before, simply became more extreme.

In Daxia, many formerly honest citizens, now empowered through the game, resorted to shocking acts of violence.

Daxia’s government worked tirelessly to maintain control.

They trained and recruited hidden-class players, such as Investigators and Beast Tamers, to assist in solving crimes and restoring order.

Despite these efforts, most industries and services had ground to a halt.

To address food and water shortages, Daxia utilized God-Given Tomes to mass-produce essentials, distributing them at reduced costs.

This approach alleviated much of the population’s suffering but came at a steep cost.

The collapse of the global economy severed the avenue for printing money to buy lifespan, leaving lifespan-based transactions as the new norm.

Fortunately, Daxia’s previously acquired lifespan reserves bought them some breathing room. Once players reached higher levels and gained access to more God-Given Tomes, pressure on resources would ease.

The entire world was adjusting to this new reality.

And Qin Feng?

He remained steadfast, quietly and efficiently one-shotting bosses.

Present Day

Qin Feng, riding Osirio, carried Wan Ye Weiyu, a Huntress, toward their next platinum-level target when a private message from Gui Ling appeared.

“Teacher! I grew a tail!”

Qin Feng blinked in confusion.

Checking her level…

Level 10.

“What the…?”

“You’ve barely leveled up, but you’ve already advanced your class?”

Gui Ling’s third class advancement as Blade of the Underworld granted her a bone-tail weapon—a white, blade-like appendage with high attack power, improved balance, and significant boosts to agility, speed, and evasion.

It was a game-changing enhancement.

With it, Gui Ling could now easily solo gold-level bosses.

But… focusing solely on class advancements without leveling up? Qin Feng couldn’t decide whether to laugh or scold.

Gui Ling sheepishly responded:
“You said class advancements are super important, so I saved up experience just for that…”

Qin Feng sighed.
“Fine. Now, focus on reaching Level 20.”

“Yes, Teacher! QwQ!”

Despite her antics, Gui Ling’s rapid progress was impressive, thanks in no small part to the grinding spots Qin Feng had directed her to.

Arriving at the final platinum-level boss of the day, Qin Feng felt a surge of anticipation.

“One more boss and I’ll have enough evolution points to upgrade Greedy Hand.”

His target: a massive, corrupted tree shrouded in poisonous mist.

—-

[Corrosion Ancestor: Ashuraf (Lv19)]

Grade: Platinum
Description: The source of the Corrosive Forest’s toxic miasma.

—-

The toxic air around the tree had prevented officials from approaching. But Qin Feng?

He quickly farmed combo points by slashing nearby corrupted saplings.

Moments later, four crimson blade arcs tore through the miasma and struck the Corrosion Ancestor.

The Corrosion Ancestor appeared.
The Corrosion Ancestor fell.

The poisonous miasma dissipated instantly, and the forest returned to calm.

Wan Ye Weiyu, standing nearby, exhaled deeply in relief. Two and a half days alongside Qin Feng had dulled her amazement at his boss-slaying prowess.

Still, it was a constant reminder of Shadow’s overwhelming strength.

Against this boss, her own team would have struggled for half a day, suffering multiple casualties in the process.

But for Shadow? It was a routine execution.

Qin Feng paid little attention to the reactions around him.

Instead, he looted the corpse, collecting 100 extra evolution points, finally hitting his goal of 3,422 points.

With a faint smile, he whispered:

“Time to upgrade Greedy Hand.”
