MWM Chapter 361

This entry is part 362 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

Libra Dohko and Aries Mu were able to notice something suspicious, partly because Dohko and Shion had been friends for two hundred years. When Dohko suddenly felt his friend’s Cosmos disappear and noticed his strange behavior, how could he not become suspicious?

Mu, on the other hand, acted more directly. As Shion’s disciple, when he realized his master’s Cosmos had vanished, he immediately attempted telepathic contact, but received no response.

Even though both Dohko and Mu knew something was wrong with the Pope, they dared not make it public. The other Gold Saints would never believe them over the Pope, who had governed Sanctuary for over two centuries.

If a civil war among the Gold Saints were to break out, both sides would suffer greatly, and the Holy War would be rendered irrelevant, allowing Hades to easily reap the benefits.

Besides, Dohko had to guard the seal on the demon star, which left Mu to face the situation alone, struggling to handle it by himself.

So now, even though some Gold Saints were growing suspicious of the Pope’s actions, most still trusted him, believing that Athena was in Sanctuary, though no one but the Pope was deemed worthy of seeing her.

“You’re talking nonsense! The old master and young miss are no thieves! The Gold Cloth rightfully belongs to her—she is Athena!”

Chrysaor Canis had heard Duradys insult the people he respected most, the old master and young miss, and immediately flew into a rage. He stormed forward, cursing loudly, but stopped suddenly, as though he had just realized something.

Leo’s eyes flickered with interest, and he quickly asked, “Mr. Canis, do you know something, or did Mr. Mitsumasa Kido tell you anything?”

“I…no…no,” Canis stammered.

Saori Kido, who knew Canis well, also noticed something was off. She spoke sternly, “Canis, if you know something, you’d better say it now!”

“Th-this…alright. The master had told me to wait until all the young warriors returned and had pledged their loyalty to you before revealing it. But since things are like this, I’ll just say it. Young miss, you are Athena!”

Realizing he couldn’t hide it from Saori any longer, Canis reluctantly revealed the truth.

“Thirteen years ago, while on a trip, the master met someone…and that’s how the master took you and the Gold Cloth from a man named Aiolos.”

“After returning, he began selecting young warriors who could help you save the world.”

“Is this true?”

“If that baby girl was truly the reincarnation of Athena, born after centuries…”

“Then…Miss Saori…is Athena!”

Seiya, Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga, and even Saori herself were all stunned upon hearing this revelation.

Duradys and his men, however, sneered in disbelief, refusing to accept Canis’ words.

“Oh, there’s something else,” Canis continued. “The master said that once you learned the truth, this item was to be given to you.”

With that, Canis ran into the villa. Five minutes later, he emerged, holding a golden staff with a unique design in both hands.

Saori instinctively took hold of the staff, and suddenly, a warm and powerful Cosmos erupted from within her, spreading outward as she slowly closed her eyes.

“What an incredible Cosmos!”

Everyone present could faintly see a towering figure of Athena appear behind Saori.

“It seems she’s about to awaken.”

Leo narrowed his eyes, sensing the overwhelming Cosmos within Saori. He knew that from this moment on, Saori Kido had essentially begun her awakening.

“Boom!”

At that moment, a golden light burst from the villa’s top floor, and the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, seemingly resonating with Athena’s Cosmos, broke free from its case and flew to Saori’s side.

Simultaneously, as if reacting to Athena’s Cosmos, a pillar of flame suddenly appeared beside Shun, and from it emerged Ikki, clad in his new Phoenix Cloth.

Behind each Saint, constellations began to glow: Pegasus, Dragon, Swan, Andromeda, Phoenix, Ophiuchus, and many others. Except for  Leo, everyone was enveloped by the shining constellations.

Shaina and the others were momentarily confused. Deep inside, they sensed that this young girl’s Cosmos was indeed Athena’s, but logic told them it was impossible.

After all, Athena was supposed to be in her temple, under the Pope’s protection. Why would the Pope send them to kill her?

But what happened next completely shattered their doubts.

Saori Kido, holding the golden staff, opened her eyes. Her expression was solemn, and her gaze was filled with wisdom, like Athena herself.

“I am Athena, one of the twelve Olympian gods, the goddess of wisdom and war. And you are the Saints chosen by the gods. Your true battle begins now.”

She turned to  Leo. “I bestow upon you the Sagittarius Gold Cloth. From today, you are the new Sagittarius Gold Saint!”

With a wave of her staff, the Sagittarius Cloth instantly broke apart and assembled itself onto  Leo’s body, while the constellation of Sagittarius appeared behind him.

Clad in the Gold Cloth,  Leo immediately felt his Cosmos amplified tenfold by the special energy contained within the Cloth.

For a Saint who had already mastered the Seventh Sense, the Gold Cloth didn’t provide much of a boost. Even without it, their power would not diminish significantly.

But for  Leo, whose Cosmos was still at the Bronze level, the enhancement from the Gold Cloth was overwhelming.

No wonder, in the original story, Seiya, who hadn’t yet mastered the Seventh Sense and only had the power of a Silver Saint, could barely withstand two blows from a Gold Saint while wearing the Sagittarius Cloth.

Still,  Leo was surprised that Saori, having just awakened, would grant him the Sagittarius Gold Cloth so quickly. He had thought it wouldn’t happen until they reached the Twelve Temples.

Moreover, he was a little worried that Saori, in her awakened state, might detect something different about him.

After all, Athena was one of the twelve Olympian gods.

But now, it seemed his worries were unfounded.

Perhaps she hadn’t noticed, or perhaps she didn’t care. As long as he remained loyal to Athena and fought to win the Holy War, any differences wouldn’t matter to her.

“So, Miss Saori really is Athena. Athena and her Saints…the legend has become reality! This is incredible!”

Seiya was ecstatic upon confirming that Saori was indeed the incarnation of Athena.

“The enemy is the Pope, within Sanctuary!”

“No…it can’t be…is it possible that the Pope betrayed Athena? Could she really be the true Athena?”

Shaina and her group were now completely torn, leaning towards believing in Saori.

As the Sagittarius Cloth merged with  Leo, Saori’s Cosmos vanished, and her expression returned to its normal state.
