GTA Chapter 31

This entry is part 32 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

With 32 evolution points, plus the 3 remaining from before, Qin Feng had a total of 35 points.

“Upgrading **Greedy Hand** requires 210 points now… I’ll leave that for later.”

“This **Temple of Faith** might be dangerous. Let’s evolve **Ghostly Blur** first.”

To increase his survivability, Qin Feng decided to evolve **Ghostly Blur**!

——

[You spent 1+2+3+5 evolution points, 24 points remaining.]

[Ghostly Blur (Golden-tier → Epic-tier): Assassin skill. Passive: Gain a 15% → 75% chance to dodge attacks, and dodging an attack negates all damage.]

——

After reaching Epic-tier, evolving skills further required ten times the usual evolution points.

“It used to cost just 8 points.”

“But since it’s going from Epic to Legendary, it now costs 80 points…”

Qin Feng shook his head and set the skill aside for now.

A 75% dodge rate was already very high.

Next, he continued upgrading **Shadow Slash**, evolving it to Epic-tier:

——

[You spent 13 evolution points, 11 points remaining.]

[Shadow Slash (Diamond-tier → Epic-tier): Dash up to 27 → 30 meters in a direction, entering stealth (duration 9 → 12 seconds), dealing 7 → 9 slashes to all enemies along the path. Cooldown: 12 (8.8) seconds.]

[Slash width: 4.1 → 5 meters. Each slash adds 300 → 500 damage.]

——

With the upgrade from Diamond to Epic-tier, **Shadow Slash**’s bonus damage increased by 200 points.

Plus, the number of slashes went from 7 to 9.

The total damage had practically doubled!

“So powerful…”

In his previous life, Qin Feng had only learned Epic-tier skills several years later.

But in this life…

He was already starting with Epic-tier skills right from the beginning!

Although the skills’ stats were relatively low due to his current level, the most important thing was that they could be infinitely upgraded!

“However, since upgrading from Epic to Legendary costs ten times as many points…”

“It’s more efficient to evolve skills that start at a higher tier.”

Qin Feng calculated.

If a skill started at Epic-tier, the first upgrade to Diamond-tier would cost 1 base point, multiplied by ten for a total of 10 points.

It could quickly evolve to Legendary, Mythical, and even Ancient or Immortal-tier!

But if a skill started at Common-tier, it would need seven evolutions to reach Epic-tier.

At that point, the base cost could be 21 or even 34 points.

Multiply that by ten, and it would cost 210 or even 340 points.

That was far too costly!

“However, the good thing is that no matter what tier of skill I learn, I can evolve it to Epic-tier for a relatively low cost.”

“In other words, all my skills will eventually be at least Epic-tier!”

With 11 evolution points left, Qin Feng decided to evolve his starting skill, **Shadow Cloak**.

——

[You spent 3+5 evolution points, 3 points remaining.]

[Starting skill: Shadow Cloak (Silver → Gold → Platinum): Enter stealth for 16 → 20 → 24 seconds. First attack out of stealth deals 90 → 120 → 150 bonus damage. Cooldown: 26 → 24 → 22 seconds.]

——

The final cooldown was 22 seconds.

However, thanks to Qin Feng’s 35% cooldown reduction stat, the actual cooldown time was reduced to 16.3 seconds.

“This stealth skill still has too long a cooldown.”

“And the bonus damage is a bit low…”

“I’ll definitely need to replace it later.”

After spending all his evolution points, Qin Feng refocused on the maze in front of him.

The **Devout Follower**, which had been crawling ahead, was moving at a relatively quick pace.

As it turned a corner, a massive iron ball suddenly shot out from the wall and slammed into the **Devout Follower**, sending it flying!

**-6666!**

**-99999!**

The first damage was from being hit by the iron ball.

The second damage came when it was smashed against the wall, flattening the follower into an unrecognizable mess…

Qin Feng halted his progress for a moment.

He stood still, waiting for the cooldown on summoning another **Devout Follower**.

“This maze is intricate and filled with dangers.”

“I’ll have to rely on summoned creatures to scout the path.”

Qin Feng sighed.

Although it would cost him a lot of time, this **Temple of Faith** was clearly connected to his **Eye of Judgment**. He had to explore it fully.

Otherwise, who knew what secrets he might miss…

While Qin Feng was exploring the temple…

At the entrance of the temple.

The long-legged mature woman, Gray Rose, cautiously returned with her team, which consisted of two men and three women.

They had prepared themselves to face the two silver-tier mini-bosses, only to find that they were already dead!

Gray Rose, with her black curls and gray robe accentuating her curvaceous figure, frowned when she saw the two corpses.

“They’ve already been killed?”

“At this point, the only one capable of taking out two silver-tier bosses so quickly must be Shadow.”

“Shadow actually came here?”

The teammates behind her were shocked.

As they stared at the corpses of the two **Devout Followers**, they started chatting amongst themselves, all somewhat relieved…

Even though they had come prepared, they were still worried they might die again if they fought.

Only Gray Rose seemed somewhat perplexed as she watched the scene.

“The last time I came here, I thought I saw a figure communicating with the silver bosses…”

“Was that Shadow?”

“Did I see it wrong, or…?”

Last time, Gray Rose had nearly entered the hall.

Her sharp eyes had caught a glimpse of a dark figure seemingly interacting with the two silver-tier bosses…

But upon hearing the bosses roar, she had immediately backed out, only to be killed by their green flames shortly after.

Now, recalling that moment, was that shadow really *Shadow*?

Gray Rose was suspicious!

“I’m pretty sure I didn’t see it wrong.”

“But why didn’t those two silver bosses attack Shadow?”

“Could it be that Shadow has a way to manipulate bosses?”

“Is that how he’s been able to kill so many of them?”

No matter how much Gray Rose speculated, she could never guess the true reason!

As time passed, more and more players teleported to Shell Town, and the town quickly became overcrowded…

Each town could hold a maximum of 10,000 people.

At this point, Shell Town was nearly at full capacity.

This led to a situation where the monsters around the town were no longer enough for everyone to grind on.

There were almost ten times as many players now!

The **Crawlers**, **Polluters**, and other monsters had never expected this many players to arrive in such numbers.

They scattered and hid.

But the players hunted them down relentlessly, turning over every stone to find and kill them…

As a result, even elite teams like Wang Meng’s were finding it hard to level up.

After three hours of effort, they had barely reached level 5.

Lin Liyu’s golden-tier skills weren’t even being fully utilized!

Wang Meng frowned. “It looks like we’ll need to teleport to a less populated town if we want to speed up our leveling.”

Lin Liyu replied, “No problem. But before we leave, we need to meet up with Shadow and make that trade.”

Wang Meng nodded. “Right.”

Meanwhile, Qin Xiaoyou, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, couldn’t help but smile secretly!
