MWM Chapter 312

This entry is part 313 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Yo, you’re the leader of the Akatsuki, Nagato, right?”

Leo entered the cave, glancing at Nagato, who was frail and skeletal, hooked up to a machine, and at Konan, who stood ready for combat, her expression tense. He greeted them with a casual and enthusiastic tone.

“You… you actually know my real name?” Nagato raised his head and looked at Leo with surprise.

Since founding the Akatsuki, he had always used the name Pain. The name Nagato was only known to a select few, such as Konan.

“Not only do I know you’re called Nagato, I also know this beautiful lady beside you is Konan, and I know your tragic backstory. In fact, I know far more than you could ever imagine,” Leo responded with a smile.

Nagato squinted his eyes slightly.

“You’re here to avenge the fallen Konoha shinobi, aren’t you? So it begins, the endless chain of hatred. The Akatsuki’s purpose was to break that chain,” Nagato said calmly.

“You think killing Nagato and destroying the Akatsuki will bring you any satisfaction? It’s just revenge for your own self-gratification. Only Nagato can bring true peace to this world,” Konan added, her face serious, clearly uneasy about facing Leo, who had already demonstrated overwhelming strength.

But Leo waved his hand dismissively. “Revenge? No, that’s not why I’m here. But you are right about one thing—this world is indeed caught in a cycle. As long as there’s war, there will always be hatred, and as long as there’s hatred, war will follow.”

He paused for a moment, then turned his gaze to the space behind Nagato, smiling knowingly. “Isn’t that right, Uchiha Obito?”

From the shadows, a figure wearing a one-eyed mask appeared, standing quietly at the back of the cave.

Obito and Zetsu had been secretly watching the entire time, believing they had hidden themselves well. However, Leo had already sensed their presence with his Yin-Yang Eyes. The moment he entered the cave, Obito had used Kamui to follow, concerned for Nagato’s safety.

“Uchiha Obito, so you’re not really Madara,” Nagato said, coughing twice as he turned his head coldly to glance at Obito, now standing beside him.

Though Obito’s identity had been revealed, he didn’t admit anything. Instead, he turned to Nagato and said, “He doesn’t know anything. He’s just trying to bluff. Don’t listen to him. The situation’s getting dangerous. I’ll get you and Konan out of here first.”

Obito reached out to touch Nagato, preparing to use Kamui to teleport them away. But Nagato, unwilling to leave, used **Shinra Tensei** to push him away.

“Not so fast. I want to hear what he has to say first,” Nagato said. He didn’t believe he had truly failed, as he still had one final trump card: summoning the Gedo Statue for battle.

Seeing that Leo seemed to know Obito’s real identity, Nagato wanted to take the opportunity to understand the truth.

“Uchiha Obito, former Konoha shinobi, a student of the Fourth Hokage Minato, presumed dead after being crushed by rocks during the Battle of Kannabi Bridge while saving Kakashi. Later, he was…” Leo didn’t hold back, detailing Obito’s entire background with ease.

“Oh, and by the way, when Yahiko died to trigger your Rinnegan’s power, it was Obito who intercepted and killed all the Akatsuki members who were coming to support you.”

Hearing this, the usually composed Nagato’s eyes widened in anger. He turned sharply to Obito and demanded, “Is what he’s saying true?”

Obito, shocked by how accurately Leo had revealed his past, stayed silent. He hadn’t expected Leo to know everything so clearly.

Realizing there was no point in lying, Obito’s expression turned grim. “I don’t know how you found this out, but since things have come to this point, there’s no choice but to use Plan B. Zetsu, control Nagato!”

Obito knew that once a seed of doubt had been planted, it would be nearly impossible to prevent it from growing. Nagato wouldn’t believe him, no matter how he explained. He couldn’t allow Nagato to slip out of his control, so he ordered Zetsu to take over Nagato’s body and retrieve Madara’s Rinnegan for future plans.

Besides, with the Akatsuki now practically wiped out by Leo, and with Itachi being a double agent, Nagato’s value had significantly diminished.

As soon as Obito spoke, a black shadow shot up from the ground beneath Nagato and merged with him before Nagato could react.

“Nagato!” Konan screamed in horror. She wanted to save him, but didn’t know how, since Black Zetsu had already fused with Nagato. Attacking Black Zetsu would also harm Nagato.

Obito spoke again. “Konan, you’d better not act rashly. If you do, Nagato will die. Help me hold off this prince, and once I’ve retrieved the Rinnegan, I’ll return Nagato to you.”

Konan clenched her teeth, hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly nodded and unfolded her angelic paper wings. For her, the Rinnegan wasn’t important—Nagato was. Or rather, in her eyes, even the ideal of peace wasn’t as important as Nagato and Yahiko. With Yahiko dead, Nagato was all she had left.

“Don’t worry about me. It’s fine, continue, just continue,” Leo said with a carefree smile, making no attempt to approach. Instead, he secretly activated the **Nine Sons Heavenly Demon Xuan Yin Banner** he had set up outside, sealing off the entire cave.

“Argh!”

Nagato let out a scream as Obito gouged out his Rinnegan.

“Let’s go, Zetsu,” Obito said, handing the now-blind Nagato back to Konan. He was preparing to use Kamui to teleport them away. Truth be told, Obito wasn’t confident he could defeat Leo, so he decided to retreat for now.

However, to his shock, Kamui failed. It felt as though an invisible force was blocking his Mangekyo Sharingan’s power.

“What did you do?” Obito turned to Leo, his expression serious.

Leo, having remained calm and unfazed throughout, even as Obito took Nagato’s Rinnegan, finally spoke with a smile.

“Oh, I just sealed off the space around here.”

“Obito, don’t be in such a rush to leave. Aren’t you curious about the truth behind your own life? Do you really believe you’re the one pulling the strings, and not just another puppet?”

“What are you trying to say?” Obito asked, removing his mask, revealing a hesitant expression.

Raising his hand, Leo continued, “The truth is, your entire life was orchestrated—by Madara, to fulfill his Eye of the Moon Plan. Even Rin’s death was part of his plan, just as you manipulated Yahiko’s death to trigger Nagato’s awakening.”

He then proceeded to explain Madara’s grand scheme in full detail.
