- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 12
“The Uchiha clan’s Great Fireball Jutsu and Konoha’s Shadow Clone Jutsu, those are indeed very enticing!”
Closing the panel, Leo began to ponder.
Honestly, his initial goal was simply to rescue Dr. Smith. After all, Hydra was a vast and troublesome organization to provoke. But those two ninjutsu were incredibly tempting.
Though the Great Fireball Jutsu seemed ineffective in the storyline, Leo believed that was just for plot purposes and didn’t mean the technique was weak.
As the most renowned Fire Release ninjutsu of the Uchiha clan, the Great Fireball Jutsu boasted a large attack range, strong destructive power, and low chakra consumption. Moreover, it was only a C-rank technique, requiring just six hand seals.
Even a powerful ninja like Itachi would use the Great Fireball Jutsu during battles.
Compared to the Fireball Jutsu he knew, they were on completely different levels. His Fireball Jutsu merely fired a fist-sized fireball with moderate speed and power, with its only slight advantage being its range.
In contrast, the Great Fireball Jutsu lived up to its name, producing a fireball several times larger than a person, capable of destroying a house in one shot if mastered.
As for the Shadow Clone Jutsu, it needed no further explanation. It was Naruto’s signature technique, a B-rank ninjutsu developed by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju.
Unlike the E-rank Clone Jutsu, which created mere illusions, the Shadow Clone Jutsu produced real, tangible clones whose experiences and memories returned to the user upon dispelling.
Mastering this technique would significantly increase his survival chances in the Marvel world. He could send shadow clones to handle dangerous tasks.
“But is it worth taking this risk?”
After some thought, Leo hesitated again.
With his current strength, infiltrating the Hydra base to rescue Dr. Smith wouldn’t be too difficult. However, killing Baron Strucker and destroying the Hydra base would not be so easy.
If he couldn’t travel to the Naruto world, he would undoubtedly risk everything to complete the missions and acquire the ninjutsu. But now, as long as he settled in New York, he could spend six months in the Naruto world, with potential for more missions later.
And with access to the Naruto world, he would naturally have opportunities to obtain these ninjutsu.
“Slow steps lead to slow progress. If I don’t dare to take risks, how can I become stronger?”
Gritting his teeth, Leo made his decision—he would complete all three side quests.
Both the Marvel and Naruto worlds were far from peaceful and stable. Constantly playing it safe without taking risks would lead to regret when facing insurmountable dangers.
As someone who had constantly sought to surpass himself through life-and-death combat, Leo was not lacking in adventurous spirit.
Obtaining new ninjutsu and becoming stronger sooner would allow him to gain greater benefits in events within this world. In turn, this would make him stronger when he returned to the Naruto world, providing more choices.
This could create a positive cycle.
Of course, everything had to be done in moderation. Taking risks without any chance of success would be foolish.
“Xiao Liu, inform Uncle Li to stop the investigation and call back the team.”
With a plan in mind, Leo stood up and pressed the button on his desk.
Since the panel had confirmed Hydra’s involvement in Dr. Smith’s abduction, there was no need to waste time.
In Sokovia, many officials and wealthy individuals had connections to Hydra. Investigating could easily alert them.
Over the past three years, besides pursuing Wanda, restoring his own strength, and expanding his company, Leo had also kept tabs on Hydra.
Hydra’s ability to remain hidden wasn’t due to their invincibility but because everyone believed the organization had been eradicated by Captain America during World War II.
Most of their public identities were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, government officials, or wealthy businesspeople.
For example, the base in the mountains outside Sokovia was officially a military research facility of the Sokovian government, linked to the Sokovian rebellion and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s peacekeeping forces.
However, Leo always knew of Hydra’s existence and that the base was a Hydra facility. By keeping a close watch, he had discovered many clues.
…
Meanwhile, inside the Hydra base in the mountains outside Sokovia.
A burly Hydra agent was reporting to Baron Strucker, who wore a monocle and a black leather coat.
“Sir, through hypnotic interrogation, we have obtained the origin and formula of the Power Pills from Dr. Smith.”
“Let’s hear it.”
Baron Strucker turned around, showing a hint of interest.
The burly Hydra agent bowed slightly:
“According to Dr. Smith, the Power Pills were not his original creation. They were developed based on a substance called the strengthening paste provided by Leo, the owner of Li Industries. The strengthening effects of this paste are far superior to those of the Power Pills.”
“Interesting. Where did Leo get this strengthening paste, and does he have more?”
Baron Strucker’s interest deepened.
The burly Hydra agent shook his head:
“The source is unclear. Dr. Smith said he ran out of samples and couldn’t obtain more from Leo despite repeated requests.”
After glancing at Baron Strucker, the agent cautiously suggested:
“Sir, should I lead a team to capture Leo?”
“No need for now. Detain Dr. Smith and relay the information to Garrett. Our current agreement with him only involves Dr. Smith and the Power Pill formula. We’ll see about the rest later.”
Baron Strucker dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand.
John Garrett, a high-ranking Hydra member and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, was enthusiastic about body modification experiments.
Upon learning about the long-term strengthening effects of the Power Pills, he traded intelligence on enhanced individuals for Dr. Smith’s abduction.
Strucker himself had no interest in body enhancements but was focused on research and development of special abilities. Thus, he agreed to the trade, and the newfound information about the strengthening paste and Leo fell outside the current deal’s scope.
Moreover, kidnapping a scientist and a prominent Sokovian businessman were vastly different in terms of impact and difficulty.
Unless Garrett was willing to pay extra, Strucker saw no reason to complicate matters further.
