GTA Chapter 83

This entry is part 84 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

——

[You have consumed 33 evolution points. Remaining points: 155.]

[*From the Depths of Darkness* (Emerald → Diamond → Epic → Legendary): Passively gain +1 → 1 → 1 → 2 Stealth Level, and every 5 → 4 → 4 → 3 seconds in stealth, increase Stealth Level by 1, up to +3 → 3 → 4 → 5 Stealth Levels. Required Level: 14.]

[New Legendary Effect: For each Stealth Level, gain 200 points of Hidden Strike damage when breaking stealth.]

——

When this skill evolved to Legendary, Qin Feng was momentarily dumbfounded.

“Up to 7 levels of stealth?”

“This is insane!”

“Adding the 2 stealth levels from my passive, plus the 1 level from my stealth skill, I can reach a total of 8 stealth levels!”

Under normal circumstances, even without considering combat strength, an assassin would need to be around level 30 just to barely reach 8 stealth levels.

But now, for Qin Feng…

This single skill, *From the Depths of Darkness*, granted up to 5 stealth levels!

“Every 3 seconds, I gain one level, which means after 9 seconds in stealth, I’ll reach the maximum level.”

“At that point, with 8 stealth levels, I’ll deal an additional 1,600 points of Hidden Strike damage when I break stealth.”

The newly added Legendary effect was also incredibly powerful.

Keep in mind, Qin Feng currently had two stealth skills.

His Epic-level *Phantom Shadow* added 500 points of Hidden Strike damage.

His Epic-level *Silent Cloak* added 800 points of Hidden Strike damage.

The Hidden Strike bonus from *From the Depths of Darkness* could stack with both of these skills.

The Hidden Strike damage from *Phantom Shadow* would go from 500 to 2,100 points.

The Hidden Strike damage from *Silent Cloak* would go from 800 to 2,400 points!

“My damage just spiked again.”

“And now that I’ve reached level 15, after taking care of Qian Shishi in the Magic City, I can consider my next job advancement.”

The first job advancement had already significantly enhanced the three passive abilities of Qin Feng’s *Shadow* class.

The second job advancement… how much would it improve his abilities?

Even Qin Feng didn’t know the answer to that.

After all, in his previous life, he had never encountered the *Shadow* class.

Following the coordinates provided by Qin Feng, Wang Meng and four other official male players made their way to the northern gate ruins!

As they approached, they saw piles of monster corpses scattered throughout the ruins, leaving them all in awe.

“No wonder he’s the *Shadow* master—these monsters would take us several minutes to kill.”

“Exactly. Plus, these monsters are smart enough to run if they’re losing!”

“But *Shadow* doesn’t have that problem. After all, he kills in a single hit.”

“His leveling speed is just insane… we haven’t even hit level 11, and he’s already at level 15.”

“Still, with him being this strong, why did he even call us here?”

“Stop complaining. Just follow his lead.”

Wang Meng led the group, which included two members from his own team—a sharpshooter and a mid-aged card mage.

The other two were clerics from Director Dai’s group, brought along as insurance. While neither had hidden professions, their levels, gear, and skills were excellent, making them top players in the official game.

One of the clerics was a towering figure, nearly 1.9 meters tall.

Though he wielded a staff, his build was more imposing than Wang Meng’s.

His codename was *Steady as an Old Dog*.

“Captain Wang, are we at the location? I don’t see *Shadow* anywhere,” *Steady as an Old Dog* asked in his deep voice.

Wang Meng motioned for him to be patient and opened a private chat with Qin Feng.

Soon, he raised his head and pointed northwest. “We’re headed to that spire on the hill. That’s our destination.”

*Steady as an Old Dog* took a deep breath. “That spire is at least three kilometers away! I heard the monsters outside the city are fierce. Can we really make it there?”

Wang Meng clapped him on the shoulder. “You’re built like a tank. Why are you the most nervous? Relax, *Shadow* already cleared out all the monsters on the path!”

The group moved forward.

*Steady as an Old Dog* took the rear, nervously glancing around as they progressed, his face serious and cautious.

Wang Meng didn’t mind.

As they traveled, they encountered several twisted monster corpses scattered throughout the thorny forest.

These monsters were all level 15 or higher!

In some areas, there were even dozens of corpses piled together!

Wang Meng and the others couldn’t help but feel a chill down their spines.

If it had been them wandering through the thorny forest, the monsters would have devoured them without mercy…

But as they continued, they didn’t encounter a single living monster!

This left Wang Meng and his team in awe.

Eventually, they reached the summit of the small hill and found the ancient spire.

——

[*Player “Shadow” requests to join the party!*]

——

Wang Meng received a system prompt.

He was surprised.

“Isn’t *Shadow* known for being a lone wolf? Why join a party?”

After accepting the request, Qin Feng’s avatar, with his face hidden, appeared on the party roster.

Qin Feng spoke in the party chat: “The NPC we’re about to meet is quite cunning. The stronger I appear, the more expensive the goods he sells… So, for now, I’ll pretend to be average, and you guys will take care of defeating the boss. Just focus on taking down a single Gold-tier boss, and you’ll be able to buy some great stuff from him. You won’t be disappointed.”

Hearing this, Wang Meng and the others grew tense.

“No wonder he joined the party.”

“Turns out, we need to downplay his strength in front of the NPC…”

“But, an NPC?”

“We haven’t encountered any NPCs in this game yet. What do they even look like?”

“Doesn’t matter. Just follow the plan and kill the boss!”

Everyone was pumped up and ready for action.

Except for *Steady as an Old Dog*, who cautiously asked, “Hold on, boss… What skills does the boss have? Should I dodge anything? What if the boss charges at me?”

Qin Feng: “The boss is a ranged caster and won’t move. It has a fire-breathing skill—when it breathes fire, get close and move clockwise around it to avoid the flames. There’s also a black oil attack you need to dodge, but the other skills will focus on the main tank. I’ll tell Wang Meng how to handle it.”

*Steady as an Old Dog* asked again, “And how long will the fight take? I need to make sure I manage my mana. Also, what if someone dies?”

Qin Feng: “…”

Wang Meng privately messaged Qin Feng, a bit embarrassed: “Sorry about that, boss. This guy, despite his size, has had some bad experiences during raids where two of his teammates died unexpectedly. Ever since then, he’s been overly cautious about everything…”

Qin Feng replied, “It’s fine. I understand.”

After all, in the *Forsaken Game*, you couldn’t be too careful, even for the most seasoned players.

Qin Feng then explained the entire strategy for defeating the Gold-tier boss in the party chat.

Once he finished, Wang Meng and his group reached the base of the spire.

The *Tower of Divine Authority*.

As Wang Meng arrived, he finally saw Qin Feng standing at the entrance, shrouded in the semi-transparent form granted by his Emerald-tier *Blackflame Gift Armor*.

With a Platinum-tier assassin’s dagger in hand, Qin Feng’s figure radiated an aura of cold menace.

Seeing this, *Steady as an Old Dog* felt a chill run down his spine.

He had heard about *Shadow* countless times, but this was the first time he had actually laid eyes on him.
