MWM Chapter 260

This entry is part 261 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Dual cultivation? What’s that?”

Wanda picked up a cookie sandwich and took a bite, a puzzled look crossing her face. She hadn’t eaten since she woke up, and her stomach was starting to rumble.

“Well…”

Leo thought for a moment before explaining:

“You can think of it as a magical practice that makes your body healthier. For example, it will make your skin smoother and more elastic, your figure more perfect, you won’t have to worry about gaining weight or getting pimples, and it can significantly delay aging, keeping you looking younger.”

“Is there really such a magical practice?”

Wanda’s eyes lit up at his words.

In the Marvel world, sorcerers typically draw on external powers to cast spells, so no matter how powerful they are, their bodies still age and die according to the natural rules of their species.

Even the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, had to tap into the Dark Dimension’s power from Dormammu to extend her life.

Wanda was in the same boat.

Although she borrowed the Chaos Magic of the ancient god Chthon, without practicing the spells from the Darkhold to advance into her full potential as the Scarlet Witch, her body was still that of an ordinary human.

This meant she had the same concerns as any other woman: gaining weight if she ate too much, breaking out in acne, and fearing aging and the loss of beauty.

“Of course, as long as we practice dual cultivation regularly, all of this is possible.”

Leo nodded confidently.

Although the Xuanyin Sect was considered a dark or demonic sect, known for draining others to quickly increase their own cultivation, the yin-yang dual cultivation method they practiced wasn’t inherently evil.

At its core, it followed the proper Dao, the path of yin and yang.

However, most of the Xuanyin Sect only took without giving, stopping just before they drained their partner completely. Then, after their partner recovered, they would continue the process, warping the yin-yang Dao into a selfish and inhumane demonic practice.

In ancient times, there were righteous sects that practiced this same Dao method, but they disappeared over time for various reasons.

It was said that the founder of the Xuanyin Sect stumbled upon this ancient inheritance, but due to his corrupt nature, he misunderstood the teachings and twisted them into something demonic.

Since Leo was already at the Golden Core stage, the benefits of this practice might not be very noticeable for him.

But for Wanda, it was incredibly beneficial. Through dual cultivation, Leo would transmit his true energy into Wanda’s body, circulating through her meridians and dantian, and returning to him.

During this process, Wanda’s body would be refined by the true energy, achieving a transformation from the inside out.

The more they practiced, and the higher Leo’s cultivation level grew, the more noticeable the effects would be in the future.

If Leo reached the Heavenly Immortal stage and continued to practice dual cultivation with Wanda, refining her body with his true energy, she wouldn’t just live a long life—youthful immortality for a thousand years or more would be entirely possible.

But this was only possible because it was Leo. A normal Xuanyin Sect cultivator wouldn’t even consider doing something like this.

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s start right now!”

Hearing Leo’s confirmation, Wanda couldn’t wait any longer.

But Leo hesitated:

“Are you sure you want to start right now?”

After not seeing her for four years, he certainly wasn’t opposed to the idea. But considering they had already spent all of last night together, and she had just woken up, he wondered if it might be a bit too soon.

“Didn’t you say it has to be done regularly to have an effect? Is there some kind of time or place restriction?”

Wanda tilted her head, confused.

She still didn’t fully understand what dual cultivation entailed, thinking it was just some kind of magical practice they would do together.

“There aren’t any restrictions like that, but if you want to start, it’s probably best to do it in the bedroom.”

“The bedroom?”

Wanda swallowed nervously, a sudden uneasy feeling creeping up on her.

……

Twelve hours later, at 2:00 a.m., a loud cry echoed throughout the neighborhood.

The sound was so loud that it woke many residents, causing lights to flick on in several houses.

At that moment, a strong, young security guard patrolling the area immediately alerted the man leading the patrol, Li San:

“Brother San, the noise came from the boss’s building. Could he be in danger?”

“No worries, keep patrolling. The boss is fine.”

Li San raised his hand and smacked the young guard on the back of the head before asking:

“Little Locke, how old are you this year?”

“I’m eighteen,” the young man replied, rubbing the back of his head, confused.

The boss’s wife had screamed so loudly just now, so why was Brother San so sure there was no danger without even checking?

“Eighteen, huh? That’s old enough. Tomorrow night, you’ll take the night shift with me at the bar. Protecting the boss isn’t just about strength—you need experience too. You’re lacking in certain areas of knowledge, which could affect your judgment when it comes to protecting the boss. We need to work on that.”

“Yes, Brother San.”

The young man seemed to understand, albeit vaguely.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Wanda pulled the blanket over her head, speaking in a near-crying voice:

“What just happened? That was so embarrassing! They’re definitely going to laugh at me tomorrow. And… husband, are you sure this really works like you said?”

“Don’t worry. If anyone laughs at you tomorrow, I’ll just erase that part of their memory. And trust me, this is a magical practice. Don’t you feel more refreshed now, not tired at all?

Think about last night, and compare it to tonight. Don’t you feel a huge difference?

Also, you can get up and look in the mirror. Your skin must be in much better condition now than it was this morning.”

Leo gently patted Wanda’s head through the blanket, smiling.

The difference between the two of them was vast—he was at the Golden Core stage, while Wanda was still a normal human. So, the effects of the practice were immediate and obvious.

Hearing Leo’s reassurance, Wanda paused to feel her body. Sure enough, she felt completely energized, both physically and mentally, a stark contrast to the exhaustion she felt the previous night.

Could the effects really be this remarkable?

Slowly, she pulled the blanket down and reached out her hand. A mirror on the vanity table in front of her floated over to her.

“Oh my gosh, honey! I feel like I’m sixteen again!”

Seeing her reflection in the mirror—her noticeably younger, more radiant face—Wanda leaped out of bed with excitement.

Indeed, after the transformation, Wanda’s appearance and skin had reverted to their peak, just as they had been when she was sixteen.

Although she hadn’t stepped into cultivation herself or reached the Foundation Establishment stage where her body would be refined by spiritual energy, Leo’s powerful true energy at the Golden Core stage, combined with the Xuanyin Sect’s methods, achieved results almost as impressive as a full-body transformation from Foundation Establishment.
