- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 169
“Father, I don’t want to be the King of Jotunheim. I am your son. Everything I have done was for you, for everyone!”
Loki gritted his teeth as he looked at Odin, his eyes slowly reddening, with tears faintly welling up.
Odin sighed at this sight, then raised his arm and gestured toward Loki:
“As Odin, All-Father, King of Asgard, I hereby seal all your divine powers and magic. You are banished until you fully understand the responsibilities that come with who you are.
Loki, you and Thor were both born to be kings. Do not disappoint me again!”
As Odin finished speaking, Loki’s Asgardian armor vanished in an instant, and he was sucked into the transport hall, disappearing without a trace.
“Father, I…”
Thor began to speak, but Odin interrupted him:
“Thor, you have made some progress, but you are still not ready to inherit the throne.”
Before Thor could argue, Odin waved his hand, and Thor was also pulled into the transport hall, disappearing from sight.
“When you are able to lift Mjölnir again, that will be the time to claim the throne!”
“I fear that by then, he might not even want the throne anymore.”
Seeing Odin send Thor back to Earth, Leo quietly muttered to himself.
After spending enough time on Earth, Thor would come to realize how often disasters strike there. And when he does finally lift Mjölnir again, it would signify a change in his heart. Even without Jane’s presence, it’s highly likely he’d choose to stay on Earth as a superhero to protect humanity.
After sending away his two disappointing sons, Odin turned his attention back to Leo and Tony.
“You two have done well—better than my two useless sons. If there’s anything you desire, feel free to ask, and I will do my best to fulfill it as a token of gratitude for helping Asgard.”
“I’m good. I only came because Leo asked me to help.”
Tony shrugged, declining Odin’s offer of a reward.
He was a highly confident and somewhat proud individual. While Odin appeared outwardly friendly, Tony didn’t care much for his condescending demeanor, which he found less likable than Thor’s.
Thor might seem a bit foolish, but he had a genuine and straightforward heart. Odin, on the other hand, while appearing kind, seemed quite cunning underneath.
Besides, Tony had come to help Leo, repaying a life debt owed to him.
Leo, on the other hand, was more straightforward. He smiled and said:
“I heard that Asgard has a metal called Uru. If possible, Your Majesty Odin, could you gift me some to use in crafting magical items? If not, that’s fine too.”
As someone who once led Asgard in conquering the Nine Realms, even though Odin had mellowed with age, it didn’t mean he was a soft-hearted person.
Leo knew this very well. Even Odin’s earlier actions might have been meant to intimidate.
It was said that Odin once collected the Infinity Stones and even had the Dwarf King forge an Infinity Gauntlet, which he kept in the treasure vault, only abandoning the pursuit because he chose not to sacrifice the person he loved most for the Soul Stone.
So, Leo wouldn’t foolishly ask for treasures like the Casket of Ancient Winters or the Eternal Flame. That would be a pointless endeavor.
Instead, asking for a bit of Uru metal, which was almost as valuable as Vibranium, seemed like a better idea. It could be used in the next visit to the cultivation world to craft a top-tier flying sword, possibly in combination with the Kusanagi Sword.
Even if Odin was stingy and refused, it wouldn’t matter. The side quest was complete, so getting the metal would be a pleasant surprise; if not, he could still figure out a way to obtain Vibranium.
“Very well. I will have some Uru metal retrieved from the treasure vault for you. However, Asgard is not a place for mortals to stay for long, so I won’t keep you here as guests. Heimdall will safely return you both to Midgard.”
Odin nodded, not refusing. While Uru metal was precious, giving away a portion was no big deal.
…
Fifteen miles northwest of the crater where Mjölnir had fallen in New Mexico.
A rainbow descended from the sky, and Leo and Tony were returned to Earth via the Bifrost by Heimdall.
“Today has truly been an eye-opener. I’ve got a lot of great ideas that I need to test out right away. Leo, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading back now!”
Tony, still marveling, bid farewell to Leo.
Passing through the Bifrost to Asgard and witnessing their advanced technology and the battle with the Frost Giants had filled his mind with inspiration.
He now had many new ideas for upgrading his armor.
“Go ahead. Here’s a piece of Uru metal for you. It might help with your new armor.”
Leo nodded and took out a piece of Uru metal from his small pouch, handing it to Tony.
Odin had given him quite a bit of Uru metal, and giving some to Tony could help him improve his armor, which might come in handy in the future.
“Is this stuff really as good as you say?”
Tony took the piece of Uru metal, a hint of skepticism in his eyes.
As a weapons manufacturing expert, he had encountered all sorts of metals. Not just ordinary metals but also various alloys he had created, each with different properties.
So he wasn’t particularly interested in the Uru metal that Leo had requested. He believed his alloys could be better than any naturally occurring metal.
“Just take it back and study it; you’ll see.”
Leo didn’t bother explaining further because there was no need. Once Tony did some research, he would understand the value of Uru metal.
In this world, there were two metals Leo knew to be the most valuable. One was Vibranium, which Wakanda had used to develop technology far ahead of the rest of the world. Captain America’s shield was primarily made of Vibranium, renowned for its durability.
The other was Asgardian Uru metal, which was as tough as Vibranium but also had excellent enchantment capabilities—or more accurately, a high compatibility with energy.
After Tony flew off, Leo didn’t head straight back to Old Bridge Town. Instead, he went to the crater where Mjölnir had fallen.
As expected, just as he had anticipated, Thor and Loki, now powerless, were both there. And it was clear they weren’t getting along well, exchanging insults and barbs.
“You’re a natural-born troublemaker!”
“You’re a natural-born idiot!”
“You’re not my brother!”
“You’re not my brother, either!”
“It looks like you two brothers are getting along quite well.”
Leo quipped as he approached.
Seeing Leo, Thor’s mood visibly brightened. He smiled and came over to give Leo a hug.
“Leo, you’re just in time. Could you help us get back to town?”
Meanwhile, Loki’s expression changed noticeably. He subtly shifted his position to hide behind Thor.
The memory of being slammed 128 times by Leo in Asgard was still fresh. Now, with his divine powers and magic sealed, Loki felt even less confident facing Leo.
