- MWM Chapter 375
“Hmph, just as the Pope said, you’ve stolen Athena’s staff, attempting to deceive the Gold Saints. Capricorn Saints have always been the most loyal among the Gold Saints, bestowed the Holy Sword by Athena herself. Do you think we’d fall for such tricks?”
A flicker of hesitation passed through Shura’s eyes before his expression hardened, and he responded loudly.
Meanwhile, Shaka, who was floating in mid-air with his eyes closed, slightly changed his expression upon sensing Athena’s cosmos, but quickly regained his calm.
“You claim that the Pope is an evil traitor, but I, Shaka, possess the ability to see into the true essence of the soul. From what I’ve observed with my mind’s eye, the Pope’s heart holds no evil.
Therefore, you are the true traitors. Prepare for judgment—**Demon Pacifier**!”
As he spoke, Shaka’s cosmos erupted, and visions of the Eastern Heavenly Court, the Great Thunder Temple in the West, Amitabha’s teachings, the Indian Twenty-Four Heavens, and Jehovah’s Paradise enveloped everyone.
In an instant, countless attacks rained down from all directions.
With just this single move, everyone except for Leo, Saori Kido, Aioria, Mu, and Aldebaran was taken down.
“Shaka, if that’s the case, then let me, Mu of Aries, be your opponent!”
Mu leaped forward, directly confronting Shaka.
“**Stardust Revolution!**”
“Leo, take Athena and keep moving forward,” Mu telepathically conveyed to Leo after holding Shaka back.
Seeing that Shaka was preoccupied, Shura moved to finish Athena off, but Aldebaran of Taurus blocked his path.
“**Great Horn!**”
And so, the battle began: Mu versus Shaka, Aldebaran versus Shura—the Gold Saints clashed.
“We’re moving.”
Leo didn’t stay to help and, along with Aioria of Cepheus, continued escorting Athena forward.
Aldebaran and Shura were evenly matched in strength, and it seemed that their fight could go on for days without a clear victor.
However, Mu’s match against Shaka was different. Truthfully, if Shaka were serious, Mu wouldn’t last long. Shaka specialized in large-scale attacks, and with years of honing his cosmos with his eyes closed, he would become even stronger once he opened them. Even if everyone joined forces to help Mu, it would still be a grueling battle.
Given this, it was better to take Athena to the next temple, recruit Aiolia, Milo, and Camus, and return to deal with Shaka and Shura together.
Additionally, they needed to be wary of Saga. If he suddenly launched a sneak attack while they were fighting Shaka, things would take a turn for the worse.
Once Leo and the others had disappeared, Mu, still engaged in battle with Shaka, spoke up:
“Shaka, do you truly believe we are deceived? With your wisdom, surely you don’t think that!”
“Mu, I know you haven’t been deceived. But what I see in the Pope’s heart is justice and kindness. So let’s leave it at that for now. You need not intervene, and I won’t hinder their progress any further.”
Shaka clasped his hands together, using his Immoveable King technique to withstand Mu’s attacks without retaliating.
Leo had already guessed the truth. The reason Shaka saw justice and kindness in the Pope’s heart was that he had glimpsed the true essence of Saga.
However, the one controlling Saga’s body now wasn’t Saga himself, but an evil spirit.
As a man closest to god, Shaka’s divinity often outweighed his humanity. He never concerned himself with external actions, only with essence. No matter what the Pope did, as long as his essence remained just and kind, Shaka would consider him righteous.
This was why Shaka had never doubted the Pope before and had staunchly stood by his side.
But after seeing Saori Kido and the others, he grew uncertain, because their hearts, too, were filled with justice and kindness, far from evil.
Thus, Shaka chose to keep Mu with him in battle, allowing Leo and the others to proceed, while he would wait and make a judgment based on the situation as it unfolded.
“The exit is just ahead!”
Aioria of Cepheus spotted the faint outline of the exit in the distance and smiled.
But Leo suddenly stopped and shielded Athena, his senses heightened.
“Be careful. There’s killing intent.”
“Your senses are quite sharp. Since Shaka and Shura failed to finish you off, it looks like I’ll have to handle it myself!”
From behind a pillar, a man in a Pope’s robe and mask stepped forward.
Aioria gasped in shock.
“The Pope—Ares!”
“It’s more appropriate to call him Gemini Saga.”
Leo stepped in front, sending a telepathic message to Aioria:
“In a moment, I’ll engage him. You take Athena forward and continue. Once Athena has gathered the remaining Gold Saints, come back and help.”
If Aioria had been stronger, Leo would have preferred to let him handle Saga while he took Athena to find the others. It would have been much safer that way.
Unfortunately, though Aioria had awakened his Seventh Sense and reached a level comparable to the Gold Saints, he was no match for Dark Saga at his peak and could easily be defeated in a single blow.
Even if Leo went all out, he wouldn’t be able to defeat Dark Saga. But with his various abilities, Leo could at least buy time. He wasn’t looking to win, only to delay.
“So, you’ve figured out my identity. In that case, there’s no need to hide anything anymore. I’ll send you to the Underworld right here in my Gemini Temple!”
Saga’s body froze momentarily as Leo revealed his true identity. Then, he removed his mask, revealing the face he had kept hidden for thirteen years.
With a wave of his hand, the Gemini Gold Cloth flew to him, and his cosmos surged to its peak.
“Milo told me that you two managed to defeat Aphrodite and used spatial powers to escape. It seems you have some strength. Let’s see if you can survive a single strike from me.”
Saga had been suspicious of Milo’s report from Andromeda Island, but after sensing the cosmos within this new Sagittarius, he believed it.
A Sagittarius with a cosmos at the Silver level, even in Gold Cloth, couldn’t reach the level of a Gold Saint. Teaming up with the awakened Seventh Sense of Aioria, they had barely managed to defeat Aphrodite. But beating Milo was out of the question.
At their current level, Saga could finish them off with a single move.
“**Galaxian Explosion!**”
“Milo didn’t tell Saga everything.”
Hearing Saga’s words, Leo quickly understood the situation. His Mangekyo Sharingan spun rapidly.
“**Ninjutsu: Tsukuyomi!**”
Before Saga could finish his move, he vanished.
“Hurry!”
With Leo’s urgent shout, Aioria, with strength nearing that of a Gold Saint, vanished with Athena in the blink of an eye, escaping from the Gemini Temple.
