- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 367
“Phew! That was close!”
On the vast icy plains of Siberia, as Hyoga carried his Cloth, Leo suddenly appeared out of thin air with Marin and Seiya beside him.
“What happened to you all?”
Hyoga looked at the unconscious Marin, the shaken Seiya, and Leo, who was letting out a sigh of relief, with a confused expression.
Leo, calming himself down, smiled and said, “We ran into some trouble. We encountered a Gold Saint, and if we hadn’t run fast, we might’ve been stuck in the Sanctuary.”
Originally, he thought this infiltration would go smoothly, but his luck turned sour when they ran into Aiolia. According to Karot’s memories, he had spent years in the Sanctuary without ever seeing a Gold Saint once.
If they had encountered Aiolia outside the Sanctuary, Leo wouldn’t have been too worried. Even if he couldn’t win, he could at least escape. But within the Sanctuary’s barrier, and with more than one Gold Saint around, this mission turned out to be more dangerous than he anticipated.
Nonetheless, he had finally witnessed the power of a Gold Saint’s light-speed punches and had a better understanding of their strength.
After briefly explaining what had just happened in the Sanctuary and reviving Marin, Leo filled her in on the situation. The four of them then began walking toward the village on the glacier ahead.
While Leo and Seiya had teleported to the Sanctuary, Hyoga had taken a plane from the Kido family. So, during the few hours that Leo and Seiya spent in the Sanctuary, Hyoga had only recently landed and hadn’t yet returned to the village where he’d been living and training under his master, the Crystal Saint.
“Where is everyone? What’s going on here?”
As they arrived at the village entrance, Hyoga’s face turned pale.
The village was completely empty. Many doors were wide open, and snow had blown into the houses, making it look as if no one had lived there for several days.
“Cloud Riding Technique.”
Leo waved his hand, and a cloud appeared beneath his feet.
“Hop on, and I’ll take you around to search for any clues.”
“What’s this?”
Seiya reached out to touch the cloud under Leo’s feet, feeling as if he were grabbing onto a soft, fluffy mass.
“This is a cloud that can carry you. It’s the flying technique you guessed I’d developed,” Leo laughed.
Without a word, Marin stepped onto the cloud, which effortlessly lifted her. Seeing this, Seiya and Hyoga both quickly jumped onto the cloud as well.
“Thud! Thud!”
Both of them immediately fell through the cloud, landing on the ground in an awkward heap.
“What just happened?”
Seiya and Hyoga rubbed their backs, utterly confused.
Why could Marin stand on the cloud while they fell through?
“Oh, I forgot to mention, only those with a pure heart can stand on the cloud,” Leo explained with a completely serious face.
Seiya and Hyoga were stunned.
Not pure-hearted? They were only thirteen years old! They had lived a life of rigorous training, untouched by worldly temptations, with their sole focus on protecting Athena. How could they not be pure-hearted?
“Hahaha, relax, I was just joking. Come on, get on the cloud. Let’s go find the Crystal Saint and the villagers.”
After satisfying his playful side, Leo laughed and used the cloud to envelop the two of them. Together, they soared into the sky, searching the surrounding area.
Seiya and Hyoga exchanged helpless glances.
After spending enough time with Leo, they had learned that while he was generally a reliable and gentle big brother figure, he occasionally enjoyed teasing them.
Even Shiryū, who used to boss them around with a bad attitude, stopped doing so after being pranked by Leo a few times.
“There they are!”
After flying for a while, they eventually found the missing villagers.
The villagers were being treated like slaves, whipped by guards carrying firearms, forced to cut and transport huge blocks of ice to a specific location where they were building a massive structure resembling the base of a pyramid.
“Hurry up, you worthless peasants! It’s an honor to be working on the Pope’s pyramid. If you slack off, we’ll hang you all!”
Elderly men, frail women, and even children as young as seven or eight were being mercilessly whipped for the slightest delay. If anyone collapsed, they were beaten even harder, often to death, before being dragged away.
“Stop this!”
Seeing so many familiar faces, Hyoga’s rage erupted. He immediately ignited his Cosmo and leapt off the cloud.
“It’s Hyoga! Hyoga has come to save us!”
The villagers, seeing Hyoga descending from the sky, cheered with relief. Their hope had finally returned.
The soldiers opened fire at Hyoga, but ordinary weapons were useless against a Saint. Even a Bronze Saint’s punches surpassed the speed of sound, and their Cloth protected them.
It was a one-sided massacre, and soon all the soldiers were lying on the ground.
Leo, still riding the cloud, descended with Seiya and Marin.
“Who are these people? Where’s the Crystal Saint?”
Hyoga asked the gathered villagers.
A young boy stepped forward.
“Hyoga, they’re from the Sanctuary. The Crystal Saint has gone to the Sanctuary as well.”
“Yakoff, tell me what happened,” Hyoga knelt down to question the boy further.
With Yakoff and the villagers’ help, they pieced together the events.
The day after Hyoga left the village, the Sanctuary sent a group of soldiers with an official decree from the Pope, forcing all the nearby villagers to work on constructing the pyramid.
The Crystal Saint was furious but couldn’t defy the Pope’s orders. He went to the Sanctuary himself to confront the Pope and had not returned since.
“Hyoga, so you’ve returned. Good. Today, I’ll cleanse the Sanctuary of you traitors myself!”
On their way back to the village with the rescued villagers, someone blocked their path.
It was the Crystal Saint, Hyoga’s master, who had just returned from the Sanctuary.
Without hesitation, he launched an attack on Leo and the others.
“Master, listen to me! It’s not what you think!”
Hyoga, believing his master had been misled by the false Pope, only dodged and tried to explain, unable to bring himself to fight back.
Already aware of the situation, Leo immediately activated Sage Mode and knocked the Crystal Saint out with a single strike.
“Hyoga, the Crystal Saint’s mind is being controlled by an illusion. He won’t listen to you right now. Let me break the spell first.”
