- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 162
“Last night, he drank two hundred bottles by himself, knocked all of us out, and finished all the booze we brought. I’ve never seen such an impressive guy.
But this guy always likes to joke around, saying he’s some kind of god of thunder, punished by Odin and thrown here, blah blah blah. Still, he does have a great physique and is quite strong!”
A wild-looking woman with blue hair, covered in piercings on her nose and ears, said to Leo.
The burly men nearby burst into laughter upon hearing this.
“It must be Thor!”
Leo was pretty sure it was Thor, so he walked over to the still-sleeping Thor, squatted down, and patted his face:
“Hey, Mr. Thor, Mr. Thor!”
“No… no, it’s all my fault, Father, it’s all my fault that you’re dead, Mother, Loki…”
After being patted twice by Leo, Thor not only didn’t wake up but kept mumbling in his sleep, a tear sliding down the corner of his eye.
“It looks like Loki has been here.”
Thor, the first son of Odin, the All-Father of Asgard, is around fifteen hundred years old. After he grew up, Odin bestowed upon him the exclusive weapon of Asgard’s executioner—Mjölnir.
Since then, he led Asgard’s armies to numerous victories, gaining the recognition of most Asgardians thanks to the powerful Mjölnir.
However, just a few days ago, during his coronation as King of Asgard, a few Frost Giants broke into Asgard’s treasure vault, disrupting the ceremony.
Prideful as he was, Thor, along with his best friends, the Warriors Three, the first female warrior of Asgard, and his brother Loki, barged into the Frost Giants’ realm, Jotunheim.
They ended up being ambushed by the Frost Giants’ leader and his army, nearly dying in the process, only to be saved by Odin himself.
Odin, seeing that Thor only knew how to fight recklessly without understanding the value of peace or the responsibilities of a king, sealed his godly powers, enchanted Mjölnir with a spell, and cast Thor down to Earth for training.
And the mastermind behind this whole scheme was none other than Loki, Odin’s adopted son, who had Frost Giant blood running through his veins.
Loki, jealous of his brother Thor inheriting the throne and feeling that Odin favored Thor, colluded with the Frost Giants’ leader to orchestrate this plot, intending to banish Thor to Earth.
During this time, Loki also learned that he wasn’t Odin’s biological son. Taking advantage of Odin entering his slumber, Loki took over the throne and came to Earth to tell Thor that Odin had died due to the war with Jotunheim and his disappointment in Thor.
To prevent a war with Jotunheim, Thor was permanently banished to Earth, and even the queen had lost all hope in him, not wishing to see him again.
“Wake up!”
Taking out his wand, Leo aimed at Thor’s forehead and cast a Waking Spell.
The Waking Spell, a spell to forcibly wake someone from sleep, is usually used to counter unconsciousness spells but can also be used to wake up those who love to sleep in.
Thor, who was still in his dreams, immediately opened his eyes when hit by the spell.
“Hello, Mr. Thor!”
Leo extended his right hand to Thor in a friendly manner.
Thor, a bit bewildered, raised his right hand and shook Leo’s:
“Who are you? I don’t think I know you!”
“My name is Leo Chen, but you can call me Leo. I heard in town about a man named Thor Odinson who claims to be the God of Thunder from Asgard, so I came to check it out.”
Leo replied with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Thor stood up from the ground, his tone a bit resigned:
“Alright, I know you don’t believe me, and I know it’s hard to convince you. After all, I’ve lost my divine power and am now just like you mortals.”
As he spoke, his expression turned sorrowful again:
“I caused my father’s death and will be stuck here forever… Oh… I want a drink. Dick, can you get me a bottle of booze?”
Thor asked a bearded man.
The bearded man shrugged:
“All the booze was finished by you last night!”
“Then forget it; I’ll just go back to sleep.”
Hearing there was no more alcohol, Thor lay back down again.
“Has he already been beaten into total despair by Loki?”
Looking at Thor, Leo felt like he was seeing the future Thor, who had lost all faith in life and drowned his sorrows in alcohol—a fat Thor.
Clearly, Thor had completely bought into Loki’s fabricated lies.
“I believe you are the God of Thunder, Thor!”
Leo said directly, looking at Thor.
Thor turned over, burying his face in the dirt:
“I know you’re just making fun of me, like the rest of them.”
“No, I’m not joking, because I know that hammer and can feel the immense power it contains. It should be your weapon, Mjölnir, the hammer of the God of Thunder!”
Leo pointed to Mjölnir lying nearby.
Upon hearing this, Thor immediately turned over:
“You really believe I’m the God of Thunder?”
“Yes, if you don’t mind, how about we go into town for a drink? It’s on me.”
Leo once again extended his right hand to Thor.
Thor glanced at his hammer, grabbed Leo’s hand, and stood up.
…
Inside a restaurant in Old Bridge Town, Thor gulped down a large mug of beer and then looked somewhat surprised at Leo:
“So, you’re a wizard. I thought there were no wizards left in Midgard.”
The last time he had come to Earth was when? It seemed to be back when he had just come of age, over a thousand years ago.
Leo nodded and, without blinking, lied:
“Yes, I was just passing by nearby the day before yesterday when I suddenly sensed a powerful force here, so I came to check it out.”
Thor, despite being the God of Thunder and living for over fifteen hundred years, had most of his points allocated to muscles and drinking capacity, with very little in the way of intelligence, especially when it came to detecting lies.
He had been tricked by his brother Loki countless times since childhood, yet he still fell for it every time.
So, this casually thrown-together lie from Leo, which wasn’t even particularly convincing, was immediately believed by Thor.
“What you sensed was the energy fluctuation when the Bifrost was activated. Do you know the Bifrost? It’s one of Asgard’s most powerful weapons; it can send our armies anywhere in the universe and has immense destructive power. Once…”
“Thor, can you tell me why you were banished to Earth?”
Leo interrupted Thor’s rambling and went straight to the point. He needed to quickly see if Thor could lift his hammer. If not, he would need to make preparations to deal with the Destroyer and Loki in advance.
Thor, having finally found someone willing to believe him and not think of him as a fool, drunk, or madman, naturally didn’t hold back and immediately began pouring out his grievances.
After listening to his story, Leo said seriously:
“Thor, I don’t think it’s entirely your fault; you might have been set up. I’m willing to help you reclaim Mjölnir and return to Asgard!”
The kind-hearted, helpful wizard of Midgard was officially on the scene.
