- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 306
“Kurenai, if we survive this, will you marry me?”
Inside the massive water sphere, Asuma gasped for breath as he fought desperately, wielding his Wind Release chakra blades to fend off the bloodthirsty sharks. His heart raced, knowing that this might be his last chance to propose.
Kurenai, with one arm injured and unable to form hand seals from Kisame’s earlier attack, weakly raised the kunai in her left hand and replied, “I’m afraid our wedding might have to take place in the afterlife.”
“I knew there was something between you two! You wouldn’t admit it when I asked last time,” Anko Mitarashi quipped from beside them, using the last of her chakra to unleash her **Multiple Hidden Shadow Snake Hands**, killing several attacking sharks, while clutching her own kunai.
“Looks like I’ll send you all to die together!”
Kisame, seeing that the sharks had nearly drained the trio’s chakra, surged forward at top speed, transforming into a blur as he shot towards them like an arrow through the water, aiming for the kill.
At that moment, when all seemed lost, two figures suddenly appeared in front of Asuma, Kurenai, and Anko. One of them delivered a powerful kick directly to Kisame’s face, sending him flying back like a cannonball.
It was Leo, who had just used his **Shadow Phantom Teleportation** technique to appear before them, holding the unconscious Deidara by the collar.
“Chuan!” Asuma’s eyes lit up with hope as he and the others saw Leo. They knew that a month ago, Leo had already defeated Kisame once.
“So, it’s you again! Last time, you caught me off guard with a sneak attack. This time, I’ll avenge that humiliation!” Kisame growled, his face twisted with anger and wariness, remembering the shame of their previous encounter.
But Leo paid him no mind, casually turning to Asuma, Kurenai, and Anko and saying, “Place your hands on my shoulder. I’ll get you out of here first.”
The three quickly reached out and touched his shoulder.
“**Shadow Phantom Teleportation!**”
In an instant, Leo transported them out of the giant water sphere, reappearing safely outside.
“You like turning into a fish, huh? Well, how about I turn you into a grilled fish?”
All around the enormous water sphere, hundreds of Leo’s shadow clones had already encircled the area. The moment Leo returned with the three ninja, the clones immediately formed hand seals, preparing a high-level Lightning Release jutsu:
“**Lightning Release: 1,800 Pillars Binding Technique!**”
In an instant, 1,800 tall stone pillars erupted from the ground, completely surrounding Kisame’s massive water sphere, transforming it into a gigantic stone prison.
Each pillar began to crackle with high-voltage electricity, unleashing powerful lightning strikes that continuously attacked the water sphere’s core.
Though Lightning Release doesn’t inherently counter Water Release in this world, it still followed basic physical principles—conductivity.
The result was immediate. All of the sharks inside the water sphere were instantly vaporized by the electricity, and Kisame, who had fused with Samehada, was forcibly separated from the sword and electrocuted into unconsciousness.
With Kisame knocked out, the water sphere dissipated, and Leo canceled the Lightning Release.
The last time Leo had taken down Kisame in one hit was by using the Eight Gates technique. However, in Konoha, he couldn’t afford to reveal the use of the Eight Gates, as he wasn’t supposed to have learned that technique.
Although his Sage Mode-enhanced physical abilities would allow him to defeat Kisame in his shark form, it wouldn’t be as clean or decisive as the previous encounter.
So instead, Leo recalled all of his shadow clones, which had completed the task of rescuing civilians. Together, they performed a powerful Earth-Lightning combined technique that he had learned from the Third Hokage during his training—**Lightning Release: Four Pillar Binding Technique**.
The original version of this jutsu raised four pillars to entrap the enemy and deliver electric shocks. With skilled Jonin working together, it could be upgraded to the **Sixteen Pillar Binding Technique**, increasing both the range and the lightning’s intensity.
But in Leo’s hands, thanks to his shadow clones and immense chakra reserves, it had evolved into the **32 Pillar Binding Technique** under normal conditions. In Sage Mode, it became the **108 Pillar Binding Technique**. With the help of his clones, it now reached an unprecedented scale—the **1,800 Pillar Binding Technique**.
Asuma, Kurenai, and Anko stared in disbelief at the electrocuted and still twitching Kisame, knocked out cold on the ground. They had known Leo was powerful, but seeing him defeat the mighty Kisame with a single jutsu—one they were all familiar with—left them in awe. The enhanced, almost monstrous version of the Lightning Release technique had been truly terrifying.
“You three stay here and recover your chakra. I’m going to help the others.”
With a quick spell, Leo healed their external injuries. Then he walked over to Samehada, picked it up, and slung the unconscious Deidara over one shoulder and Kisame over the other. Without a second glance, he teleported with his remaining shadow clones toward the Hyuga clan’s compound.
As Leo’s figure disappeared, Asuma couldn’t help but speak aloud, “Honestly, I think it would be reassuring if he were chosen as the Fifth Hokage.”
Asuma, once one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja and a former bodyguard to the daimyo, didn’t share the same prejudices as Konoha’s upper echelon toward Leo. After everything they had just been through, he genuinely believed Leo would make an excellent Hokage—young, composed, incredibly strong, and possessing formidable healing abilities.
Kurenai and Anko nodded in agreement. Without Leo, they would already be dead.
Meanwhile, at the Hyuga compound, the battle was similarly one-sided. Even with reinforcements from nearby ninjas and the powerful Byakugan at their disposal, the Hyuga clan, led by Hiashi Hyuga, had only managed to destroy Sasori’s outer puppet shell, Hiruko.
But when Sasori revealed his youthful puppet body and unleashed the Third Kazekage puppet, equipped with Magnet Release, it quickly turned into a slaughter.
Sasori, when using his full power, was capable of annihilating entire nations single-handedly. At the age of fifteen, he had assassinated the Third Kazekage, who was considered the strongest, turning the Kazekage into a human puppet. His power had only grown stronger since then.
After joining Akatsuki, Sasori used the Third Kazekage puppet to destroy an entire small country, creating over a hundred new ninja puppets in the process.
Unless they had Kage-level strength or higher, it was impossible to stand against Sasori’s puppet army.
