MWM Chapter 270

This entry is part 271 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“You don’t need to be so hostile. I really am here to help you.”

Leo stood at the doorway, looking at the group of Inhumans surrounding him, led by Gordon. He shrugged helplessly.

At that moment, Jiaying slowly emerged onto the second-floor balcony. She first glanced at Gordon, and when she saw him shake his head, she sighed in relief. Then, looking down at Leo, she said coldly:

“Human, I don’t care where you came from, but you need to leave immediately. We don’t welcome you here. Out of respect for my daughter, Daisy, I won’t harm you.”

She had just looked at Gordon to check if there were any other humans hiding nearby. The answer was no.

Recently, an Inhuman with the ability to scout had awakened and, after some training, could monitor activity within a hundred kilometers.

“My name is Leo. In fact, we’re from the same homeland. Jiaying, stop being so stubborn. Whatever your plan is, it won’t succeed. You should give it up.”

Leo raised his head and spoke in Mandarin.

He wasn’t lying to Jiaying. Even if he didn’t intervene, her plan might work initially, but it would soon be thwarted.

Not to mention, the Ancient One was still alive.

The world was full of hidden powerhouses. Many humans had their own abilities, and there was no way they’d let the Inhumans wipe out humanity.

Even Nick Fury, with his single eye, wasn’t someone to be trifled with when pushed to the limit.

If Thanos hadn’t had the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers, but instead led an army to invade Earth like any other planet, the outcome would have been very different.

So, Jiaying’s plan to exterminate humanity and have the Earth be solely for the Inhumans was doomed to fail.

“It seems you don’t know your place!”

Jiaying narrowed her eyes and instructed Gordon:

“Take him down!”

It didn’t matter that he was a fellow countryman—or even her daughter. If Daisy didn’t stand by her in the end, she’d kill her too.

Gordon’s figure instantly vanished and reappeared behind Leo, raising a fist to knock him out.

His teleportation ability combined with years of combat training made him nearly unbeatable in hand-to-hand combat unless he faced a true master.

But before Gordon’s fist could connect, Leo vanished just like him. Gordon’s pupils shrank in shock, and before he could teleport away, his mind went blank, and he collapsed to the ground.

Standing behind him, Leo withdrew his index finger, having just cast a sleep spell, and smiled.

“You’re not the only one who can teleport.”

Over time, Leo’s Apparition skill had advanced far beyond the awkward pauses of his early days. He had “cheated” his way to a level on par with Dumbledore and Grindelwald by using shadow clones for extra practice.

Seeing their strongest fighter go down in one move, Jiaying’s face tightened.

“All of you, attack together! Take him down!”

“I’ll handle him!”

A young man in his twenties spread his hands, and a bolt of electricity shot toward Leo.

Leo’s wings of flying swords emerged once again, and one sword shot out, splitting the electric current in two, stopping right between the young man’s eyebrows.

The other Inhumans, seeing this, unleashed their abilities—some spewed fire, others shot ice spikes or porcupine-like quills, and even a few had hair extending toward him. There was no shortage of diverse powers.

In the face of these attacks, Leo didn’t use magic or ninjutsu. With a mere thought, countless flying swords shot out, shredding all the Inhuman abilities, and then hovered at the brows of each attacker.

This was the battle style of a Shushan sword cultivator: no matter how varied the attacks, one sword could break them all.

The sword arts of Shushan weren’t just about sharp blades. Their swords also carried energy that could shatter spells, as well as various enchantments embedded during their forging.

That’s why Shushan’s flying swords could break both energy and physical attacks.

“I’m not afraid of you!”

One Inhuman transformed his skin into metal capable of withstanding bullets and, ignoring the sword at his brow, began marching toward Leo.

However, he barely took half a step before blood dripped from his forehead, and he screamed in retreat.

His metal skin was impressive at deflecting bullets, but Leo’s flying swords were far more powerful. Unless his skin turned to vibranium, he stood no chance.

A female Inhuman, meanwhile, took advantage of Leo’s focus on the metal-skinned man to split herself into eight identical clones, charging at him.

But halfway through her charge, she stopped. Every one of her clones now had a small flying sword hovering at their brows.

“Not bad—real, physical clones. Too bad you’re too weak. When you get a boyfriend, make sure he buys our company’s tricolored pills. He’ll probably need them.”

Leo joked with the clone Inhuman before his body slowly floated to be level with Jiaying on the balcony.

“I have ten thousand flying swords. Do you have ten thousand Inhumans?”

“Who are you?”

Jiaying, now realizing that the lives of all the Inhumans in the town were in Leo’s hands, was no longer calm.

Leo took a small mask out of his pocket, put it on, and smiled.

“It seems Skye hasn’t had time to tell you. I have a rather unpleasant nickname—The Dark Sorcerer.”

“So it’s you. No wonder!”

Hearing his response, Jiaying gritted her teeth.

The person she feared most in the world wasn’t the man who had dissected her—Whitehall—though he was the one she hated the most. The one she feared was the mysterious Dark Sorcerer, who had wiped out an entire alien fleet on his own.

The only way to possibly challenge him was to create a large enough number of powerful Inhumans.

But she hadn’t expected him to find her before her plan even began.

“You’re not a normal human either. Sooner or later, they’ll reject you or try to control you. Why not join us Inhumans? Once humanity is gone, the entire Earth will be ours.”

Seeing that none of her hard-earned Inhumans could match Leo, Jiaying quickly shifted gears, attempting to pull him into her camp.

Leo, however, just waved her off.

“You know too little about this world. They can’t do anything to me. My power is enough to destroy them completely. But I’m not foolish enough to wipe out humanity.”

“Because there are others in this world even stronger than me. That’s why your plan will never succeed.”

“Stronger than you?!”

Jiaying’s face showed disbelief.

“Alright, I think now we can have a proper conversation.”

Leo instantly recalled all his flying swords and landed on the balcony beside Jiaying.
