- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 363
When Pope Shion decided to pass the position of Pope to Sagittarius Aiolos, Saga had no objections, but his brother Kanon felt it was unfair to him.
Kanon believed his brother was actually the strongest among the Gold Saints, and not any younger than Aiolos, especially with him, Kanon, by his side.
So, Kanon incited Saga, suggesting that he use the God-slaying Golden Sword to kill Athena, who had just been born in the Sanctuary, along with Pope Shion, and take control of the Sanctuary himself.
However, the kind and justice-driven Saga rejected the plan on the spot and imprisoned his brother Kanon in the rocky prison of the Sniwang Strait to make him reflect on his inner evil.
That night, however, Saga’s personality suddenly changed. He followed Kanon’s suggestion and killed the Pope, even attempting to kill Athena.
The reason behind this shift dates back to when the twins were born. The Goddess of Fate, Ker, the sister of the twin gods Hypnos and Thanatos who served Hades, secretly placed an evil spirit into Saga’s body, forming a new soul known as Black Saga.
Thirteen years ago, it was Black Saga who took control of the body, causing the subsequent tragedies.
Moreover, empowered by Ker’s divine power, Black Saga was stronger than the good-natured Blue Saga, and in the end, even with Athena’s Cosmo empowering the five Bronze Saints to temporarily reach Gold Saint levels, they still couldn’t defeat him.
It was only when Blue Saga forcibly regained control of the body for a few seconds, resorting to suicide, that the tragedy came to an end.
As for why Ker did this, it was to cause internal strife in the Sanctuary. Ideally, she wanted to kill Athena and take control of the Sanctuary, but if that failed, she at least wanted to severely weaken its strength.
And indeed, she succeeded.
With Saga’s rebellion, Pope Shion died, and out of the twelve Gold Saints, only six remained—Libra, Taurus, Virgo, Aries, Leo, and Scorpio. Over half of the Silver Saints also perished.
If it weren’t for the unexpected rise of the five Bronze Saints, the Holy War would have been lost without a doubt.
“Then let’s set off for the Sanctuary, defeat the Pope, and let everyone know the truth!”
At this moment, Seiya exclaimed passionately.
Before Leo could stop him, Shaina already spoke up:
“Seiya, you’re too naive. With our current strength, it’s impossible to defeat the Sanctuary. There are many Silver Saints far stronger than me, and above them, there are the Gold Saints, whom we have no chance of defeating!”
“What? Isn’t there only one set of Gold Cloth?”
Everyone exclaimed in unison.
Until now, they had believed there was only one set of Gold Cloth, and that the strongest of them had already been granted the Cloth by Athena.
This confidence was what made them think they could storm the Sanctuary directly.
Shaina shook her head:
“That’s not the case. Seiya, you’ve been staying at the lowest level of the Sanctuary, so you didn’t know that on the way to the Pope’s palace, there are the Twelve Zodiac Temples, each guarded by a Gold Saint.
Do you know how terrifying the strength of a Gold Saint is?
I’ll simplify it for you: the minimum requirement to become a Gold Saint is to be able to punch at the speed of light!”
“What? Punching at the speed of light?”
Hearing Shaina’s explanation, Seiya and the others trembled in fear.
Their current punch speed was at most around two Mach. The revived Ikki could probably reach four or five Mach, and even the strongest among them, Leo, only displayed ten Mach.
Meanwhile, the speed of light is approximately 880,000 Mach—a gap as vast as heaven and earth.
“Shaina has a point, but we can’t just sit here and wait.”
At this moment, Leo stepped forward:
“My suggestion is that we don’t rush into the Sanctuary. First, we should find a way to strengthen ourselves and then share the truth with people we trust, like your mentors.
This way, our side will grow stronger.
The false Pope won’t sit idly by either and will surely send more Saints after us.
We can wait here, defeat them one by one, and weaken the Sanctuary’s forces.
When the time is right, we’ll strike and defeat the false Pope in one go!”
He then looked at Saori Kido:
“Miss Saori, what do you think?”
After a brief moment of thought, Saori Kido nodded:
“You make sense. We shouldn’t act recklessly. Let’s follow your plan.”
At this point, Saori had already exited her awakened Athena state, but being inherently wise as Athena’s reincarnation, she wasn’t foolish and knew that Leo’s plan was the safest course of action.
“Then let’s set off quickly, and return before the Sanctuary sends out another wave of Saints.”
Hyoga spoke up.
The Sanctuary had just sent Shaina and the others, and without confirming their mission’s status, it would likely be some time before they launched another attack, giving them time to prepare.
After discussing, they finalized their plan.
Ikki stayed behind with Shaina and the others to protect Saori Kido. Hyoga returned to Siberia to find his master, the Crystal Saint. Shun went back to Andromeda Island to seek out his mentor, Cepheus Albiore, and Shiryu returned to Five Old Peaks to find his master, Dohko.
Meanwhile, Seiya and Leo quietly infiltrated the Sanctuary to find Marin and gather information about the Sanctuary, hoping to uncover something useful.
“My space ability only allows me to teleport to places I’ve been or marked. I’ll first take Seiya to the Sanctuary, and once we’re done there, I’ll teleport back to bring the rest of you.”
After confirming the plan, Shiryu, Hyoga, and Shun each boarded planes back to their respective training grounds to find their masters, while Leo took Seiya with him and teleported to the mountains beneath the Sanctuary.
“Seiya, do you remember when Miho told you that after you were sent to the Sanctuary, your sister Seika secretly escaped from the orphanage and disappeared?”
“Yes, Miss Saori told me she has sent people all over the world to look for her, but there hasn’t been any news yet.”
Seiya’s expression darkened at the mention.
Leo smiled:
“The world is vast. Searching for someone is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It’s not that easy.
But we can make a reasonable guess. When your sister escaped from the orphanage back then, it was surely to find you, so her destination must have been the Sanctuary.
From Japan to Athens isn’t difficult. She could’ve taken a plane. But from Athens to the Sanctuary, it’s all mountains—normal vehicles can’t pass through.
So, isn’t it possible that your sister is in Athens or in one of the nearby mountain villages?”
“You’re right! I didn’t think of that. This narrows it down a lot. Once we get back, I’ll ask Miss Saori to send people to Athens and the nearby areas to help me find my sister.”
Hearing this, Seiya’s eyes lit up, and with the Kido family’s wealth, searching within a single city and its surroundings wouldn’t take long.
