MWM Chapter 379

This entry is part 380 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

One hour before the first anniversary of entering the world of the Saints.

Leo was voluntarily shutting off his five senses in the Pope’s chamber, focusing on comprehending the ultimate cosmos—the Seventh Sense.

This had become a daily routine for him after the end of the Sanctuary’s civil war.

After battling three Gold Saints, particularly Saga, his cosmos had grown significantly, advancing to the Silver Saint level, and he was not considered weak among the Silver Saints.

However, he was still far from mastering the Seventh Sense, the ultimate cosmos.

Therefore, every day, he dedicated time to shutting off his senses and training his cosmos to grasp the Seventh Sense.

Although he hadn’t fully unlocked the Seventh Sense yet, his efforts were not in vain—his cosmos had become much more powerful.

During this time, he frequently challenged the other Gold Saints, using the pretense of sparring to copy their techniques with his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Thanks to the learning cheat of the shadow clone technique, a month ago, he had already mastered the techniques of all the Gold Saints except for Dohko. Although his cosmos wasn’t as strong as theirs, he had incorporated his own unique traits, significantly improving his overall strength.

In addition, he had found time to upgrade his Sagittarius Gold Cloth. By learning Mu’s cloth-repairing techniques, he infused Vibranium and Uru metal into his Gold Cloth, along with a significant amount of his own blood.

Finally, using Taoist artifact-forging techniques, he imbued the Sagittarius Gold Cloth with some artifact-like abilities, such as storing it in his dantian to be nourished by his internal energy, and activating defensive formations for enhanced protection.

“Pope, the mission is complete. We have captured Siren Sorento at the Northern Sea Asgard.”

At that moment, Shaka’s voice echoed in Leo’s mind.

“Lock him up for now. I’ll deal with him after I finish other business,” Leo replied telepathically, halting his training.

Saga had a twin brother named Kanon, who, thirteen years ago, had tried to manipulate Saga into killing Athena and taking the Pope’s throne. As a result, Kanon was imprisoned in a rocky dungeon in the Sniwang Strait.

However, while imprisoned, Kanon discovered the soul of Poseidon, the Sea God, which had been sealed by Athena.

He released Poseidon’s soul and, while Poseidon’s soul reincarnated into Julian Solo and remained dormant, Kanon impersonated one of Poseidon’s seven generals and summoned the Mariners, assuming command of the sea realm.

In order to weaken Athena’s cosmos and capture her, Kanon ordered Siren Sorento to place the Nibelungen Ring on Hilda, the representative of Asgard, to control her and make the God Warriors fight against the Sanctuary.

Since Leo had become the Pope of the Sanctuary, he wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen.

First, he created a portal between Asgard and the Sanctuary, using a key he had made himself. Then, using the Kido family’s vast wealth, he sent generous supplies to the freezing territory ruled by Hilda.

By helping Asgard establish trade and improve the living conditions of its people, Leo forged a friendly and cooperative relationship with Hilda and her God Warriors.

He also secretly assigned Shaka to protect Hilda. If Sorento tried to place the Nibelungen Ring on her, Shaka was to defeat him and bring him back to the Sanctuary.

In this way, Kanon’s scheme was thwarted.

“The time’s up. I’ll deal with Poseidon and Hades the next time I return.”

As the countdown ended, the scene of the Pope’s chamber shifted, and Leo found himself back on Ego’s planet.

The scenery transitioned as Mantis was still at the temple entrance, explaining Ego’s plan. Suddenly, a powerful surge of energy erupted from the temple.

Sensing it, Leo smiled and said, “Looks like Ego just unlocked Star-Lord’s celestial power.”

But the next moment, his expression froze, and he couldn’t help but curse, “Damn it, Star-Lord, you’re really unreliable!”

He realized that instead of one energy source, there were two clashing violently, and soon, the weaker energy was overpowered.

It was obvious that after unlocking his celestial power, Star-Lord had immediately gotten into a fight with Ego—and lost.

“Mantis, you know where Ego’s core is, right? Take them there. Peter and I will catch up.”

Knowing he couldn’t delay any longer, Leo created a shadow clone and instructed Mantis to lead Gamora and the others to Ego’s hidden core.

“What’s going on? Wasn’t the original plan—” Rocket started, confused, and the others, except Drax, wore similar expressions.

Their plan had been to buy time until Star-Lord fully mastered his celestial powers, then combine Mantis’ sleep-inducing ability with Leo’s strength to take down Ego together.

Now, suddenly shifting to attacking Ego’s core caught them off guard.

“Ask Peter after this is over. He’s already fighting Ego in the temple. I have to save him.”

Leaving those words, Leo teleported to the temple hall where Star-Lord was.

At that moment, Star-Lord was impaled through the chest by Ego’s energy tendrils, having his celestial power drained from him, completely unable to resist.

“If you’re so weak and still cling to human emotions, then you’ll serve as nothing more than a battery, eternally fueling my energy!” Ego declared.

“**Lightning Speed Punch!**”

Upon arriving, Leo instantly activated his full power and unleashed a flurry of lightning-fast punches, obliterating the humanoid projection of Ego on the spot.

“Good thing I’ve gotten much stronger. Otherwise, this would’ve been tricky!”

Before entering the world of the Saints, Leo knew that facing Ego would have been extremely difficult.

But now, with his cosmos fully developed and having learned all the Gold Saints’ techniques, his power had grown considerably, giving him a real chance of defeating Ego in a one-on-one battle.

“Kidding me, Peter? What’s wrong with you?”

Leo kicked the recovering Star-Lord, clearly frustrated.

Star-Lord, pulling out his element guns and muttering curses, explained, “That guy didn’t even feel a shred of guilt for killing my mother. He acted like he did the right thing. It disgusted me. Sorry, I just couldn’t hold back.”

“Forget the element guns—they won’t work on your father. Use the celestial power you just unlocked!”

Leo sighed.

Star-Lord hesitated, “But I don’t know how to use it. He didn’t teach me.”

“You know he hasn’t taught you yet, so why didn’t you at least wait until you learned a little before fighting him?” Leo couldn’t help but twitch at Star-Lord’s response.

It seemed like Leo would have to rely on himself for now. If he waited for Star-Lord to master his celestial powers, it would probably be too late.
