- MWM Chapter 359
Leo had been closely observing the battle.
In truth, Duraldus’s cosmos wasn’t much stronger than Hyoga’s or Shiryu’s. His immense power primarily came from his exceptionally strong body.
Standing over five meters tall, his physique had surpassed the limits of a normal human.
To be honest, Leo even suspected that this guy might have some special bloodline in his ancestry.
After all, in a world where gods exist, mythical creatures probably once existed as well.
His body, which exceeded human limits, combined with a Bronze-level cosmos, made this Serpent Saint far more formidable than an average Silver Saint, with both terrifying destructive power and defense.
However, this was of little concern to Leo.
No matter how strong Duraldus’s body was, could it possibly compare to his own?
“Miss Saori, stay safe on the balcony. I’ll go down and have a friendly chat with our big friend from Sanctuary.”
With a calm wave to Saori Kido, Leo leaped down and landed in front of Duraldus.
“Hello, my friend. I’m Leo. I don’t think we need all this hostility. Why don’t we sit down and have a proper conversation? Fighting is such a waste.”
“Leo! So, it was you who defeated Phoenix Ikki. I must say, that’s impressive, but I, Duraldus, am not someone a mere Phoenix Saint can compare to!”
Upon seeing Leo, Duraldus’s expression became serious, and he immediately launched his ultimate move.
“Whirlwind Strike!”
He knew that anyone capable of defeating Phoenix Ikki, even without the aid of a Cloth, was no ordinary foe.
“You’re big, I’ll give you that. But can you be as big as me?”
In a flash, Leo appeared behind Duraldus, clasped his hands together, and muttered:
“Multiplication Technique!”
In an instant, his body began to expand rapidly. Within less than a second, he grew to a height of fifty meters, becoming a true giant.
“Take this!”
“What?! Impossible!”
Before Duraldus could confirm Leo’s position after his failed attack, he noticed the light above him suddenly dim. Looking up, he saw a massive hand descending upon him.
“Ahh!”
He instinctively raised his arms to defend himself, but he only managed to hold off the force for half a second before being swatted into the ground like a fly, unconscious.
Leo’s godlike giant form left Hyoga and the others, who had just dealt with the foot soldiers and come to help, standing in stunned silence.
“Oh, this is just a useless technique I developed over the past few days. It greatly increases my strength, but it also makes me an easy target.”
After shrinking back to his normal size, Leo casually explained to Hyoga and the others.
Hyoga, Shiryu, and Shun exchanged glances, speechless.
In just three days, he had created a new technique—and such a powerful one at that. If defeating someone as strong as Duraldus in one hit was considered “useless,” what did that make their techniques?
For someone much weaker than him, this giant form greatly enhanced his strength, so it couldn’t really be considered a flaw. But against fast opponents with similar strength, this technique wasn’t as useful.
For example, if he were to fight a Gold Saint, a punch with his massive body and strength could indeed injure the opponent—if it landed. But the opponent could easily retaliate, and given his large size, all of his weak points would be exposed.
So this Multiplication Technique was mainly for showing off or for moving very heavy objects or attacking inanimate objects that couldn’t fight back.
For instance, it could be used to move mountains or to break through some kind of defensive shield or seal with absolute power.
Beyond the standard Multiplication Technique, there was also the Super Multiplication Technique, combined with Sage Mode chakra. In extreme conditions, Leo had tested that his body could grow to a height of 500 meters, and the raw power was indeed overwhelming.
Of course, for actual combat, the second form brought about by the Hulk gene, combined with the Eight Gates and Sage Mode chakra, was more practical—and now, cosmos amplification could be added to the mix.
The second form was purely a physical transformation triggered by the Hulk gene. It didn’t involve chakra or true essence, but simply enhanced his base physical attributes.
The stronger the base, the more effective the combined techniques would be.
Meanwhile, at the city’s beachfront…
“What’s going on? Duraldus’s cosmos has weakened to the point of almost vanishing!”
Shaina paused as she stood over Seiya, who had been knocked down by her sister, Aster.
“Aster, don’t kill him. Take him with us.”
After a brief moment of thought, she stopped her sister from delivering the fatal blow to Seiya, then turned to Miho, who was being held by the Ghost Saints—Hydra, Dolphin, and Jellyfish—and coldly said:
“Go back and tell that Miss Saori Kido to bring the Gold Cloth here tonight to exchange for Seiya. If she refuses, I’ll kill him and then go to the villa to kill her.”
After signaling to her sister and the Ghost Saints, she swiftly departed.
On the way, Aster, carrying the unconscious Seiya, was full of confusion.
“Sister, what happened? Why did we suddenly change the plan?”
“I just sensed that Duraldus, that brainless brute, suddenly had a significant drop in his cosmos. It’s very likely he went ahead without waiting for us and failed in retrieving the Gold Cloth.”
Shaina’s tone was grim as she explained.
Two days ago, she had received a summons from Chief of Staff Gigars, assigning her and her disciple Cassios’s brother, Duraldus of the Serpent Constellation, to retrieve the Gold Cloth from R-country and eliminate the Bronze Saints who had betrayed Sanctuary.
The mission came with the promise that, if successful, her sister’s permanent confinement on Demon Island would be lifted.
To be safe, she had instructed Duraldus to take his subordinates to R-country first while she went to Demon Island to find her sister and her three subordinates, whose strength rivaled her own.
Her plan was to join forces and crush the enemies, retrieve the Gold Cloth, and complete the mission together.
Today, as they arrived in R-country by boat from Demon Island, they happened to come across Seiya, the Pegasus Saint and one of their assassination targets, strolling on the beach with Miho.
Figuring that killing one enemy would make things easier later, they decided to eliminate Seiya first before meeting up with Duraldus.
However, just as Aster defeated the Cloth-less Seiya, Shaina sensed a sudden weakening in Duraldus’s cosmos. Knowing his arrogant personality, she could easily guess the reason.
If someone had managed to defeat Duraldus, whose strength rivaled that of a typical Silver Saint, then the opposing camp surely had a strong fighter—possibly the one Chief of Staff Gigars had mentioned, the one who had defeated Phoenix Ikki.
Cautious now, Shaina planned to use Seiya as leverage to complete their mission at the seaside, a place most advantageous for the Ghost Saints to fight.
