- Online Game : God Level Assasin, I am The Shadow!
- GTA Chapter 40
“If this is the effect, then I do recall something like this,” Qin Feng thought to himself. “In the previous timeline, someone did acquire this skill… I just didn’t know its name. So this is what it’s called.”
After learning the skill, Qin Feng re-entered stealth. Meanwhile, though Gu Yixue was still full of envy, she hadn’t forgotten her duty, keeping a constant watch on Song Fei and his group of fangirls.
With the **Curse of the Blooming Flower** skill now in hand, Qin Feng continued speeding toward the riverside where Song Fei was located.
He was incredibly fast now! Running 100 meters only took him about three seconds, and the distance between him and Song Fei was shrinking rapidly.
At that moment, Song Fei was engaged with a level 7 bronze-tier boss, the **Corrosive Claw**. Just as he was about to land the finishing blow on the boss, a familiar voice suddenly echoed in his ear: “Just a heads-up, you’re about to die.”
“Sh*t!” Song Fei jumped in fright, immediately bolting forward without looking back.
But a **Venomous Throwing Knife** whizzed through the air and lodged itself into the back of his head.
**-2115 (Weak Point Attack)!**
Since Qin Feng’s **Venomous Throwing Knife** was only at silver-tier, its damage wasn’t as high as his epic-tier **Shadow Strike**, but it was more than enough for Song Fei.
The fragile mage only had about 1,000 health in total, and even if his health was five times that amount, he wouldn’t have survived the poisonous attack, especially with the venom’s ongoing damage.
“You’re insane!” Song Fei yelled in frustration as his vision went black, on the verge of a breakdown.
He had been wondering whether Shadow would hunt him down again, hoping there was no bad blood between them. He couldn’t understand why someone would fixate on him like this.
But now it was clear.
He had been killed by Shadow once again, and he was starting to think this guy was seriously deranged.
“Why is he targeting me?”
“Is it because I have more fangirls?”
“Is he jealous of me?”
Song Fei’s mind spiraled into confusion, convinced that Shadow had it out for him for no good reason.
“Is it because some of his girls are my fans? What does that have to do with me?”
In the real world, he wouldn’t have feared such situations. After all, there were laws in place in Da Xia. But in the **Godforsaken Game**… those laws didn’t apply.
“So he’s just a jealous loser who can’t get women, and now he’s blaming me?”
Song Fei sneered, losing any respect he might have had for Shadow.
But no matter how much he rationalized it, he had lost half of his tradeable lifespan yet again. He had originally started with 2,000 days, but after dying twice, he only had about 500 days left. His fangirls had managed to donate an additional 300 days, giving him a total of 800 days of tradeable lifespan.
However…
Song Fei quickly noticed something was wrong with his remaining lifespan.
Initially, he had 860 days, and dying should have reduced it by half, leaving him with 430 days.
But now…
“Why is my lifespan below 400 days? And why is it still dropping?”
Song Fei was stunned as he watched his tradeable lifespan drop from 390 days to 380 days… and then to 370 days… continuing to decrease.
“What the hell is going on?”
“Is this some kind of death penalty for dying too much?”
Soon after, the rest of his fangirls, who had also been killed by Qin Feng, returned to the town square.
In a panic, they cried out, “Brother, something’s wrong! That Shadow guy used a skill, and now there’s a red flower growing on your corpse, like it’s absorbing something!”
Hearing this, Song Fei gasped in horror.
“A flower is growing on my corpse?!”
“And it’s draining my lifespan?!”
Song Fei was on the verge of losing his mind.
He realized that Shadow methods were far more vicious than he had ever imagined.
…
Back at the riverside, where Song Fei and his fangirls had died, Qin Feng appeared from stealth.
Song Fei and over thirty of his fangirls lay dead, their corpses scattered across the ground. Qin Feng’s **Slaughterer** debuff had now stacked to four levels after killing so many people in one go.
At **Slaughterer** level four, the penalty for dying was a 96.875% loss of your current lifespan—essentially dropping all of it.
For most players, this was a painful debuff to carry. But for Qin Feng, it didn’t matter at all. Thanks to his **Ghostfire Bell**, he would lose no lifespan upon death, fully negating the negative effects of the debuff.
The riverside was littered with corpses, and atop each body, a blood-red flower had bloomed.
“The health of these flowers seems to be based on the level of the target’s corpse,” Qin Feng observed.
“The flower on Song Fei’s body has 3,600 health, and he’s level six. The flowers on the other girls’ bodies… 1,600 health for level 4, and 2,500 for level 5. It’s probably tied to their levels squared.”
For now, it would be difficult for other players to destroy the flowers. But as players’ damage output increased in the future, they would likely be able to destroy them more easily.
Still, as Qin Feng had always said, if he killed everyone, no one would be around to destroy the flowers.
Over thirty blood-red flowers were now drawing in the tradeable lifespan of the dead players, leaving Qin Feng somewhat astonished.
“I just gained another 1,000 days of lifespan. These people really killed a lot of monsters.”
All of this was witnessed by Gu Yixue, who was still watching from her bird’s-eye view.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” she exclaimed.
“This is Shadow strength? He wiped out Song Fei’s entire group, and they couldn’t even fight back!”
“And what’s with those red flowers on their bodies? They look so eerie…”
Gu Yixue felt a slight shiver under her white priest robe, her petite body trembling.
This guy was insanely powerful.
Song Fei had seriously messed with the wrong person!
…
“Damn it, I’m logging off!”
Meanwhile, Song Fei had initially planned to grind his way to level 10, surpass Shadow. But after being killed by Shadow three times in a row, he had lost all of his tradeable lifespan!
When he was killed again, he saw that the **Death Flower** was draining his lifespan. In just a minute, his tradeable lifespan was completely gone, and even his non-tradeable lifespan was dwindling.
“If I keep getting killed, I’m going to run out of lifespan entirely…”
Song Fei finally grasped the gravity of the situation.
