MWM Chapter 113

This entry is part 114 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Oh, darling, look! I discovered a really interesting spell. It’s absolutely amazing!”

In the evening, in the bedroom, Wanda put down the magic book she was reading, suddenly stood up from the bed, and closed her eyes to silently recite an incantation.

Moments later, her red pajamas began to change from top to bottom, gradually transforming into a standard black silk flight attendant uniform.

“A variant of the Transfiguration spell, *Vestimentum Velox*!”

Lying on the bed, Leo immediately recognized the spell Wanda had used.

Since he had typed out all the spellbooks at home himself, he was familiar with every spell in them.

The spell Wanda had just used was a quick-change spell, an application derived from Transfiguration, allowing the user to rapidly change their clothes into any desired form.

However, depending on a wizard’s proficiency with the spell, the style and duration of the transformation could be limited.

For example, if someone isn’t skilled with this spell, the transformation might quickly revert, or the clothes might not turn out as imagined, especially if the design is too complex.

Transfiguration is a major category in the study of magic, and at Hogwarts, it’s taught as a standalone subject because its principles can be extended to many other types of magic, with numerous subcategories.

Transforming inanimate objects into other inanimate objects, such as turning water into wine or a matchstick into a needle.

Transforming inanimate objects into living things, like turning a table into a pig or a teapot into a turtle.

Transforming living things into inanimate objects, such as turning a mouse into a snuffbox or an owl into a telescope.

Transforming one living thing into another living thing, like turning a guinea fowl into a guinea pig or a human into a cockroach.

There’s also the most challenging Transfiguration spell that appears in the Ordinary Wizarding Levels (OWLs) exams, the Vanishing Spell, which makes objects and living beings disappear completely.

Therefore, if someone masters Transfiguration, it can essentially become a very powerful offensive magic.

However, all Transfiguration spells must adhere to one fundamental law: Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration.

This law outlines five principal exceptions to what can be transformed.

First, food cannot be created out of thin air, nor can other items be transfigured into food, as consuming such food would lead to indigestion or cause the transformation to reverse. Leo noted that this could be an effective method of assassination.

Second, living beings cannot be permanently transfigured into non-living objects, just as a table turned into a pig cannot stay a pig forever; it will revert once the magic wears off. The duration depends on the wizard’s skill level.

Third, Transfiguration cannot create magical items, or more accurately, it cannot produce items with inherent energy, whether magical or electrical.

Fourth, Transfiguration cannot change the quantity of an object. You cannot turn one table into two long tables or three desks.

Fifth, Transfiguration cannot create something from nothing. Spells like the Serpensortia, which summons a snake, or the Avis, which summons birds, are not creating things out of nothing but are rather summoning temporary physical projections or transforming something hidden in the caster’s hand.

For example, if a small eraser was hidden in the hand, it could be transfigured into a flower or a bird using such spells.

Of course, these limitations apply to normal wizards, those who cast spells by converting external energy into magical power through their wizarding bloodline, like Leo.

But it seems these restrictions don’t apply as much to Wanda.

Wanda’s magic isn’t powered by ordinary magical energy; it’s fueled by chaos magic, one of the three ancient powers capable of altering reality, and one of the oldest forces in the universe.

Earlier in the day, Leo had watched Wanda, while practicing Transfiguration, turn her slippers into two little white rabbits, which were still in a box eating lettuce leaves.

He felt that if Wanda didn’t cast a Reversal Spell, those slippers might truly remain rabbits and live out their lives.

“I like this spell too because I love uniforms!”

Leo pulled Wanda, now dressed as a flight attendant, into his arms.

“Ring, ring! Ring, ring!”

Just as Leo was about to move forward, the phone on the table suddenly rang, forcing him to stop.

He knew that when this phone rang, it was something important.

“Boss, a group of highly skilled individuals has infiltrated the company building. Their target seems to be the scientists in the lab dormitory.”

“These guys really know how to pick their timing. I understand. Keep an eye on them but don’t take any action yet—I’ll be there right away.”

Leo’s good mood was spoiled by the phone call.

“What’s wrong, darling?” Wanda asked, a little puzzled.

Leo smiled:

“It’s nothing. There’s a situation at the company lab that I need to check on. I’ll be back in twenty minutes.”

He got out of bed, retrieved the Elder Wand from his mission space, and waved it, causing his clothes from the hanger to fly toward him and quickly dress him.

“Apparate!”

With a single word, Leo’s figure disappeared from the bedroom.

After Leo left, Wanda wrapped herself in the blanket, got out of bed, and quickly opened the laptop on the desk, typing a few keywords into Google.

“What are the most popular uniform types among husband?”

In the monitoring room of Li Corporation’s building, Xiao Liu hung up the phone and focused his attention on the surveillance screens.

However, before long, a figure suddenly appeared behind him. Acting on instinct, he immediately swung around with an elbow strike, but the person behind him easily blocked the attack.

“Not bad. It seems being a secretary hasn’t made you neglect your training.”

A familiar voice rang out, causing Xiao Liu’s eyes to widen.

“B-boss… weren’t you at home? How… how did you get here so quickly?”

Having been with the boss for a long time, Xiao Liu thought he had seen it all. He hadn’t been too surprised before when his boss used shadow clones, spewed fire, or spat water.

But this time, the distance was so far, and right after he’d hung up the phone, the boss appeared behind him so quickly—it really gave him a shock.

“It’s a new ability. You can think of it as teleportation. Now, what’s the situation?”

Seeing that Xiao Liu was startled, Leo smiled and offered a brief explanation.

After calming himself, Xiao Liu began to report seriously:

“This group entered the building five minutes ago. They’re moving quickly and seem very professional. If it weren’t for the advanced surveillance equipment provided by Mr. Stark, we might not have detected them.

Once inside, they headed straight for the lab dormitory building, so I’m guessing their target is the scientists staying there.”
