- MWM Chapter 347
“Are you alright, Seiya?”
After swiftly taking down Shaina’s disciples, Leo extended his right hand toward Seiya.
Seiya, who had been preparing to unleash his inner Cosmos in retaliation, paused for a moment. He withdrew his Cosmos and gratefully took Leo’s hand to stand up.
“Thank you for the help, but who are you?” Seiya asked.
“I’m Leo, just like you, another Saint candidate. Unfortunately, I got eliminated early in the competition. I wasn’t as skilled as you to win the Pegasus Cloth,” Leo said with a smile of admiration.
Since no one knew him here, it was the perfect opportunity to go by his real name. If someone recognized him later, he could always claim he changed his name to forget the past.
“Hahaha, I just got lucky, really,” Seiya said, scratching the back of his head, embarrassed by the compliment.
Meanwhile, Shaina, who had been watching, could no longer hold back.
“Hmph, two novices who’ve just awakened their Cosmos. I’ll just take care of both of you!” she said, assuming her fighting stance, her Cosmos flaring. A faint image of a purple snake materialized behind her.
“Thunder Claw!”
Electricity sparked between Shaina’s fingers as she charged toward Leo and Seiya with incredible speed.
Seeing Shaina coming at him, Seiya hesitated, unsure how to fight a woman. His Cosmos struggled to ignite.
But Leo wasn’t concerned about such things. Entering Sage Mode, he clasped his hands together:
“Sage Art: Water Dragon Bullet!”
A massive water dragon surged forward, slamming into Shaina and launching her into the air.
“Sage Art: Water Dragon Bite!”
A second water dragon shot up, catching Shaina in its jaws and slamming her forcefully into the ground.
By the time Shaina hit the ground, she had lost consciousness.
At his current level, combining Sage Mode with his ninjutsu, Leo might struggle against a Gold Saint, but taking on most Silver Saints was manageable—especially since Shaina wasn’t wearing her Cloth, leaving her defenses significantly weakened.
“That technique… It’s so powerful!” Seiya exclaimed, his eyes wide in shock.
Saints strengthen their bodies by absorbing cosmic energy, which contains all the elements of the universe. When creating their own techniques, Saints often incorporate not just physical attacks but also special energy-based abilities.
For example, Seiya’s Pegasus Meteor Fist amplifies the speed and power of his punches through cosmic energy, allowing him to throw more punches at greater force compared to others at his level.
Most Bronze Saints could punch at supersonic speeds, but in a flurry of punches, only one might actually reach that velocity. Seiya’s Meteor Fist, on the other hand, could deliver five or six supersonic punches in a single barrage.
Likewise, the famed Plasma Light Speed Punch of Gold Saints Aiolos and Aiolia was a similar amplification technique. While all Gold Saints could throw punches at light speed, the brothers’ signature move unleashed billions of light-speed punches in a web-like formation, obliterating their enemies.
Beyond physical enhancements, some techniques, like Hyoga’s ice-based attacks or Shiryu’s dragon-shaped energy strikes, were more elemental, while others, like Ikki’s, involved mental or spiritual assaults.
There were also geniuses like Shaka, who developed telekinesis, spatial abilities, fire manipulation, and psychic powers.
Given that Saints use cosmic energy and mental strength, the range of techniques they could create was virtually limitless.
So, using a water dragon attack with just a hand sign? Seiya thought that made perfect sense.
“In fact, I lost in the first round of the competition for the Pegasus Cloth,” Leo began, weaving the story he had prepared in advance. “But that defeat awakened my Cosmos, and I developed this technique. Now that you’ve won the Pegasus Cloth, there’s no point in me staying at the Sanctuary. I’m planning to travel the world, to continue honing my Cosmos. I believe that even without a Cloth, with enough training, I can still become powerful.”
After defeating Shaina, Leo smoothly explained his backstory.
“Leo, your Cosmos is so strong! I’m sure you’ll earn your own Cloth one day!” Seiya said, now fully fired up, encouraging Leo with enthusiasm.
Nearby, Marin stood up and called out:
“We need to leave, now. Shaina’s not the only one who doesn’t want to see the Pegasus Cloth leave the Sanctuary. If we wait any longer, more people might come to stop us.”
Though she was impressed by Leo’s abilities, it wasn’t the time for idle chatter. The Sanctuary had been unstable for years, and she didn’t plan to stick around after safely sending Seiya away.
“Leo, since you plan to travel the world, why not come with me to Japan first?” Seiya invited.
From the moment Leo helped him, through their conversations afterward, Seiya had come to see him as a person full of justice, someone he could easily connect with.
“I was wondering where to go first. Let’s go to Japan!” Leo replied without hesitation.
This was exactly what he had been aiming for all along.
The two of them immediately agreed and hurried to the Athens airport, catching a flight to Japan that night.
“The Galaxian Wars’ first match, Unicorn Jabu versus Lionet Ban, ended today with Jabu claiming victory. Let’s take a look back at their fight…”
While waiting at the airport, the large screen was broadcasting news about the Galaxian Wars.
The Kido Foundation, as the world’s largest corporation, had spent a fortune promoting the tournament so that Saints around the globe could learn about the event. News reports about the Galaxian Wars were being broadcast not just in Japan but in many countries worldwide.
“The prize for the Galaxian Wars is a Gold Cloth?” Leo asked, feigning surprise as he looked at the news.
A Gold Cloth was the most powerful armor a Saint could wear. With only twelve in existence, it was a prize that would leave any Saint aspirant wide-eyed with astonishment.
It was no surprise the news hadn’t yet reached Saga’s ears, given that the Sanctuary was hidden in the mountains and rarely connected to Athens.
“Actually, my reason for going back to Japan is related to the Galaxian Wars too,” Seiya explained, sighing as he watched the TV, seeing faces he hadn’t seen in six years. “But I’m not in it for the Gold Cloth—I’m doing this for my sister.”
Hearing Seiya’s story, Leo patted him on the shoulder.
“You’ll definitely find your sister.”
If Leo remembered correctly, after Seiya was forcibly sent to train at the Sanctuary, his sister, Seika, had escaped the orphanage and gone to Greece to search for him.
Unfortunately, on her way from Athens to the Sanctuary, Seika fell off a cliff and lost her memory, eventually being taken in by a local elder.
Once they won the Gold Cloth, Leo could tell Seiya about this.
