- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 319
As Leo’s Octopus ship was effortlessly pulled into the largest Ravager ship, the smaller Ravager vessels, like bees returning to a hive, flew into various docking ports.
Once the Octopus ship was securely fastened, Leo opened the hatch and stepped out with Wanda, Gamora, and Nebula.
Awaiting them was a group of Ravagers, already in position, their cosmic energy weapons aimed squarely at Leo’s crew.
“I am Ravager Captain Kakara! From now on…”
The red-skinned brute who had appeared on the screen earlier swaggered over, ready to give his usual pre-looting speech, but Leo cut him off without hesitation.
“I declare that, starting now, you’re the ones being robbed. Your ship, along with everything aboard, is now mine. And you all should be honored—you’re now my captives,” Leo declared confidently, hands behind his back.
Hearing this, Kakara and his crew exchanged glances, then burst into raucous laughter.
“This guy must be an idiot! He can’t see how many of us there are, or the weapons we’re holding. Do they have a death wish?”
“Weapons? What weapons?”
With a gentle turn of his Mangekyō Sharingan, Leo smiled subtly.
As soon as he spoke, Kakara and his crew let out startled cries. To their shock, the weapons they held had transformed into giant snakes, coiling tightly around their bodies and hissing menacingly.
Leo had cast a powerful illusion on every Ravager present, rendering them immobile with fear.
“What’s happening to them?”
Gamora, who had already placed her hand on her dagger, glanced around at the now-paralyzed Ravagers, bewildered. None of them had seen Leo do anything, yet all the attackers were frozen in place, their faces contorted with terror.
“I used a little magic to affect their minds, making them see some illusions,” Leo explained casually, then waved his hand, casting a Binding Spell to tie up the remaining Ravagers.
With Itachi’s Mangekyō Sharingan now implanted in him, Leo could effortlessly control anyone with weak mental fortitude. No matter how physically strong they were, all it took was a glance to subdue them instantly.
“That’s similar to Supergiant’s power,” Gamora remarked, thinking of Thanos’ lieutenant, who was known for her psychic control abilities.
“What are you planning to do with our leader?”
At that moment, more Ravagers, having watched the scene unfold on their ship’s monitors, rushed in, weapons drawn and ready to fire on Leo.
Before Leo could react, Wanda waved her hand. Hundreds of vibranium knives appeared in mid-air, zooming toward the attackers like heat-seeking missiles, shredding their weapons before hovering ominously in front of their foreheads.
“Wanda’s flying knives, always on target!” Gamora and Nebula stared in stunned silence.
They knew Leo was powerful—after all, he had single-handedly taken down the Chitauri mothership. But during their time on the ship, they had thought of Wanda as a chatty, kind-hearted woman with a small knack for conjuring food. They hadn’t expected her to be this formidable, taking down twenty Ravagers in mere moments.
…
“What exactly are you people?”
Now back to his senses, Kakara looked around at his thoroughly subdued crew before turning to Leo, fear creeping into his voice. Though Kakara was only a minor captain among the Ravagers, typically preying on small ships near developed planets like Xandar, he knew enough about the universe to recognize when he was dealing with someone far beyond his level.
Earlier, they had detected a seemingly primitive ship with no markings of major powers like the Kree or Nova Corps, so they had decided to intercept it without a second thought.
Many ships from less advanced planets carried goods that, though common where they came from, could fetch a high price on wealthy planets like Xandar. The risk was low, so why not take the opportunity? Sometimes you struck gold, sometimes you didn’t—but either way, there wasn’t much to lose.
It was certainly safer than raiding ships from powerful factions, where you might encounter heavy firepower and risk your entire crew’s lives.
But Kakara hadn’t anticipated that the occupants of this seemingly outdated ship would be so overwhelmingly strong, effortlessly capturing his crew in mere moments. If word of this got back to the other Ravagers on Contraxia, they’d laugh themselves to death.
“Who are we…? Hmm…”
Leo pulled up a chair and sat down, thinking for a moment before responding:
“You can call us… the Guardians of the Galaxy!”
“Guardians of the Galaxy?” Kakara frowned. He had never heard of such a group before.
Leo snapped his fingers.
“That’s right! We are the Guardians of the Galaxy, and I am Captain Leo.”
His new mission was to establish the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the success measured by how many of the original members he could recruit. Instead of trying to make Star-Lord form the team early, why not just create the Guardians himself? He could use his strength to convince—or coerce—everyone to join.
After all, as long as the Guardians existed and the original members joined, the mission would be complete. There was no need to stick to the original story.
“Now, I’ll ask, and you’ll answer. If your answers are good, you’ll live. If not… well, since you dared to try and rob me, I might just leave you all floating out there in the vastness of space.”
Leo grinned, gesturing to the endless expanse of the universe outside the ship’s windows.
Kakara swallowed nervously.
“Ask away. I’ll tell you whatever you want to know, as long as I can.”
Even though many species could travel through space, the majority would still die within seconds if thrown out unprotected, exposed to cosmic rays, solar winds, and the extreme cold and lack of oxygen.
Kakara didn’t want to die, so he chose to cooperate.
