MWM Chapter 313

This entry is part 314 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“This… this can’t be!”

Obito’s pupils shrank as he spoke, his face showing disbelief. He never imagined that the true cause of Rin’s death was… because of him.

“Zetsu, is this true?”

“Obito, does it really matter whether it’s true or not? Rin and Madara are already dead. As long as you complete the ‘Eye of the Moon’ plan, you can create a world where Rin exists.

In that world, everyone can live the life they’ve always dreamed of, without pain and full of happiness. Isn’t that what truly matters?”

Black Zetsu, now reattached to White Zetsu, emerged from the ground and spoke.

Obito froze momentarily at these words, then mumbled to himself, “You’re right. None of it matters as long as I can create a world with Rin in it.”

Seeing this, Leo raised an eyebrow and commented, “‘The Eye of the Moon’ plan? Honestly, it’s even worse than the Tailed Beast Weapon plan. At least with the Tailed Beast Weapon plan, after sacrificing a large portion of the population, the remaining people would experience a temporary peace.

But your plan—it’s pure self-deception. Enveloping the world in a genjutsu, trapping everyone in a dream world where their physical bodies eventually die and become puppets under someone else’s control? There’s no bigger fool than that.”

In his eyes, the Infinite Tsukuyomi was nothing more than a massive illusion cast over the entire world.

You might think, “What does it matter if it’s an illusion if I can fulfill all my dreams in it?” But that’s just self-deception—no different from being trapped in a dream or becoming addicted to a drug. And the price for this illusion is everyone’s life.

To forsake reality and harm your real-life loved ones and friends for an illusionary dream world filled with imaginary, fake people… What’s the difference between living like that and being dead?

In the world of Shushan, when cultivators go through the Tribulation to become Earth Immortals, they too face inner demons, tempting them with beautiful illusions. Those who cannot see through the illusions ultimately fail their Tribulation and perish.

“So what? As long as there’s a world with Rin, that’s all I need!” Obito’s gaze grew resolute.

Zetsu, seeing this, began dragging Obito, preparing to use Earth Release to escape.

“Since you refuse to see reason, then it’s time for you to die!”

Leo shook his head and, in an instant, opened all Eight Gates. With a flash of movement, he appeared before Obito, swiftly seizing the two Rinnegan eyes with one hand and extracting Obito’s Mangekyo Sharingan with the other.

Finally, he delivered a devastating kick, shattering Obito’s body into pieces. Obito was dead—completely and utterly.

“There is an afterlife in this world. When you die, you’ll still see Rin. That’s also a world where Rin exists,” Leo added nonchalantly.

If Obito could have been swayed to work for him, Leo would have spared him.

After all, the atrocities Obito committed—such as unleashing the Nine-Tails on Konoha, killing Leo’s teacher and his wife, and causing the death of Yahiko, who tirelessly worked for peace—weren’t things that concerned Leo directly.

To put it bluntly, Leo wasn’t related to any of the victims. His decisions were always based on his own interests.

But, unfortunately, Leo wasn’t like Naruto, whose “Talk no Jutsu” could convert even the hardest hearts. Since he couldn’t convince Obito, the only option was to end him.

“You little shadow, did you really think you could control me?”

As Leo finished off Obito, Black Zetsu immediately activated Wood Release to restrain him, splitting off to quickly rush forward.

From Black Zetsu’s perspective, after spending thousands of years creating the Rinnegan, there was finally hope of reviving his mother, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. There was no way he could let Leo take it.

“Great Xuanyin Cauldron!”

Leo, already prepared, extended his hand. A black cauldron inscribed with countless runes flew out, instantly sucking Black Zetsu inside and sealing him.

Black Zetsu was the third child Kaguya secretly birthed from her will when she was sealed by her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura Ōtsutsuki. For thousands of years, Black Zetsu had manipulated events behind the scenes, all with the singular goal of freeing his mother.

In essence, the entire history of the world could be summarized as: “Black Zetsu’s quest to save his mother.”

However, Black Zetsu’s personal strength was weak, relying on manipulation and cunning to achieve his goals.

“Now, what should I do with you?” Leo muttered to himself, sealing the Great Xuanyin Cauldron and holding the three eyes in his hand. He then turned toward the blind Nagato.

Konan immediately stepped in front of Nagato to protect him.

“The Akatsuki is already destroyed. Without the Sage of Six Paths’ eyes, Nagato poses no threat. Let us leave, and we won’t trouble Konoha again,” Konan pleaded.

She knew she was no match for Leo, who had demonstrated overwhelming power and strange tools.

Nagato, with his face covered in blood, laughed bitterly and said, “I never imagined that Yahiko’s death was because of these eyes… because of me.

You can kill me, take revenge for Konoha, but please, spare Konan. She hasn’t killed a single Konoha shinobi.”

“No, no, no, I already told you, I didn’t come here to take revenge for Konoha’s shinobi. Actually, you and I share the same goal: world peace!”

Leo smiled sincerely as he approached Nagato.

Nagato, now blind, shook his head and laughed bitterly.

“Your idea of peace is different from mine. The peace of great nations is built on the sacrifice of smaller ones. Like Jiraiya-sensei wrote in his book, that kind of peace is unrealistic and impossible to achieve.”

Leo’s face turned serious as he began to explain:

“The peace I want isn’t like that. The root cause of war is self-interest. Every major nation and shinobi village wants to claim the best resources, which is why wars happen.

Wars create hatred, and hatred only fuels more wars. Even if you kill most people and show them the horrors of war, the next generation will still repeat the cycle.

The only way to truly achieve peace is through one solution.”

Nagato slowly raised his head, clearly intrigued.

“What solution?”

Leo spread his arms wide and said:

“Unify the world. When all the countries become one, when all the shinobi villages become one, and everyone’s interests are aligned, then the world will naturally be free of war.

I have a dream—to build a peaceful and powerful empire where everyone can live stable lives.

I have a dream—to end the hatred caused by shinobi, and to let future generations work together to build a beautiful empire.

I have a dream—to make shinobi no longer weapons of war, but just a normal profession.

So, Nagato, will you join me in building this powerful empire and creating a truly peaceful and beautiful world?”
